  • There has been one known plane powered by a PDE. I believe it only flew once for a very short time though.

  • @gaktkr Basically, it repeatedly detonates a bit of fuel, instead of constantly burning it through a turbine.

  • the only working pde's to my knowledge are in lab facilities. viable pde powered jets are still a fair way off. there are a whole bunch of AIAA journals about where the technology currently is and the issues they have to face

  • Search for Long-EZ "Borealis"

  • any footage of pulse detonation JETS? was this design here an imprvement on efficiency?
