  • JEM RULES!

  • they copy barbie

  • Wish they would have tried harder with the hair. Like wtf? It just jets out to the side and that's when it's new!

  • I got the original jem doll as a kid and her earings didn't light up.; that is until I dropped her, and then they started to work.

  • I always wanted this doll but the only one I ever got was Clash

  • My BIG sister still has this doll now I have it =)

  • I had this doll. She had that purple dress with the hot pink bows and the silver hem.

  • believe it or not my doll's earrings still light up!

  • I had this doll when I was a kid. Light up earrings and everything. even the big battery box on her back.

  • I had a Jem doll and I was soooo excited when I finally got the Rio doll the next year!

  • But the doll doesn't really 'change' right?

  • @TXRider You had to change her clothes and style her hair yourself.

  • @TXRider I believe there were two dolls, one of Jerrica and one of Jem, unless they are the same doll with a wig or something?

  • @David315842 No, they were the same doll. The way it worked is that you had to change Jem into Jerrica. You can't see it in the commercials, but the top part of Jem's hair is pink, the bottom part of her hair is blond. You had to take the pink part and twist it into a bun and place the hat of the Jerrica outfit, which was included in the package with Jem on her head; and then she became Jerrica Benton

  • @menerva4 I couldn't really see it in the commercials, Hasbro should have done better in that regard, however I did also mention that it could have been the same doll which a hair switch gimmick, so thank you for pointing that out. The commercials at least to me could have pointed it out better, though by the sounds of it, Hasbro could have done better then just by adding a hat to keep her duel identity. Actually come to think of it I do remember some blonde within the pink of her hair.

  • oh my....i so remember i had that an her earrings lighting up i thought was the coolest thing ever

  • I had the Jem doll when I was a girl. My neighbor Joan got her for me for Christmas one year. Don't know what happend to her

  • I still have my Jem and Kimber doll and my sister had Pizzaz and Synergy dolls.

I also got the cool neon pink stage that came with stands to put the dolls on it and microphones they could hold.

I had the rockin roadster too that had a radio in the back of it. I am not sure where it got too I kinda wish it was till around but Ill hang on to the dolls for sure.

    Ahhh, the good ole days.

  • I wanted that doll so bad when I was little, but of course my stupid parents would buy me "boy toys" instead :(

So I had to burn down the house with them inside :)

  • @primohomme Are you a boy? If you don't mind me asking. It's cool if boys play with dolls. :)

  • @TXRider

yes I'm a boy :p but I always loved Jem.

  • I had a JEM Doll! I loved my dolls and being a kid in the 80's and 90's. Strawberry Shortcake, Raggedy Ann, Cabbage Patch, Barbie, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite and Kid Sister Dolls!!! I had them all. I really miss being a kid of the 80s'/90's.

  • lol kittybitty99

  • :( i use to have the Jem doll and one of the Misfits...wonder what happened to them...

  • Comment removed

  • I sold all my dolls on ebay, now i wish i hadn't.

The Jem doll had blond hair on the bottom, and pink at the top, over laying the blond...so when you made her Jerrica, you could stuff the pink hair up in her hat, and it would only show the blond.

  • @vanity684 Yeah I hated that, the hat and the hair never wanted to stay

  • maybe it's just the coloring in the commercial but is the Jem's hair blond on the doll instead of pink? It looks awfully Blondish.

  • @Passions55 The video quality isen't too good. Jem's hair is pink, Jerrica's is blonde.

  • @David315842 I just noticed in other videos, that perhaps the original Jem doll was perhaps quite blond-ish after all, my bad.

  • Actually, I bought the earliest version for my sister....the pink wasn't as profound as on the later dolls....when they gave her the prettier face with the open smile, her pink hair was really pink

  • @Passions55

No, you're right. I bought an early doll for my sister. the pink was really pale. When they offered the smiling prettier jem, the pink got darker....And actully the doll I bought sis came with an early poster that showed the available outfits.....those dolls looked like even earlier, scarier, proto-types

  • Damn, $34.99 for that doll. No wonder my mom was pissed at my brother for giving my Rio doll a mohawk.

Did anyone every own Ajia? I could never find that chick!

  • @newlywedmoodys I had Aja, I owned all of Jem and the Holograms, and I even had the orphans that hung out with them. But I never had any of the Misfits

  • It used to bother me they made her look like a transvestite. her hands and feet were too big. I loved playing with it, though! Though I never did get the Kimber doll.... :( or Pizzazz.

  • @Elphie3000They made the hands and feet bigger on purpose since reports of little girls misusing their Barbie dolls which have smaller hands and feet in order to detour them from injuring themselves or other children since the larger Transvestite like feet and hands would not ever fit into any normal childs orphus and provided a much lower risk of child abuse than that of the sluttier doll Barbie!

  • @MrMedusaLvamp

80s Barbies weren't slutty, they were high class ladies unlike today's barbies.

  • i always wondered why they man Jem feet so flat and big......and i was so pissed when i lost the earrings ugh!!!!! lol those were the days man wish i could go back sometimes

  • i had the jem doll. it sucked cuz the earrings weren't stars. i was upset haha

  • i think i still have mine, i remember she had big man feet for some reason haha

  • my real name is julia JEM i always use it to anything too

  • jem the cartoon was pretty ,but the doll...she looks kinda mannish.

  • I had that doll and my brother put her in the tub and her earrings never lit up again! Stupid brothers...LOL

  • I know, I had the Jem Glitter and Gold doll and with a Shera doll w/ her flying horse. My brother broke them. Indeed brothers are stupid.

  • I had these dolls. GO JEM!!!

  • Jem was amazing I seriusly think she was my fashion idol to this day I still wear pink all the time and they should bring her back my 4 year old is screaming for me to buy her and sadly I still sing this song.

  • you know they sell jem dolls on ebay. last time i checked they had 2 danse dolls and about 4 or 5 custom jem dolls and custom clothes for jem

  • Wow... I had this doll! I can't believe it was only 4.99!

  • they should bring jem back. seriously. little girls would go gagga over her even now. i STILL do, and my 3 yr old has never gotten so excited about anything until i put on Jem

  • More than little girls! We fans have been waiting for years!

  • Our English ads sucked, the American ones are so much better coz Britta sings in them. I wish more of the different version dolls were relased here though. :(

    I loved my jem dollies!

  • Thanks, I've never seen this Jem commerical before!

  • lol that kimber doll looked scary

  • LOL. That doll looked more like Dolly Pardon than Jem.
