  • Hey there, that was extremely interesting thank you!

  • 8:40 is where the goods at for this video. Dr. Hyman's tips to boost longevity/mitochondrial function

  • Comment removed

  • absolutely true. take it from me, I'm a current US MD medical student and I shake my head at whats being taught. it frames our mind to look only for quick fixes, medicines and only see diseases as isolated events rather than disease branches that are connected to each other. My goal is to become a radiologist (money, problem solving) and start my own company on the side to optimize people's health through nutrition and lifestyle.

  • Try Resveratrol and Omega 3, 9 together !

  • I think the resveratrol has to be in enteric capsules so that it makes it through the stomach with no damage. The stomach has a lot of hydrochloric (HCl) acid which would destroy the resveratrol unless it is protected.

  • As of Dec 2010, Glaxosmithkline has STOPPED the R+D into Resveratrol. The company they bought may not have delivered on it's promises. Go Figure.

  • excellent item by the way mr. ultrawellness :)

  • at 120 your testosterone and growth hormone levels will be so low, your immune system so weak, that your body just cannot fight disease hard enough anymore and it can't repair living tissue enough anymore, that you will just slowly die from disease or heart failure etc. No resveratrol is gonna change that :)

  • This guy... is amazing. I want to give him a big hug! You've changed my life!!! I will never be unhealthy....

  • I really like this guy. Got his book The ultramind solution and its one of the best books a ever read. Taken me a while to read it cuz I have to process all the information. That's a good thing.

  • Mark is great, he is not the typical suck face on Youtube trying to sell you something.

  • yes....thanks doc....hahahhh....

  • Thank you Dr. Hyman for the great information in this video and all your other great videos. I really like your approach to preventing and reversing health problems by getting to the root of the problems rather than masking them with toxic medications. :)

  • Truth with a double dose of education! 3 things to know before buying resveratrol 1. make sure it is pure trans resveratrol in liquid form (studies found that capsule form is ineffective) 2. best if formulated with additional polyphenols (green coffee bean, etc), catechins & quercetin (creating a synergistic effect) 3. Dose is enough (2000mg is ideal per day)- like Dr Hyman said, you need enough to be effective. THere are many more things to know but I will have to make a video... :)

  • @greensolutions4all ...thank u for this extra info!

  • I like this guy. I'm subscribing.

  • Dr. Sinclair never called Resveratrol a drug. He also never said that Resveratrol was the ANSWER to all problems, just that this specific phenol was effective in several lab tests on mice and that it may be helpful in increasing mitochondria activity, thus slowing the aging process. I been taking a product that is 10x more effective than resveratrol and have already experienced better health. Turned 50 this year, but I'm told that I barely look 40 and I sure don't feel 50.

  • Be the example. You will glow, people will want to know Y.

Get the Gluten out first, you leaky gutted Americans! Yes, I was born in the USA.

  • Thx Doc!

  • Ha ha ha. If resveratrol did all those things that they said on the news, so many people would look soooo amazing by now. Then everyone else who hadn't been taking it would start taking it as everyone else who was taking it would look so darn amazing.

This guy does a detailed job of explaining some things.

  • Ha ha ha. If resveratrol did all those things that they said on the news, so many people would look soooo amazing by now. Then everyone else who hadn't been taking it would start taking it as everyone else who was taking it would look so darn amazing.

  • Once again, Dr. Hyman nails it. I have been using his Ultra Wellness system for three years, and it has been a life-changer. I think I might just add some resveratrol. What ultimate health ... it can be done.

  • Living to 100 and beyond has more to do with genetics than anything else.

  • @auggiedoggy BUZZ! wrong!

You can extend your life through diet. Slowing the aging process is not as dificult as one may think. Oxidation of cells is the biggest cause and if you slow this down to a crawl then there is no doubt that living to 100 for many people, disease free is very possible. The importance of folic acid and B12 in dna repair is also valuable for longevity.

Cancer for example cannot thrive in a well-oxygenated, alkaline environment.

  • @bluboy6554 : Genetics. That's the major factor for longevity. That is why some people live to be 100 while following less than perfect lifestyle. A perfect example is my wife's aunt. She smoked for 70 years. Then she quit. She will celebrate her 100th birthday next year. Do you honestly think centenarians give a hoot about resveratrol? You can improve your diet and follow a very healthy lifestyle to extend your life but the bottom line is genetics.

  • @auggiedoggy : My mother's side of the family tend to live long lives. Two of my uncles died in their 90's. One died at 88. They didn't supplement their diet and they grew up during a time when all this information we have today was not available. They ate what they could. One thing they did do differently was that they were more physically active during their lives. Resveratrol, while being a good thing, isn't a magic bullet.

  • @auggiedoggy No it isn't a magic bullet but your family may not have eaten takeaway most nights sittin at the tv piggin' out on crap, living in down town polutionville had with Mercury in Amalgams, Aluminium in Deodorant and teflon in pans most of their lives... Genetics will without a doubt make you live longer, look at george Burns for example. But for most people, Diet is a single most important factor in extending their lives towards 100.

  • @bluboy6554 : Are you kidding? Mercury has been used in fillings for an very long time. They also had to deal with aluminiun, asbestos, lead in drinking cups, etc. Your expectations of diet are unrealistic. Diet can only do so much. You can disagree all you want but until they do invent a magic bullet, the key limiting factor for longevity will always be genetics. Don't get me wrong. I'm still an advocate for improving one's diet and lifestyle however.

  • @auggiedoggy I am not disagreeing with you about genetics as a factor but saying diet is a BIG factor too. My parents died of heart disease. mum 62yo dad at 66yo because they ate crap only... their parents lived to in their 80's & 90's. nanna just passed 3 years after mum died @ 87yo and pop died @ 91yo. You cant live a ripe old age on weaties and coffee for breakfast, white bread and ham for lunch and then 2 minute noodles for dinner as some people do..no matter how good your genetics are.

  • What's so bad about flour products???

  • @1091Floyd21 flour products or gluten products promote autoimmunity and are hard for the body to digest.

  • @bluboy6554 How many many mg do you think would be in 360 pills??

  • @1091Floyd21 I think it was 3.6 grams of resveratrol. thats a crazy amount and would not recommend it for humans. stick with anywhere from 100mg-500mg. Actually any amount will give you benefits when you consider 1 glass of red wine has an average of 1mg of resveratrol, then taking 100mg will certainly have it's benefits.

If you want to know about CO-Q10 then check it out on my channel or give me a buzz and will steer you in the right direction.

  • @bluboy6554 : Sounds good! I'll take a resveratrol pill with my glass of red wine!

  • Is resveritrol an over the counter pill???

  • @bluboy6554 I'm on 100mg a day of this stuff. I can't say with absolute certainty I notice the difference!

  • Who wants to fade away tough!

  • For my supplements I use iherb.com. They have very good price, fast shipping, great service. Use promo code ZAY467 on first order to get $5 off.

  • I grew up in the 1950's, '60's, read lots of Rodale Press books, etc. And began collecting books on nutrition related. I recall reading as far back as late '60's, studies indicated sugar was a problem. At least one study found that aboriginal diets range from 3 to 6 lbs of sugar yearly. In USA, the annual sugar consumption was estimated around 150 to 160 lbs per person. Aboriginal populations tend to not have the 3 biggies developed countries do.

  • @railadvocate: * -The 3 biggies: Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes (I think in that order.).

  • 5* very very nice video!

  • I'm sure that Sinclare never said you can eat any thing you want, because he has said that you can live longer by cutting out carbohydrates

  • Great video. Don't worry about some youtubers who are "no-lifers".

Ty for taking your time and putting this on youtube.

  • By the way Mark Hyman. Sorry for all these argument's on this page.

  • You say sorry? Who is a moron now!

  • No, you idiot. I'm not apologizing to you. I'm apologizing to Dr Hyman for having arguments on his page.

  • Yeah Brett you are apologizing for your own offensive behavior that's it, the reason I do not attack your so called "reasoning" is because you are out of line. Talk to somebody in a normal matter and you might get a normal answer.

There are a myriad of arguments on the matter but as long as you are afraid of them and keep on calling people stupid out of fear for the truth, then nobody will give you the chance to grow, go veg and stop consuming carcasses it makes agressive.

  • Okay are you stupid? I apologized to the owner of the video because there is an argument on his page.

    EARTH IS TEMPORARY

We wil eventually move off this planet. The sun will eventually die.

When we move to another solar system do we need to take every fucking plant and animal with us or something? Why do you put the planet first and put human beings second. Do you realize what these people want to do. They want to kill 90% of the population. Why are you in favor of this?

  • Earth will be longer here than Humanity ever will,

    you stupid!

  • HAHAH!!!.... We're gonna move to a different SOLAR SYSTEM?!?!

Dude, that comment made my day (not really)

And u think Christianity is the fairy-tale?!?

U "science" folk LOVE fairy-tales!.....ie. Evolution theory.

  • Actually, we DIDNT go to the Moon!!

It was a Hoax!.... Welcome to the real world!

  • It was a hoax and all filmed on location of the Mohave desert with astronauts dangling in elastic ropes.

  • dude, i came across a video where it shows a space walk. It was actually a "stop motion" ANIMATION !!!

    Its all bullshit!

  • Oh, I understand now. You're an idiot and hate logic and reason.

The universe isn't 6000 years old.

Enjoy your invisible, imaginary friend in the sky.

    This is a fact.

We already have robots on mars and unmanned ships thoughout the solar system. Learn the facts.

and if you think humanity will stay on this shitty rock forever and that earth is somehow "holy". Then you're an idiot lol.

People like you are the cancer destroying humanity.

This is a fact. Whether you like it or not.

  • I love meat. Eating meat is actually more natural than not eating meat. I'm not afraid of shit. I'm facing your ignorant face on aren't I?

People will eventually live a very long time. Maybe even forever. Through our technology. It is already happening. People are living longer and longer. Try to fucking stop us and we will be there with our guns.

I'm sorry but we are not killing billions of people for the environment. Humanity comes first.

  • Yes it will happen that people live longer and maybe very much longer than now. But finding another planet fleeing from a dying sun? You really believe we shall be able to travel even the distance of 1 light year ever? Considering that the first star is hundreds or even thousands of light years away, you ignorant.

  • Lol wow.

    No.

  • Amnesty, take this elsewhere.

I don't think the Dr gives a crap.

  • I'd just like to know if there are any side effects to taking 360 pills of resveratrol before I begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1091Floyd21 ....not recommended to take 360 pills of resveratrol because I did read about a study that found taking too much may actually have adverse effects. There was a study done where taking too much actually gave the opposite results in humans. Just like taking too much of Co-Q10 can have opposite effects, taking very high doses of any herb or supplement may be dangerous in the long run..

  • @bluboy6554 It says on the video in youtube "Dr Oz Says Resveratrol on Good Morning America" that 500mg a day is the recommended dosage. If I take less than 100mg per day, I should be ale to get some of the benefits without any negitive side effects.

May I ask what Co-Q10 is?

  • O the usual fuck shit arguments, stop being brainless and read yourself into the matter before you comment.

  • Read? lol Why don't you do that. You would rather spare a rat's life than SAVE POTENTIALLY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. You think you're doing the right thing, but no, you're doing the exact opposite.

  • Cannabinoids are the single compounds that will help every system of the body.

  • Stop Animaltesting!

  • The body of a mouse is not comparable to a human body.

I like the rest of the message but will living forever take care of the increasing overpopulation?

Should we stop getting children and let all of the current living people live longer or even live forever?

  • Are you kidding me. A mouse is extremely comparable to the human body. 90% of all medical advancements have come from animal experiments. That's so fucking cruel trying to stop animal testing. I mean what the fuck is wrong with you.

  • Wait what? Are you kidding me? YES we want to live forever. Who the hell wants to die. Let me guess, you're concerned about the planet right? It's just a rock. We can move to other planets to live. You're like Obama's science czar. I bet you would kill people in the name of saving the planet. God I hate people like you. Also, yes we need to slow down the birth rate by condoms and etc. But people that want to kill other because of overpopulation should be put in prison. Humanity will prevail.

  • LMAO okay. This is a perfect example of human ignorance instead of attacking my argument, you attack me. Do you know how easy that is. Just saying "blah blah blah you're stupid I win". What are you 3? You aren't explaining how you are correct. So as far as anyone is concerned, I'm right and you are wrong.

Tell me. WHY you would rather save a rat than save millions of people? Animal research is responsible for 90% of modern medicine. You advocate death and it's ruining the planet.

  • FUCK THAT SHIT!!

    SUPPORT ANIMAL TESTING!!

why do you want to stop all human medical progress in it's tracks and kill a bunch of people?

  • 8:22 "...Now these are the principles of systems medicine, or functional medicine. We find the bad stuff and take it away, we identify the good stuff the body needs to thrive, and we get rid of it."

    nice.

  • This guy should be on t.v. Best information I have heard in years.

  • lol he is... PBS man.

  • thank you for putting this up.

  • ugh being healthy is hard ugh

  • i read that there is more resveratrol in grape leaves than the grapes themselves.

is this true? if so, can we eat or juice grape leaves for a cheap alternative?

  • is it a bad thing to always be aggressive and always pushing yourself as far as you can go? I am real bad about that especially when i go to the gym and things like that.
