Serena's Song was named by Beverly Lewis before knowing that there was a handicapped girl named Serena yet they loved the connection once it was known during Serena's Song's racing career a portion of race earnings were donated . Seems like a few racing stories are blended here to create some urban legends!

I just really hate it when people have to lie. If you're gonna claim something like that at least you could get your facts straight. I would have had a better time believing you if you said you WERE the little girl lol. Anyway, yeah, I couldn't remember if it was Afleet or Serenas with the lemonade stand, but I DO know that they were both named after a little girl.

@jeremiah47 Serena's Song is not the dam of Giant's Causeway. Mariah's Storm is. However, she and Serena's Song are by the same sire, Rahy. However, Serena's Song has proven to be a pretty sucessul Broodmare in her own right. She has produced ten foals. Eight of them are winners. Five of them, Serena's Tune, Sophisticat, Arbitrate, Grand Reward and Harlington are stakes winners.

Cuz you DO know (obviously) that Bob and Beverly Lewis named her after a little handicapped girl who was raising money through lemonade stands for her cause. Nice try though. And IF by chance you ARE the little girl, then I commend you on continuing to overcome the odds.

Yes, Afleet Alex was named after a little girl named Alexandra who started a lemonade stand to raise donations for cancer research. Unfortunately she passed away just before Afleet Alex's awesome Preakness performance. Similiar story with Serena's Song, named after a disabled child, purse earnings going towards research. Pantherclaw's "story" is full of crap.

ur not gonna believe me, but the breeder of Serena's Song knows my dad! They named the horse after me, becasue it was born a couple days away from my birthday! It makes me proud to see Serena#2 racing! *sniff*

You're right, I don't believe you. First of all, Serena's song was not named after you because she was born a "couple of days away from your birthday"... If you were in the know, as you claim to be, you'd know that she was actually named after you because her owners donated a percentage of her winnings to the charity that researches your disabilty. Which disability would that be again?
