Well Khalsa Sahib, if you only knew! Guru Harigobind was considered so extravagant in lifestyle that he was taunted "a fakir riding horses and pretending to be a Prince" by Bhai Gurdass his uncle and scribe of the Granth Sahib. Guru Arjan Dev actually prevented Bhai Gurdass to include Shah Hussain's Kafi in the granth because he had considered the line "fakir nemana" as being an insult on the "assumed" significance of the guruship!
@prinzdude As far as oral history goes, I suppose one has never witnessed one's own conception. Only with DNA analysis can we be absolutely sure whether one is one's father's son and it is to forensic history that we must turn. In this case I am relying on McAuliffe, M. A., Sikh Religion: Its Gurus, Sacred Writings, and Authors, London: Oxford University Press, 1909. The tradition of Hadith's (al-Sahih, al-hasan, and al-da'if) authenticity and quality may help I suppose!
Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. This guy could qualify as a Sikh. Wow. Our own Raagis are seldom this skilled. By the way, we Sikhs lay a claim on Baba Farid as one our own. Anyone who respects him and sings his songs is one of us.
This is the best version of sufiana kalam. The rustic folk singer is as good as gold. He beautifully mixed Farid's kalam with Shah Hussain. The astai of Ghulam Farid is killing. (The whole life I spent in search and I didn't even find the path!)Every time I hear it, I cry. Even though the video quality is not good but the content is superb. I wish more presentations of this singer to be on You Tube. Please accept my gratitude for putting this video on for us. Thanks.
i love this stuff i have been to these places mi heers darbar, mian sahibs darbar and many more its a realy wonderful expirience.i,ll love to go there again.
I would like to thank you very much for providing such cute things, I do appreciate your effort. As I said I will go and locate that Sain Bodey shah + visit Mi Heer Darbar too. I have passed by Jhang many times but missed such things... Thanks a lot.
hi just wanted to thank you for keeping people like me in tocuh with our roots great job..can u tell me where the mizar is in Pakistan. I would like to visit and if you have more videos like this please post.thank u
Thank you. Mai Heer Mazar is in Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan. I do not have any other video like this but do plan to make them on my next visit to Pakistan.
Dr.SaeedM Ji, the inital couplets/stanzas are of Khawaja Farid's but the "Mai Ni" nazam is one of the most famous Kafi by by Madhu Laal Hussain. He wrote this over 400 years before Khawaj Farid. Both are indeed great poets in their own right and our heritage that we are all very proud of.
And infact, I heard, that Hazrat Madhu Laal Hussain adressed the UM-UL-MOMINEEN here, on behalf of the whole UMMAT, pleading and crying for their sorrows and difficulties...
i have read most of comments about these saian singers that thay should have contract and stuff like that but one should remember thay already have contract with higher power thats why thay sound so genuine soulful if i may suggest most of you with all the good intentions please dont try to crupit thes saines with mony just a thought no offence.
Sian, an Indian surname, originating from the State of Punjab. It is derived from the punjabi word "Siana", which means intelligent. Moreover, I have heard it used rather frequently to address each other, in respect, by Punjabis and Sindhis alike. There are many examples where it is also used as surname for many great legends, living and dead, such as Sain Akhtar and Sain Zahoor. At any event, I do apologize if I have offended you.
dont be so prejudict against punjab. chanmukhan has rightly xplained the word SAIN HOPE U WILL BE SATISFIED NOW. BY THE WAY PPL IN SIND CALL THE WADAIRAAS AS SAIN; ANY COMMENT?
so if you can call someone sain out of sheer love and respect then why cant punjabis call someone who they respect and love as sain. I dont see anything wrong in it. Btw, instead of enjoying the kalam and appreciating someone's effort that he uploaded such a piece for all us, you are trying to quench your political thirst. It seems you also belong to a wadera family and you guys see yourselves as the masters and you think the whole Pakistan is your slave.
Thank you for this civil chat on 2 great Indic languages, Punjabi & Sindhi. Both the languages can find their roots in Vedic (Sanskrit) & influences from other languages such as Arabic & Farsi. I believe 2 very important tenets have to be met for a language to be called a language. 1, it must have its own grammar & 2, its own original words. Surprisingly, Urdu fails to meet these 2 requirements. It does not have its own original words and grammar. Thanks again.
Sain in punjabi means "A person who have chosen the path god, and less involved in world" mostly sufis and Sadhus hold the title Sain, it was never a surname but a title.
listen wat da hell hav u achieved being sindhi n punjabis havnt?listen faggot more ppl speak punjabi den sindhi.but i respect all languages as dey dont make n e difference.
wah kya baat hai janab!!!! thanks for the upload bro.
