When crysis came out I ran it on an 8600gt on lowest settings, no AA @ 1280x1024. It still looked good, but was sat at 30-40fps max

i have the same specs as yours. im not sure either with your series9800 and ram. but mine are both gddr3. and a quad core xeon processor.

i can play on all enthusiast. but it lags when the hordes of enemies are all firing, explosions and vehicle drivings.

it makes me sick specially im using always the sniper scope.

so i only choose the most graphic effects of the game to enthusiast then other are gamer or medium.

i play these game the same as this visual look. but i dont experience lag at all.

yeah, great card, I have the 8800GTS 512 heavily overclocked at 1440x900 and it tears through it. Consoles can't even run games at that resolution.

when you get to high resolutions (1680x1050 and above) anti-aliasing is almost unnoticeable and just unnecessary. All it does for me when im at 1680x1050 is give me a 10+fps performance loss

Not true, I'll take the 30+FPS over getting rid of some aliasing. But If my FPS is still high with AA on, give me some AA. I can notice it pretty easy at 1920x1200 on a 24inch LCD.

If you're getting min FPS above 40 in a game like this, nothing wrong with some AA. This isn't Q3 100FPS isn't necessary ,or even possible with most LCDs today ( I miss my CRT).
