@aseglkj Let's see, no videos of your own, your favorite vids are guys drinking milk, Family Guy, and rat infestations........LOL!!! I don't think I'll get too jealous about your wild and exciting ride through life either.
I have the split pea lighter and the only problem I see with it is how long it lasts between fillups. It only lasts about a week if not used and even less if used. That's the price you pay for a small product of this size. Not much area for fuel means wont last long. Other than that it is a great product
I got a split pea but the spring does not give enough pressure to push the flint against the sparker. Help? Replace the spring? I dont know what to do.
I too got the split pea lighter from county comm when I received it it was brown around the flint area and smelled like it had been used already..but it works just fine none the less
Great vid. I know your a 'performance oriented guy' regarding your materials (ie aluminum over titanium for your SST-50 flashlight). As you may or may not know the peanut lighters now come in titanium as well. Cost considerations completely aside which material would you prefer for performance, the titanium or stainless steel versions? Does stainless heat up faster and retain heat longer? Or perhaps its not a consideration given the apparent throw of the flame?
@casimirrx Sorry bud, forget to sign off of my nephew's account. Thanks! Cost aside, I'd take Ti in this case. It's very durable, lighter weight and there are no thermal concerns to speak of in this case.
@Patriot36 i just got it and i have the titainium version and btw why is the lighter part look like its made out of plastic (i mean the top of the insert) and why is it loose on mine? the top part is moving from the bottom of the insert
@Patriot36well i pused it back in... also i hav a warning... dont use it too long with the insert sticking out even a tiny bit or the fuel will vaporize and come out of the sides of the insert... makes a good torch though... why do i use dots?....
does your lighter have a bend in the metal too. ( at the base of the lighter where you add the fuel). mine has two splits about an 1/8 of an inch long and about an 1/8 of apart. the area between these splits is what is bending out slighly
@survivalexpert93 I think this is what provides the tension for the fuel cell inside the body of the outer portion. Completely normal if I'm understanding correctly.
@airsoftgunsandknives The zippo wicks are all around better. Longer, longer lasting, you don't need much sticking out to make a good size flame...I believe their cheaper, too.
yeah these are good. i took a regular zippo to 10,000 ft on a hiking trip and it dried out in one day. felt pretty heavy in my pocket after that, being useless.
there should have been a little piece at the top of the spring that gives you the right tension but whatever works for you

I saw why its not scratching. Most of the stuff on your biner is plastic from your edc backpack video so that might be why but im not fully sure
acmadsen 1 week ago
@acmadsen It definitely has scratched up a bit since this video. Sort of what one would expect over time for stainless steel.

Got some questions about the small one:
1. How its called?
2. There are gas leaks like zippo? any other problems?
3. Can you test how much time the fire turned on when its full of gas?
jpxole 5 months ago
How much do they cost
RRN1999 6 months ago
@RRN1999 Sorry, guess I forget to mention that. Depends on the material and size but they range from $15 to $29 if I remember correctly.

@thmauth Sure replace the spring or just send it back to CC and ask them to replace it.

instead of fiddling with it you can just flip the flint around to the untouched flat side, same as any other zippo or reusable lighter

i heard that after a while the peanut lighters wick wont light anymore
have you had this problem ???
slipknot1566 1 year ago
@slipknot1566 I haven't run into this issue yet. The split pea light is carried by me at work on a daily basis.
Patriot36 1 year ago
@slipknot1566 you can just by a ronson wick almost anywhere.

are these better than a jet lighter in your opinion
and also how hard is it to get a zippo wick and flints
if you know please respond because these are really cool
thanks :)
slipknot1566 1 year ago
@slipknot1566 They're not as effective as a jet lighter. Flints and wicks can be had anywhere where zippo is sold. I use these as back up lighters.

I put charcol lighter fluid in there . I get spark put I don't get a flame . Any thoughts

@septawarrior Try some Ronsonal Lighter Fuel, or any fuel meant for Zippo's.

thats pretty cool. those water proof?
koston240life 2 years ago
@koston240life
Yes, they sure are and the fluid won't evaporate like what happens with a zippo either. They're actually very reliable.
