  • Denny, where are you going?? XD 3:24

  • i love denny. (: and paul of course. i love how i love the beatles, and absoluteyl love their solos ... just in a different way

  • whos buying this garbage making this prick a billionaire

  • @flakbac shut the fuck! go suck a dick

  • i would like to be that blonde girl who's there with them.

  • @sarita336 Thats Linda McCartney, Pauls first wife who died, she was a great Lady...... l

  • @sarita336 Linda?

  • beatles were the best and paul was great in the 70s...but he also put out some bad material..like most of this song.... with the beatles they could pick from their songs and lennon mccartney of course worked so well together ...accordionreid i think lennon was also amazed that paul made a lot of nonsense fluff songs as well

  • I think that Denny sounds like George in this one.

  • ebery1 stop comparing them 2 the beatles mccartney said he never wanted wings 2 b as big as the beatles

  • I don't understand this need to compare artists.. 'A is much better then B' 'No A sucks'

As for John and Paul, they are both great. No need to put one above the other..

  • Denny Laine & Paul were great together

  • Horrible.

  • Got to be one of Denny's best contributions. He can write a nice song.

  • john loved and respect paul as paul did John, wish they hadn't wasted so much time apart. Saw an interview where John said he would take Shawn to Scotland in 81, broke my heart like hearing him say "Lets make the 80s good yeah!

  • @tricia7773 Sean? ;)

  • Excellent number from Laine from an equally excellent album. Didn't realise they did a promo vid for this song , well not so much a promo, just larking about, ha ha. Cheers for posting.

  • Honestly I don't think of wings as an extension of the beatles- it's great however.

Tho- I think Ringo has outsold them all yes?

  • jim keltner at the drums?

  • @foolonthehill1000 -

Steve Holley on drums, Laurence Juber on lead guitar.

This is a Denny Laine song (duhh!)

but he contributed to many other Wings tunes, more than

people are aware (which probably is the way Paulie wants it).

  • that day he were young.....but till now he have what other peoples dont

  • What a genius.

He's so cute and funny in this!!

  • this song together with the funk overload of reception is what got me really into wings

back to the egg is the masterpiece but there aint a really shit album in their whole output, albeit i am not a really big fan of band on the run there are still some great song on that album too, although the outout 75-79 is more right down funky, back to the egg is so laid back and so good, without even trying hard. DENNY LANE IS ONE SOLID ROCKER he kept the group together he was the backbone, no joke

  • Such a great album.... Back To the Egg... let us that KNOW that keep it to ourselves.... our secret. ;-)

  • What a great song!

  • To BAUBBLE99. The story as I recall it, was that the composition "Mull of Kintyre" was written by Paul and Denny and they shared publishing rights. But when Denny was hard up for cash, he sold his share in the publishing rights to Paul. Cheers!

  • Linda is gorgeous

  • Uh. No.

    Uh-uh. Wrong.

  • dawm denny laine kicks ass real good

  • this was my fave wings band

and denny was perfect for the band from the very biginning

  • those flowers are tall!

  • linda is so cute in this

  • i love it how they're just randomly in a field of flowers!

  • great song, so underrated!

  • Many famous writers have bought songs from their band members when the creative juices have run dry, it's common knowledge. I think DL claimed to have sold Mull of Kintyre to Macca - it certainly sounds like a DL song to me. Listen to some solo Denny Laine music. Then listen to the album where Denny sings some 'McCartney' Wings songs'.Very interesting.

  • ummm i always thought the beatles were the beatles ,,,, :)

  • why doesn't it have 5 stars? i gave five. that's classic

  • Go Denny, Go!

  • Paul WAS the Beatles... then he became Wings

  • no Lennon WAS the Beatles

  • Lennon was good but keep in mind.. he pretty much created rev 9 by himself. Paul wasn't the beatles Lennon wasnt the beatles, Ringo wasn't the beatles, and the other dude wasnt the beatles!

Keep that in mind floridajeet and hockey2325. It's a fucking team effort! YEAH!

  • The Beatles = McCartney , Harrison , Lennon , Starr , nothing more nothing less

  • @laloisaac, beautifully put!

  • @laloisaac i dont believe that. the unique style of the 4 beatles is what maked the beatles invincibles the ringo drum, the pauls classic style, the lennons inprovised style, the harrison unique guitar solos,

  • This sorry tune proves otherwise.

  • NO 2 both of u The BEATLES were thje beatles, they all had sucsesful carrers after da brakup.

  • I believe Lennon was amazed at Paul's success after the Beatles. Perhaps "amazed" is not the correct word, but "proud" of him (stated by Yoko) because he carried on the Beatles Legend better than the other three Beatles combined. It's a fact. His song writing ability in Albums, Singles, Videos, Number Ones, Film Songs, Classical, Solos, Alternate Music out distance the other three Artists.

  • @accordionreid Probably right and I love Paul, but this was a denny song, no doubt about it.

  • @accordionreid i believe harrison had the best solo career paul is way too pop form me with the wings

  • @accordionreid In fairness John would have too if he hadn't been rudely interupted by inpromptue death and George did his bit but ultimately you're right... and Ringo would have done a lot better if he'd stuck to drumming (which he was actually AMAZING at- he's so underated!) his solo career is just a bit foolish.

  • @mousesandwich I agree. Actually Ringo has performed and won awards for more recent achievements so his career is perhaps at its best and I think John and George would be very proud of him. Lennon wanted to do more in life than just playing music. His involvement in Politics and Art was very amazing and yes he would have out performed Paul in the artistic side of music in the eighties if his life would have been saved.

  • @accordionreid I'm not sure I'd even say that- actually I think I think Lennon and McCartney pretty much balance out in terms of talent. It's sad because what they did together was magic- better than pretty much anything- and what they did apart was only ever very good.

  • @mousesandwich I do not agree. According to Paul, Yoko stated that John was very proud of Paul and his accomplishments in the seventies. What John didn't know that the eighties and nineties up to Linda's death were even greater accomplishments with awards for not only popular music but classical music as well. Every time Lennon would compose an outstanding song, Paul would do better right after Paul wrote Yesterday, it seemed the edge went to Paul and Paul usually got the A Sides .

  • @accordionreid I don't think you can completel divide the songs they wrote in the Beatles because even if Paul wrote the majority of a song John would then add something small to it that took it from very good to great. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Paul's music then and now but I really don't think it can get better than what it was. Paul's my favourite Beatle- I'm not siding wih John just the two cobined.

  • @mousesandwich Yes I have read Hunter Davies book on the Beatles when I was in High School in the sixties and even in the song Yesterday they all (even Ringo) had a say what lyric or arrangement to put and the conclusion they all came to was to just have Paul do it solo because they regarded Paul's song as the best song he wrote thus far. But yes the songs mainly were teamwork and you look at Hey Jude and John suggesting lyric and the way it is played in their practices suggest it was together.

  • @accordionreid yes, correct, if you focus just on Paul...

  • John Lennon!!!

  • This song rocks! Go Paul!

  • This song is AWESOME! I LOVE IT!

  • but utterly good crap ...just fun

  • i like danny"s voice

  • I love this song, I love the Wings and I LOVE Paul

  • excelente

  • this is my favorite off of "the egg" album...

  • Could have been a hit for Denny, i think. I can see a Country and Western artist covering this. Perhaps Emmylou Harris. Just change "little woman" to little lover or something.

  • WINGS Awesome! A lot of people owe Paul an apology for YEARS of throwing tomatoes he never deserved and for chiding on his good wife too. You all negative hateful people will feel like crap when he's gone. Oh never mind. You already feel like crap about yourselves, that's why you do it to them. LOVE YOU PAUL!

  • well i always stood tall for Paul. Always have and always will. Oh, granted there's quite a few embarrising moments throughou t his solo work and a few dreadful albums too, but if anyone is owed the right to critique Paul, it's the fans like us who do so lovingly because we know he'll pull an ace out of his sleeve before long. No other artist has as big a catalog that is as scrutinized as McCartney's. Except maybe Dylan and he's had some pretty lackluster periods too.

  • True true! Thanks! It's good to hear honest critiques too. I'm sure he appreciates that kind of true listener and fan. I stand by ya as well in those good words! Best wishes! :D Jess

  • i really like back to the egg!

    its a great album

  • Absolutely. Bought it off the shelf when it came out & still have it! Great album.

  • Macca's just having fun! Relax!

  • LOVE Wings!

    Wow, short hair doo Paul!

Linda you were a great partner to Paul- and great in the band--RIP!

  • AMEN to that!!!!!

Denny is so underrated. Love him in the Moody Blues and Wings.

  • Love this SO freakin' much! Denny Rocks!!^^

  • Great song! Cute video too

  • I love WINGS ! Thanks !

  • great Wings song and Linda was a great woman, person and a big part in band, so get over it you Linda's haters :)

  • Great song, have to admit I have never heard it. Wish they had shown more of Laurence Juber! Great guitar guy.

  • Me too! Laurence Juber is one amazing guitarist.

  • The great last album by Wings. Saw the last gig at Wembly. It was good and Dennt was in fine form doing a vault over a grand piano. I like his songs but without wings we would never have herd them.

  • wings great band, this song is good. i wish people would give paul mc cartney more respect. he deserves it

  • This song as written by Denny Laine, but nevertheless you are damn right.

  • I sometimes wonder if the beatles hadn't broken up, if it would be somewhere between "Imagine" and this.

  • se parece al ritmo de varias de sus canciones y tambien a la cancion del no no de ringo star

  • Why in the world did he ever put Linda in the band. Ludicrous Linda!

  • Comment removed

  • @annaliese9 because he loved her and wanted her to be with him all the time, you are obviously not a big paul mccartney fan if you do not love the lovely linda too. she's great! <3 and she had a cool voice

  • @annaliese9 I agree with you. She had no vocal talent or musical talent for that matter. You don't see other bands putting their wives in their bands. It was stupid.

  • @donnys1girl Theoretically that's true, as it was when John shoehorned Yoko in some of his stuff. But most folks fail to realize that John and Paul's bands and songs weren't ordinary ones. These guys were musical juggernauts, and frankly it wouldn't have made much difference if they'd instead used as a backup member any grocery checker gal from the local A&P.

  • The Song is sooo great!!<3

  • never hoid this b4

  • Denny Laine never received the credit he deserved for his contributions to Wings.

  • Absoloutley agree, he co-wrote good lots of stuff with Paul, and they had good chemistry together. Wings was at its strongest with Denny. Im waiting for the reunion tour - yeah-right. Blimey Denny must have pissed off Paul somehow, not seen since 1982 ish ?.

  • I'd just like to point out to those who are complaining that Denny Laine's getting a lead vocal, that Wings was a group effort. McCartney was the main man of course but sometimes it was good to see him play back up, like on Medicine Jar when he let Jimmy McCulloch do the honours. And that's one of Wings' finest songs in my opinion.

  • Linda wasn't a "plain Jane"! I don't care what anyone says, she was beautiful inside and out. She's like my ideal woman!

  • mccartney is just fantastic he has inspired me to play piano guitar mandolin and ukele so thx a load paul!

  • There are only two Paul McCartney and Wings albums: 'Red Rose Speedway' and 'Band On The Run', both released in 1973.

All the others, including 'Back To The Egg'(one of my favourites), on which this track appears, are credited to just Wings.

    Just a small criticism.

Of course, there are people who don't know McCartney was in a group in the 70s, so putting his name first is understandable, I guess, but you know...most people aren't idiots.

  • This is a cool performance by Paul McCartney & Wings... outstanding. Heck, Linda was great, too. The whole group looked so free and easy.

  • Linda was a nice human being.you can state that with the things she did till she died.you can see love along her life.I love Paul and Linda!

  • Linda was a "plain jane", nothing special. I guess that being married to a rock star and being from a rich family (Eastman or Eastman-Kodak) can make anyone into a sex symbol.

  • She did not want to be anything. She just loved a man that wanted to be around her all the time. How is loving her husband something bad? And BTW she was cute, but never wore makeup. Take your Giselle or Kate or Naomi today and look at them without makeup and see how cute they are. Bottom line, she loved a man and brought up 4 very cool kids.

  • LInda's dad was a well-known attorney, no relation to Eastman-Kodak

  • She was not related in any way to Eastman Kodak. Her father's name was Lee Epstein, he changed it to Eastman, they had nothing to do with the company. She was Jewish. Her mother was rich, with money from a department store chain, her father was an entertainment lawyer. I just read "Blackbird" about McCartney, not a real flattering book about Paul and Linda.

  • I suppose that a girl like Linda was good for Paul. Being independantly wealthy, she was not some 'gold digger' who was out to enjoy the high life wiht a rich rock star.

I've got to read 'Blackbird'. It's good to hear something that is not flattering. This book may balance out other books written by McCartney/Beatles fans that are gushing and overly positive "they can't do wrong" stuff.

  • I stand corrected. True, Linda is 'pretty', plain and wholesome. Definitely not a tart. It touched me that Paul was in love with her and faithful to the end. Too bad he had to fall into the clutches of that 'model'.

  • Dude, Linda McCartney was neither stunningly beautiful nor "hideous," she was perfectly ordinary-looking. And why should it matter anyway?

  • Precisely.

  • Paul's "wooahh no" at 1:36 is... wow. Macca, you rule.

  • ... I crank up my new Roland Cube 60 and 'have at 'er' Eh! Totally easy song to rock over.

  • Linda was beautiful

  • promosounds. I totally agree with you. Linda was beautiful inside as well as out. She loved Paul and her family and she loved the animals. God Bless that lovely woman, and I hope that horrible Heather gets her come uppance.

  • oh, & mary had a little lamb.

    not sure about waterfalls either.

is there a lennon song thats embarrassing to say you used to listen to????

someone please invent spell check on you tube

  • waterfalls is an awesome song. and i have to admit, i'm kind of ashamed to say "woman is the nigger of the world". so like the other people said, rather than putting them in contest against each other just say, John and Paul beat everyone else so ha. end of story XD.

  • I'm embarrassed to say I listen to Oh Yoko. It's soooo high up. There is spell check. My computer has it.

  • each beatle had his own appeal to everyone.

maybe the words to how do you sleep say it all? i was into macartney when i was a kid but as ive ive aged, much prefer lennon & harrisons music by far.over the years though, ive loved it all except temporary secretay. i draw the line on that one.

  • maybe it's just me but i like that song ;).

  • And, not to add a note of derision to my feeling, but I can't help it... I believe in John. He could've written "Imagine" or prehaps something equally beautiful with or without Yoko. That woman gets waaay too much undue credit for everything that inherently talented man does, & I can't stand it. The only thing she can inspire someone to do is throw up. Plastic Ono Band. Plastic= fake. I can't help but wonder that it could be an allusion to the fakeness of Yoko Ono.

  • The Beatles would just not have been The Beatles with any one of its members out of place. And thats the miracle of it all... :)

  • Good God, need we all this silly arguament?? They were each brillian in their own way. When it comes down to it, there's no 'he's better' or 'he's the best,' etc. And anyway, I don't think The Beatles would measure the quality of a song based on whether its a 'hit' or not. Just look at one of their very eary interviews on some "Hit and Miss" show. Geeze. I would think a real Beatles fan would be a little less shallow... or at least not so hastily biased.

  • call me crazy but john and paul would not want you discussing this. Thes beatles were the greatest band ever and they both put equal effort into it. paul mcCartneys eleanor rigby and yesterday were great yes-but look at johns lucy in the sky with diamonds, help they were all great, but i have to say i think john had more hits with yoko such as 'imagine' and xmas is 'over'

but hey...im just a fan and that my opinion and every1s rite in a way i guess? long live the beatles.

  • I agree they are so different. Paul could never write songs with the raw intensity of "Mother" "Working Class Hero" or "Crippled Inside" those songs resonate and are so introspective. I'm also a major Paul fan...the differences between them is what made the Beatles so amazing!!! I love them both so much

  • Just because Working Class Hero and Crippled Inside are introspective doesn't make them good. Mother is a great song but the other two are bleh. They have Bland written all over them.

  • I like too much Crippled Inside, The truth is always difficult to hear. But that song is actual in many aspects.

  • Well,I will only comment that they (Lennon & McCartney)were equals.Equally great vocalists, song writers and musicians. Can you picture the Beatles without either one? They simply wouldn't be the Beatles.

  • McCartney is vastly superior to John in vocals and musically.

  • That my friend is entirely a matter of opionion, not science.I personally like both, but then again I am biased. Both John and Paul are great singers ,songwriters and musicians.

  • Technically, Paul WAS more musically accomplished - he could play more instruments (and his voice was amazing!)

  • Technically, John was great at the guitar and piano and his voice was also very amazing, not to mention his song writing skills.I'm Not comparing them as I love them both and they are great in their own way.

  • John was a good guitarist, but he was NOT a good pianist. He even said himsef that he preferred writing songs on the piano, because he was less familiar with it and less likely to fall into well used chord patterns.

  • if you say so, You don't know about music!

  • well you must be the expert.I guess anyone that has a different opinion than your's is wrong? As if you actually know anything at all.

  • at least i can accept that paul was better on the piano than John. You won't accept it because you don't want to asume your mistake.

Saying that Lennon was a great pianist means that you don't know about piano

  • True.

  • @Macca1969 that's just rubbish!

  • @DoNotObey1

Nope. McCartney had more range to his voice and he didn't need an echo machine like John to hide behind. Plus Paul was the only beatle to keep superstar status after The Beatles. That's because of McCartney's vastly superior writing skills.

  • @Macca1969 gotta disagree with you. Paul wrote some great "pop" songs after the Beatles, but that's exactly what they were "pop" songs. As great a tune Silly Love Songs, or Let Em In were there's no depth to them. Just polite singable and enjoyable songs. whereas John wrote songs like God, Mother, Give Me Truth, Freeda People, Working Class Hero, Old Dirt Road, and Out the Blue. He may not have made the Top 40 as often, but his songs were certainly deeper than anything Paul ever wrote.

  • @zeets93 correct .... paul was a pop songwriter and so was destined to have more chart success.... John Lennon was an artist which meant following his muse into some dark places... Lennon's songs cut into your soul where McCartney writes toe tappers. both talented beyond reason but John was much more of an authentic artist... some of his songs took actual courage because they cut so close to the bone.

  • @JerichoDitch2 That's a load of rubbish.

  • @zeets93 Paul wrote about deep subjects. He just wasn't as obvious about it. You obviously don't know the connection of his songs his songs to his life. Little Lamb Dragonfly, Dear Friend, Too Many People, Dear Boy, Three Legs were about John and the breakup of the group. Maybe I'm Amazed was as deep as anything John wrote. Other examples: Another Day, Heart of the Country, Give Ireland Back to the Irish, Man We Was Lonely, Tomorrow, Let Me Roll It, Calico Skies, Fine Line, Little Willow,

  • @dachille1 actually you're wrong I'm a huge McCartney fan and am well aquanted with all his music. And yes he has his share of "deep" lyrics, but nearly as many as John. Paul was always about the melody John was about the message. I doubt very much that Paul would have ever written How Do You Sleep or Cold Turkey.......and really as great a song as Another day is, there's nothing "deep" about it. The opening lick to Let Me Roll It is a blatant rip-off of Cold Turkey!

  • @zeets93 Let Me Roll It is a different riff. It was meant to be a tribute to John's sound. Only Paul could pull off such a thing. Besides my point was about lyrics. Another Day is about a girl who is torn between keeping her dignity and self-esteem and the corrupt mores of the day. She sleeps with men who love her and leave her alone with a profound sense of loneliness and emptiness. What is so shallow about that? It is a very touching track that obviously went over your head.

  • @dachille1 actually it's the same, same chord pattern and progression. There's a million songs in the same vain as Another Day i.e. Pussy Willow by Jethro Tull......there's nothing "deep" or profound about that message. I guess you didn't notice that i am a McCartney fan, I just prefer Lennon's stuff. I find it "deeper" while Paul is more on the pop side. AND I never said there was anything wrong with being on the pop side. I doubt very much Paul ever had GOD, Mother, Love, etc. in him

  • @zeets93 I might add that Paul could never come up with I don't Wanna Be A Soldier, Power to the People, Instant Karma, How, or Real Love. By the same tokken John would never be able to pull off London Town, or With A Little Luck. Don't know why this offends you so.

  • @zeets93 I admit the riff is very similar. I think it was a tribute to John. At that time they were becoming friends again. As for the song Love, it is just a simple love song, one that Paul could do in his sleep. God is just a series of lines about what he doesn't believe in. How about Paul's song Garland for Linda where he talks to God and asks if he is real-then he answers his own question as he sees God in nature, in beauty, in his children, in other people. It is very profound.

  • @dachille1 Yes Let Me Roll It is similar, but the lyrics really aren't that deep. God isn't just a series of lines about what John didn't believe in. In a sense he was telling anyone who listened that nothing in this world...at that point in time...mattered to him except himself and Yoko. The very fact that he said I don't believe in Beatles probably shook up alot of people. And yes i do pay attention to Paul's lyrics, but on the whole John had a;ways written deeper more insightful songs.

  • @zeets93 Musically Soldier, Power to the People, How are dull and uninteresting. Paul's songs are almost always interesting musically and if you take the time and don't run past his lyrics without realizing they are often deeper that you see at first glance, you will find his lyrics are not shallow. Lady Madonna is a tribute to women. Hey Jude tells us not to be afraid of life and of falling in love. Calico Skies is an anti-war song. Little Willow is a moving story about a death in the family.

  • @dachille1 I'm well aware of the maening behind many of Paul's songs. John's songs were always "simple" To say they're dull I disagree. Sorry Lady Madona is not a "deep" song. Hey Jude obviously had a deeper meaning that even John acknowleged...since it was directed towards Julian Lennon. But you can still write songs with "meaning" that come off as "fluff" i.e. Ebony and Ivory.....great message, horrible song. And that's what the majority of Paul's songs are. Fun, poppy, catchy.......

  • @zeets93 ....and if you really want to dig, then yes there's probably a message there. Whereas John's song's hit you right in the face. No digging it's all laid out in front of you. No middle ground......this is what I'm saying, this is what I believe, take it or leave it. Paul's song's......even his "deep" ones aren't like that. They're "user friendly". If you don't catch the meaning youstill get a great melody and tune. If you catch what he's saying then it's a bonus.

  • I think it's the "again and again and again" of the Lennon's Woman

  • lol, the guy on the drums looks like a Hobbit. cute though.

  • Oh, and also... save your criticism for ppl that are ruining our culture: like the worst of rap and other such things.

  • Hey, that man's pretty damn good at singing. But I thought Paul was gonna sing it... Still very nice though. And I just wanna listen to this song again and again and again. =)

  • oh shit paul, why did u let sing Denny Laine when wings was getting ending!!

  • Thanks for the post! I'd never seen this video though I've always dug the tune. Denny Laine doesn't get enough credit for Wings' sucess.

  • Hogwash!!! they were equally intelligent and talented. They were friends and partners. They wrote most of their songs together.

  • I understand this was shot in Scotland near the McCartney's farm.

  • does anyone where in England this was filmed at?

  • i like paul mccarthney.cliff richard.shakin stevens.beatles.cream.hollies
