Mr. Courage was a great musician and artist... he was also a hell of a nice guy. He will be sorely missed. It was a privilege to be allowed to tell his story.
I've just watched all four portions. What a wonderfully produced tribute to Sandy. Thanks for sharing it, and especially for taking all the time and effort to produce it in such a rewarding way. You couldn't have picked a sweeter or more talented guy to do a documentary like this about. What a legend. Thanks again for making this.
Show Boat. It doesn't get any better than that at film scoring. Check out how the rolling paddle wheel syncs with the bass drums in the last sequence. Unbelievable!
Hi, I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some top 1930's movie star cards. They include: Maurice Chevalier, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Maurice Chevalier, Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford ....
What a beautifully edited and composed doc! Especially the sound mix. A really nice job. I've always wondered about the process for the orchestrations at MGM. How much interaction was there with the choreographers to make sure the music worked perfectly. I too, would love a DVD!
I love "I'll Have To Change My Plan"..it's a simple melody with a full orchastra and brilliant soft shoe dancing!

Very cool, I like the editing and transitions. I love John Williams! I think he and Hans Zimmer are the best
"scorers" of today.

Alexander Courage was really a treasure in American music, not just film.

In whatever he did with music, he was a genius.

I made this video between Nov. 2005 and March 2006. There is a section devoted to the Jerry Goldsmith in part 3.

When was this documentary produced, because there's nearly no mention of the Alexander Courage/Jerry Goldsmith collaboration?
