  • They can't say the gun myth is busted they did not test it properly in the same conditions..

When they did the trials with methane then gun was outside of the "room", I think if the gas had time to seep in to the barrel and the chamber of the gun, ignition would be more likely even with methane.

  • the super high speed fotage of the muzzle flash is not from the same set... the camera they broke is more like fotages from a viewty cell phone slow motion effect

  • why not break the front windshield while it was facing upwards towards the surface? if you get cut, at least you don't drown

  • @noodlespagoodle While that is a good idea, they were testing the worse case of a full rollover in this episode. They went through a lot of the window breaking tests in the other episode. Not as easy as you would think.

  • they should have tried the guns inside the room each time with the methane gas

  • My parents call me crazy for having a window breaker in my glove compartment. They do not watch Mythbusters.

  • @Maiyrhia Man I should get one of those

  • Diver Don doesnt give a shit while the car sinks :)

  • I bet their insurance company loves them.

  • But if the windshield breaks with the impact, one could escape that way.

  • @Macfanize

The windshield did break with impact. The trouble is, modern windshields are shatter-resistant - even after the glass shatters, non-glass layers hold it more or less intact. I can't say for sure, but I definitely wouldn't rely on getting out through the windshield, even if it broke on impact.

  • the best thing to do is to get out as fast as you can DO NOT WANT

  • lol 2 mins later the diver still wasnt at the serface

  • carry a knife and blast out the window, swim out

  • Any one else realize the milk wasn't to prevent muzzle flash from setting the room on fire it was to soak the lighter so IT couldn't set the room on fire.

  • "This is way more volatile than the methane. The H in H-Bomb stands for Hydrogen"

    *cringe*

  • thank god i have a window smasher in my car.

  • LOL 1:46 Tori just went straight for the back... and Grant was like "Poosh"

  • There is a reason why the car turtles.......... Its called air in the tires........ smfh

  • The first thing I would be doing as soon as I hit the water would be trying to put down my electric windows before the circuit is affected (the car sinks too much).

  • I wonder if it would be smarter to stay in your seat and roll down the window with the car still on once it's submerged

  • @maytrian I agree: opening window will level the pressure and than you can open door

  • I'm getting a window breaker!

  • thats crazy!! when i get my liscense im definately keeping an air supply with me in the car :p

  • I really take my hat off to Adam. He might sometimes act stupid for the camera, but he stayed surprisingly calm throughout a REALLY dangerous situation.

  • And that's exactly why I'm buying a cabriolet.

  • damages $200k+ of camera

"omg the muzzle ignited the gas"

    lol I love this show

  • @DyingElement mythbusters dont pay shit its the directors and camera crew who risk getting the shots mythbusters say just dont get in our way if camera break your problem

  • Adam almost didn't make it

  • @cowancookies That's true. Mythbusters can really come up with some driver ed oriented videos to teach us what should happen if our car suddenly lands in water.

  • Mythbusters should test if people with ADHD react better in stressful situations than regular people.

  • haha, there goes their bullet proof box.

  • well.....i can't swim soo....tehehe?

  • Rollable windows anyone?

  • soon as the car hits the water... roll window down... i dont understand the people drowning in a car unless they're drunk or unconcious, it really is not that hard to "escape"

  • @jrcoopr shock probably delays that reaction and by the time they've processed what's happening it might be too late?

  • @jrcoopr Please put a camera in your car and drive in to a lake, up to proof tough guy!

  • @jrcoopr

lol, I guess it doesn't seem that hard when you're sitting in a chair, watching Youtube videos.

  • he got peed on

  • lol the camera upside down is very weird like how the water fills

  • Kari grant and tori used just methane not natural gas which has different flammable hases

  • ok what i dont undstand why not just roll the window down and get out that way

  • @llthpofh Pressure is pushing against the window the same way it's pushing against the door i guess.

  • Kicking out a side / rear window would probably be very difficult, but what about the windscreen when it started leaking?

  • What's a window breaker, Australian and under 16... No idea what it is

  • @Amelia67445 Have you ever been on a bus? They always have a window breaker next to the emergency exits. It is basically a little hammer designed to smash windows.

  • that's not how H-bombs work... ಠ_ಠ

  • Why not smash the back window and crawl through there?

  • I'm not exactly sure i would call the car myth confirmed (the part where u would need more time/air) because theres also a factor of how long someone can hold their breath, somem people may or may not be able to hold their breath longer than adam

  • Wow. ... when I pass my driving test, I'm keeping a window breaker in the car...

  • "She can, but not in mint condition" LOL

  • Remember they took out the engine. So the car would have sunk even faster.

  • @norvalDNA

they replaced the engine with barbell weights so it sinks just as fast

  • @norvalDNA lol, um... no they put weights in lol

  • I always keep a knife handy, for work going out in the woods, or protection, keep it right where i can grab it easy while driving. If i ever go in, if i can just roll the window down, and climb out im doing that if not, I have the knife to break the window. Just remember don't ever try to break the windshield, won't work.

  • @GhostInTheShell29 I do have a switchblade as well. I would probably use the switchblade itself to knock out a window.

  • could he have wound down the windows to fill the car faster? every second counts imo

  • @brendanraymond They tried that last time iirc - you can not do that due to immense friction caused by the pressure difference pushing the window against the frames.

  • @brendanraymond (0.o) That sounds like a good idea.

  • @brendanraymond they thought about that with the frist car sinking myth but it turns out the windows dont work underwater as the pressure prevents them from moving

  • @PeteShamrock101 no not true i've had this happen to me in 10 feet of water the truck or van i was in went down in 80sec yes it was hard to roll the window but i got out

  • @llthpofh i said this cause the mythbusters tested the car window opening under presser and could'nt open it. I guess they did'nt try hard enough or over looked something....my bad sorry.

  • Adam could have survived if he had SHUT HIS MOUTH. He survived the right side up sink cause he didn't say much and he stayed calmed

  • I wanna cook with hydrogen

  • Can a person brake the window when their car is submerged in water?

  • @kingkong8974

I don't think so. Because you wouldn't be able to get up enough pressure in your arms to break the glass. I think you would need to purchase a hammer specifically made for those situations. Something requiring less pressure to break the window while under water.

  • 1:40 I love how they react like little kids who just broke someone's window, just to a couple of seconds later realize they were actually DOING THEIR JOB and nobody was going to scold them. LMAO.

  • @666BestrafeMich666 Most cars open windows with electricity. Plus the car would probably have filled before the window was open enough to swim through.

  • If the car was a hatchback would it be easier? or just as hard with the water pressure pushing down on the trunk?

  • So why is it that they didnt OPEN the window? its not like there wasnt time

  • I think they are all in big trouble for breaking the high-speed camera!

  • @VocalTrance842317109 at $250,000 a camera i would be pissed too

  • they have also stoped kari's dream of keeping the doll house

  • "hey we're just starting. we have another gun"

  • Mythbusters also tested that even if your car battery is submerged you could still roll down the window, but if you had a hand crank it would be better.

  • Guess ill take an air can when driving.

  • @kangoroo0123 or u can keep a commerical window braker as adam sugguested

  • Wow got to get me a window breaker

  • Kary TOry and Grant should have put the nose of the gun IN the MILK CARTON and then they should have shot the round, i bet the room wouldnt explode because as grant said there is a wave in front of the nose when it is fired , obviously the wave would try to push the carton away resulting in more contact with hydrogen and blow it up

I know it is not what the myth says but they should have tried it just 4 fun!

  • could adam have used the car keys to break the windows?

  • @dycarbon1 It would be very hard to break windows with keys. The water slows down your arm swing and you have to hit the window hard with a sharp point. An automatic center punch is a good tool to use.

  • @HaloWorshipper

    Hydrogen flame is invisible

  • @HaloWorshipper hydrogen burns a transparent blue type of color. it is harder to see

  • WOW! That shit looks scary! Respect to Adam!

  • thank you 4 uploading! =)

  • i would have peed myself.

  • cool

  • nice
