  • @redbird461

Thank you for your visit, glad you like it.

  • I forgot about the Last Song I Loved it all over again Linda

  • I always thought this song would have been more appropriate as the theme song of the movie "Ghost" instead of "Unchained Melody".

  • I once had this 45 but the other side was my favorite.....Can you PLEASE post BOBBY & THE BOYS..... I'm pretty sure it is the flip of THE LAST SONG.

  • Gene Thomas now has a 22 song CD available at CD Baby, or on his web site

  • I requested this song almost 2 years ago, thanks again for finding it. I have another one for you, Jack Scott,"Before The Bird Flies".

  • "Bobby & The Boys" was on the flip side.

  • Forgot the date....July 26, 2009...Sunday from 1pm til 11pm...Lone Star Club

  • Gene Thomas will be at the lone Star club in pasadena tx along with Roy Head and others for an all day show.....FREE

  • @nightstar099 Wish I could have been in Houston to see the show. What memories!

  • @teacher389 He sounds like more like Roy Orbison on this song. Possibly because Roy wrote it.

  • how far r u from houston?....gene thomas and roy head were fantastic. probably cause they have talent. wish u could have seen them also.they do sound familiar, maybe cause they're both texans also......hope to hear from u again......larry

  • 600 LONG miles. (sigh)

  • wooow new for me its so goood!

  • One of the best!

  • If ever a copy of "Look At Me Girl" by the Playboys Of Edinburg is found, I hope it will be posted.

  • So, you like the Playboys of Edinburg, too?? I went to a dance at Mt Carmel High School here in Houston in 1966. They were the band performing that night.

    Great band!!!

  • Wow, that had to have been a great performance!

There is a posting on YouTube of "Look At Me Girl" by Bobby Vee. Great performance, although not as good as the Playboys Of Edinburg!

  • Was a big hit on Houston radio in early '60's along with Gene Thomas' "Sometime" and "Baby's Gone". He still performs occasionally and now lives in Kerville.

  • Roy Robbins and the Availables, The Melody Ranch, Waco, Texas - ended their gig every time with this song....what great memories this brings back!

  • heard this song back in the 80's on knuz in houston love this song thought i would never hear it again thank for posting it

  • Ha! Me too! We pushed the button for either KNUZ or KILT in the 60s.

  • This song was a favorite at Garner State Park, TX in the mid-60's. All the teenagers camping out in the park (chaperoned by their parents) would dance to songs on the juke-box in the outdoor area of the pavillion. When it was time to shut down for the night, the park ranger would always play this song and everyone knew that it would be time to go back to their respective camp sites once the song ended.

  • In Houston, it was the last song played before midnight meaning, Get Home! Do you remember the song, played at the pavillion, Goin to the River?

  • I don't recall the "Goin to the River" song.

  • wow that's a great song

  • Mr. Gene Thomas, what a rare fine talent with an excellent voice....I hope he had a great life along the way!

  • Thanks for this great song

  • Very good unknown song !!!
