  • There were quite a few great records on this New England label. Mostly Rock a Billy (Curtis Johnson, Herbie Lee III, Ricky Coyne) C&W(Dick Curless) and Reissues I by the vELVETS. tHIS LABEL WAS OWNed by a Boston record Dist (Records Inc) and the label was in Westbrook Maine.

  • My first crush was with his wife Mabel, i was 4 or 5 years old

    Dick Curless Jr.

  • Curtis played at the Silver Dollar on Exchange Street in Bangor during the sixties with a guitarist from Rumford named Bobby Giasson. Curtis told me he bought a brand new Caddilac with the royalties from this record, his big hit!

  • To right mate.one of the first 45's I brought.

  • This was a classic floor filler back in the late 70's & early 80's here in London,Thanks..

Too bad a good majority of the people here in the U.S. don't even know this number. It is one of New England's greatest Rock n' Roll moments ever captured onto tape and vinyl.

Glad you enjoyed this song. You can find this song as well as everything else Curtis Johnson recorded for Event Records on the compilation "That''ll Flat Git It! Vol. 20: Rockabilly From the Vaults of Event Records" There are also other excellent artists that recorded for Event Records on this compilation. Check Amazon to purchase a copy.
