Sometimes I suffer coughing attacks related to asthma and eating a piece of bread immediately soothes me lol weird I know, but it does help me and could help someone else. :)
@Drawingfreak48124 -->911 should be called. School nurses are limited by regulations in what they are allow to do in routine and emergency care. Basically if the asthma attack is severe no matter where you are, the best action is to call 911. The paramedics have the meds needed. Most doctors office CAN NOT handle handle respiratory distress or any other severe situations. Jim RN
Chemo- & radio- "therapies" are NEVER efficacious with regards to malignant (trophoblastic) growth—for in the long history of chronic metabolic diseases none have, nor could they possibly be, cured through mechanical manipulation of the body. The preventative, control & cure for this singular, noncommunicable disease known as cancer is the naturally-occurring-cyanide-rich substance: Amygdalin (a.k.a. vitamin B17, & in its refined state: Laetrile).
i have ashtma you have to breath with your stomach not just primeraly your lungs it's not a cure but it will help being asthmatic's we tend to breath with r lungs only use your nose
I agree regarding caffeine. When I'm having a hard time breathing, even with the use of an inhaler and/or nebulizer, I find that a cup of hot coffee helps, along with taking a hot shower (the steam also helps). The effectiveness may be different in each person, but, for me it seems to help alleviate the shortness of breath.
I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned, but for many, having a caffeinated drink can help, as caffeine is a bronchodilator (albeit a mild one). Tea or cola came in handy for me at various points. Drinking water in general can help. And if you have access to steam, it is useful for some. You should not encourage them to lie down, that makes it harder to breathe. Sitting, leaning forward works. Do all these things before it becomes bad enough that it's a huge emergency.
