Okay as far as racism goes....how do you explain the so-called christians that drop bombs on other countries(all people of color)? The xxx klan are alledgedly christians.There are many religious differences among people in this country as well as in political office..what relevence is this to my post? Radical Christians are the real christians. Christ came on behalf of the downtrodden, not the comfortable self-righteous Pharisees (McCain's crowd). Your comment only shows that you don't understand the black church, and hold questionable views of Christianity per se. You see anger and call it "unchristian and unamerican". I see Christ calling the powerful to task for injustice. Rev Wright may be an egotistical hothead, but he was a Marine with good christian theology who has helped thousands.

I assume you re a christian as well. It really doesn't matter what you say, but what you do. Talk is cheap. There are so many "Religions" in this world. There are many faiths and beliefs, what does that have to do with it? You can go to church or not go, it doesn't affect the next man what goes on in your soul. Black churcH? What makes a black church? Is there a yellow church? A white church? That is divisive in itself. People shouldn't be seperate within the same belief sytstem.Someone is lying

Lutherans would take issue with your comment on faith vs. action, but I wont. You ask what makes a "black church". History in the United States makes a "black church", namely the effects of long-term oppression creating a community that came together in response, and in a spiritual home found a way to be positive and mutually supportive, to demand justice and call all races and people to their better selves. It's not divisive, it's a cultural description and names a legit theological slant.

I understand that the black church has been the pillar to the black community and I agree with you. however, what has happened now is that it has started milking the people in those very communities. If they joined together they would be the richest corporstion in the world. Money, money, money!

I'm glad you agree about the black church being a pillar of the community, and hope you also agree about the theology point. Can you provide evidence of black churches "milking" the people in those communities? And how this "milking" stands up to the community service provided by these churches? And data about the "richest corporation" estimate of their collective worth? In other words, what are these claims based on?

Thay are based on experience. There are churches on every corner in my city right slp in the middle of all the run down neighborhoods. Most of those that have money come from far outside. That is cool. They hurry up out too. Maybe I am a bit cynical, they do something sometimes. I attend some services and I notice so much bickering and calamity among the members. It is a trip.
