I loved Bioshock, the first half of it.

After you start working against Fontaine, then it became bland. If they allowed you total free will in the second half of the game (the kind of free will you supposedly earned after meeting Andrew Ryan) it would have made things much more interesting. Instead of 3 different ending they could've had 10. Instead you just mindlessly follow a NEW voice in the second half of the game. Only now the gamer is aware that it makes no sense to do this.

Future review:

Bioshock Infinite isn't LIKE the first Bioshock, it IS the first Bioshock. Sure it looks different and it differs in the fine detailing and the character names are changed and shit, but the plasmids are now vigors, the gene tonics are now nostroms, the Big Daddies are now handymen, and the splicers are now Vox Populi. Everything that was steampunk then is still steampunk.

This review originally came out around the same time the game came out. So this review also came out before Fallout 3 did. So basically, yeah, he's referring to fallout 1 & 2. I haven't played either of those yet, so I'm not sure what parts of those games he's referring to.

Most of the game was just desert - that, or inside of a secret laboratory/complex, not under the sea. He could be referring to the fifties inspiration, in which case I believe he probably could have stated it more clearly but, then again, he did seem to be going for comic effect in that line anyway. ^^
