I can play a essboard too. playing the essboard might be a little bit easy to JUST ride than skateboard

essboard has a bigger angle than the ripstik, so the essboard can go faster(which takes muscle)but isn't as maneuverable for tricks. and the ripstik has a rubber and longer torsionbar. the essboard is shorter and is made of metal plastic that can do real grinds. and the essboard has rubber breaks in the back for you to stop. the american ones(including ripstik) don't have any. the ripstik has a curved nose, so it is easier for nose manuels. and the ripstik can be seen to have a better grip.
