I can't believe you learned this by just listening to it! Even if you had to use a slow downer software. You are great! Do you write your own flamenco music?
its funny you mention this now. I am currently delving back into this bulerias, and i have figured
out 2 new falsettas from it. I do write a little flamenco, but i mainly just enjoy transcribing and playing, especially Paco's music. Thanks for watching!! I will post some new vids in the next few days.
@Guitarwizard, BTW, believe it or not, about 5 years ago I downloaded an old video of you from foroflamenco (I think!) playing another Bulerias. I had completely forgotten about that video till I stumbled upon your youtube channel just yesterday, thinking man I've seen this guy playing somewhere! Then it dawned on me that it was you on that video. I looked for it just last night and there it was! Found it among my archived computer files. U don't have that video on your youtube channel.
@Guitarwizard I rarely visit foroflamenco these days. I am not sure how to get you that video file! May be I upload it to my youtube channel and share it with you or something. Will keep you posted.
sorry frank, i dont read music. I figured this out off the record by ear. Im also now playing with conventional right hand technique. I will be posting some new vids very soon! Thanks for the comments!
you are AMAZING man. seriously I'm not sure if I would be able to tell the difference if I was to put this on my mp3 instead of the actual song on zyryab. great job, good technique and good feel.
I think that the most important is the sound and here we have the SOUND :) if everybody was thinking only to keep traditions, flamenco was still unknown.Time ago flamenco people didn´t accept not even Paco because he left strict traditions. So what? Anyway I love your style even if I prefer strict flamenco techniques but I aprreciate your combinative picking too.Its just sounds great and its absolutely your style! Cool :)
Que mania con decir que eso no es flamenco!!! Es flamenco y del bueno!!! Y al que le pique que se rasque!!! Oleee!!! Seguro que no tienes antepasados por Cadiz???!!!
the Amazing Slow Downer software. I didnt write it out though. Its so complicated rhythmically, it would take too long. I suck at tabbing things out, and generally dont do it. Thanks for commenting!! Happy to hear you like my vids! GW

if you would train your right hand fingers more and left the pick you should be a marvelous guitarrist...it´s my opinion...otherwise great technique !! ;)
you're playing flamenco dude and i can't say you're not, very nice and clean playing...great knowledge of falsetas..impressive from a plectrum player..keep it up! and you are playing flamenco, screw the critics..
Your right,it is,Camaron de La Isal the god of flamenco was one of the people who widely opened the doors of flamenco to other sounds. BUT I must agree, there is no comparison to pure gypsie flamenco, and it should be preserved when it comes down to it
To my ear it is flamenco even though you play with a pick. OLE!!! A mi me gusta como toca este tio!!! If i was as fast as you with a pick i would play like that, but i never learned to play with it.
hey what are you doing plz say me i listened this song for hundred times from paco but there is no any differences with your song plz say me do you think is there any absent your song i couldn t hear any absent and plz say send more nad teac us some for istance medittrian sundance thanks
Thanks drsarp84! Yes, i think its a very good transcription, though i havent transcribed that entire bulerias. I will try to find some time to show you some parts of Meditaranean Sundance.
Its almost as hard to spell as it is to play, haha :-) Thanks for your comments
yes, thats true that he doesnt play flamenco traditionally like he is supposed to, but he plays this piece as it is flamenco, the only difference is that he uses a pick instead of a thumb for picado, if u just listened this piece without knowing who plays it u would absolutely believe that it is a flamenco guitarist, i have seen that he played tremolo and rasquedo so it has to be flamenco, in fact todd u have created something new, with hybrid technique u can play flamenco
todd, you are one of the best guitarists ever, i have been studying your videos for some time now, and all i got to say is that ur guitar playing is phenomenal, never i have seen someone playing guitar in jazz, blues, fusion, flamenco and classical. ur one of a kind dude with a unique technique, keep up the good work
he's not a neo classical player just to correct Vinniemoore89.he's playing classical flamenco music. and he's doing a damn good job at it too. and as far as the pick goes the only thing that matters is how you sound. whatever you have to do to make that sound really makes no difference. i just had to throw that in there because too many guitarists are labeled as good because what they play looks difficult. this guy is fantastic though.
Hi, Thanks!! I use a Richard Brune Blanca flamenco. They are not made anymore unfortunatly. But you can sometimes find a used one. Thanks for the comment! Cheers! GW
Yes, ive read about the Aparicio line, and they seem to be very nice for the price. I have a Yamaha CG171SF wich is a blanca and its pretty awesome for 350$
Before I used to not want to see using a pick in Flamenco Spanish guitars, but John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola won me over. Now this guitarist emphasized it even stronger that it doesn't matter as long as it sounds like it.
Well done!

Nice playing. Flamenco players are often so serious and nasty about what REAL flamenco is.
I got shit from one guy for playing flute with some flamencos people at a party. He said; The Flute is not Flamenco...
I said are you Spanish?
No, Puerto Rican!
I said; I just saw Paco come with a flutist in Concert. The Puerto Rican "expert" shut his mouth up fast after that.
Flamenco is ever changing just like all art.
