I think it would be better to warm the engine a few minutes before you force it in that way, then instead of insisting on further to slide the wheel load would have been better 'rocking' the car back and forth a few times using the growing space. P. S. I have a subaru impreza. Buy Subaru!
Haha, I can't tell you how many times I've done this! Being a college student, I don't exactly own a snow shovel. Whenever the campus gets plowed (inevitably leaving large piles of snow in front of my car) I simply substitute the snow shovel with my Subaru. Works like a charm!
That is really nice except for the fact the car has no snow underneath the frame. Simply put any car with AWD is only as good as the depth of snow to frame ratio. Any and every vehicle once snow, mud or any other debre gets caught up underneath litterly lifts the vehicle up and tires off the ground.
Only and I mean ONLY in a Subaru... I bought a 1997 Impreza on eBay for $1700 and I have been impressed from day one.. I still have this car now, 4 years later with 198,875 miles later and it still runs perfectly and goes through snow like a knife through butter.
Subaru ROCKS. It's a VW/Porsche Flat 4 engine with Japanese RELIABILITY mixed with amazing 4x4 that will go though anything and Amazing Handling that can take turns at 100MPH+ like a walk in the park.
A impressive and cool way to get your car out of the snow! :) but that is also a great way to destroy an engine, revving it that high just after starting it. but, nice vid guys! :) thumbs up from Norway!
@torebreivik10 You also don't wana let it warm up because the snow would act as an insulator and it could overheat quite quickly! Although you may no this already just a friendly tip haha
@MJDEA yeah cause fluffy snow that melts just causes SO much backpressure yo, yeah and let your engine warm up cause the oil is stil frozen solid and engines are designed to just blow up and get ruined when you drive them cold, I know this im an expert on cars and how they work bros my mom let me drive her minivan once! bro.
That worked out quite nicely. When the vid started, I thought it might have been a BIT more of a struggle, but never doubted it was going to come loose. Love the Subies though.
@edrees1o1 as that's true, the exhaust obviously wasn't coming out as you didn't see it, and the exhaust didn't move the snow out of it's way upon starting the car LOL
@uakronsam116 unless a horny snowman broke his huge snowdick off while fucking the exhaust pipe and it froze solid your not going to loose fucking power because some snow is covering up your pipe!
@TheRockisSmokin First, take a joke. Second, how could we not be from the US? We do no't sound British, not from Canada, a lot of other English speaking parts of the world do not get snow like we were in. Where else in the world could we have been, in feet of snow, speaking English?
@enkaynik Jesus, be nice. I thought it was Montreal until I noticed the plate isn't Canadian. You can't tell it's a Wisconsin plate if you're not from there, or if you're unfamiliar with US plates, and considering janl39 is Czech, how the hell is he supposed to know what the hell kind of plates they are. Canadian English and US English sound pretty much the same, so asking where you idiots are isn't that stupid a question. And spitting doesn't make you cool.
@enkaynik Revving the engine that much when it's cold can be a real hazard for the engine. I would probably try something like this if, but with less power. As long as the wheels turn, which they did, you don't need the extra power, by revving that much.
I live in Norway, where this amount of snow is quite common. Subarus are great when it comes to traction. One of my top choices when it comes to four wheel drive systems, alongside Audi Quattro, which I think is just a little bit better.
@janl39 why do you say so? Do you even understand what makes an engine stress? Yea sure it wasn't even warmed up, but car's are built to a certain quality to withstand that, even tho its still a good idea to do so. Even then i doubt they run the car like that all the time. Plus the didn't even rev it out that much. Do you even drive?
@BradleyFFGray they are cars, thats what they are meant for, especially subarus, they know people are gonna be doin this kinda stuff, if it were a quad or a snowmobile i would agree but its a car
What's so funny? Keep laughing for no reason. Like the car though. One more thing: WARM UP your engine before putting this much torque. Just advice. Good vid.
I don't think a tranny rebuild is 6k, you can get a brand new trans for that. I had 3rd gear go on mine and it was like 1600 to rip it apart twice and fix the issues.

Watch out for exhaust coming into the car, crack those windows.
