Acually. I used to own 2nd and 3rd gen mustang.
They both had a 302 Small block 5.0L V8.
The only thing the car lot had at both times.
Now days. I think it is a 4.0L V6 for their engines.
I own a Shelby now.
5.4L of pure Supercherged V8.

You guys are just hilariously imature! Thats not a stock V8! It's Supercharged and fully built from the factory! That's around 500 Horses compared to 250! It's all in the power to wait ratio! You put 500+ in that civic you'll have an 8 second car! Oh btw. Factory cobras run low 12s with no mods. My 96 civic runs 12.9 at 110 and I haven't even hit the price of a mustang cobra before tax title and liscence! And that's not jus in mods. I mean I haven't even paid that much for the whole car wit mod!

I meant with stickys. My friends bone stock 03 Cobra with stickys would put down a 12.3. But that was his fastest run in it. Mine in my civic is 12.9 on street tires, naturaly aspirated, and no nos.

like I have always said that there is a big difference between ricers and TUNERS. tuners are guys that actually know what they got and built it right. i totally respect a honda if it is built right because honda motors are good especially for reliability. If you build them right then you can have a good car. but the sad thing is that most of these guys put on an intake and a fart cannon and think that they are fast.

first off, that was a very nice race, both cars did pretty good.
second, that cobra was definitely stock, if it had had a kennbell sc running 20lbs of boost, it would have made over 600 hp, and it would have beat the civic.
third, your average american car will beat a japanese 4cyl car simply because more displacement equals more power to the wheels, unless its modified. i think u watch too much fast and the furious.
