Kate Bush - My Lagan Love - (Druid Mixx)

This is a gorgeous song, but it literally isn't "My Lagan Love."

It sounds like a creative RESPONSE to "My Lagan Love," being sung from the girl's perspective in the original. That's a great idea on its own, but why did she extend the meter for the verses so much? The tune is almost unrecognizable in this incarnation.

Also, she can't quite seem to reach the low notes properly.

To me the flat pitch seems essential. It's the dissonance that creates that haunting sound. I really like it.

@glasscandles2u Thanks for replying so politely if disagreeing. I do love Kate and regard her more as an artist than a Pop star. I couldn't resist pointing out the pitch problem here because no-one else had mentioned it. Even the first note starts under but the interval between 2nd and 3rd notes sounds like an ambulance sped by. She must have recorded this a capella with the other sounds laid on as the pitch bumps resulting are awful. Never mind , if the Tallis Scholars can go flat, so can Kate.

@alipitogen Kate establishes her pitch in the middle of this performance and probably should have begun in the key she ended up in. It would be haunting for me to listen to without the interjections of the instruments, which graphically expose the puncture. I'd love to know who they thought they were fooling. I know she should have had another take because she's better than this.

@robbjmc I fear I'm somewhat of a voice in the wilderness here. I didn't realize that the background was added on by the uploader .Apologies, but the pitch bumps are not Glasscandles2u's fault. Kate definitely and categorically goes flat and it would still stick out like a sore thumb even without the accompaniment. Having said all that I am a fan -really. I'll shut up now until someone else agrees with me.
