There's an even better shortcut at the beginning of the stage. Just turn left at the start and home attack on a hidden spring when you jump of the edge. It seems longer, but if you cut across the sand after the loop de loop (On your left), you will get to the vertical wall section a good 10 seconds shorter than your route.
