Hey I was wondering if the CPM FILM TOOLS DSLR Flyer Rig can be mounted on a tripod. If not, is there any modification to make it be able to do this? I just bought it and it is being shipped to me and I forgot to consider this before I bought it. Thanks!
@charlesfrankfilm You can mount it to a tripod. Just change the thumb screws out on the belly plate for Allen head screws and you'll be set. The local hardware store should have them and CPM has them on their website as well.
@CrowJellyFilms The follow focus is made by DFOCUS, google it should be one of the first links. My unit is an older model version 1, they have since release version 3 which is much nicer looking and the same price. There FF runs about $140 and there lens gears run about $20 a peace. Great little units.
@CYNFELYN23 I've got a video coming up on that as well. If I plan to color correct I usually use the marvel cine 3.3 with the contrast slightly adjusted. If not I just dial in the look i'm going for in camera and let the camera handle it (if you do this make sure you lock the white balance in). Thats the lazy way to go, and can be hard to repeat over multiple cameras but if i'm just shooting something for youtube like the video above it works fine and looks quit good with very little effort.
@JoshuaBeeLoved Nice! I normally keep my videos unlisted until they are done rendering and I've finished typing up the description. Its good to know you want to watch them enough to put up with the very low res 240 pre render view. Thanks guys!
@JoshuaBeeLoved If you do pick up a matte box take a look at the swing out types, they're much more useful on DSLR rigs. If you pick up a cpm rig then you could easily mount a swing out matte box on the top two rails which will leave you more room for a follow focus and other gear on the bottom rails.
is that an old dfocus?? i have one and it is WAY different

One of your best videos yet!
I'm learning about what picture styles to use ATM. What do you recommend?
Neutral - contrast and sharpness all the way down and saturation 2 stops down...?
Marvel Cine 3.3?

@onelonedork What are fans for? I want something like this with a Mattebox. I plan to attach this to a Steadicam Vest & Arm for smooth shots also!
