@comicbookfan: Terry Funk was a GREAT WRESTLER in his prime in the 1970s and 1980s. He had a true second career with the hardcore stuff in IWA Japan, FMW and ECW. So Sting hasn't done no-rope barbed-wire explosion matches, that shouldn't be held against him. Consider that Terry Funk titled his autobiography "More Than Just Hardcore." Mick Foley put Sting over very well in "Have a Nice Day." He certainly achieved much more than his Blade Runners partner Rock (Ultimate Warrior.)

@ENRIQUEJULIOIGLESIAS: Sting as the Crow singlehandedly got me interested in watching WCW in 1997, as I had been watching WWE exclusively when I got back into watching wrestling in 1995 after largely ignoring it from 1988-1995.
Regardless, he's my pick for the wrestler of the 90's. He was a superstar throughout the 90's and won his first world title in 1990 & kept winning them in 92, 93 (briefly in London & dropped it in Dublin), and 94. In 91 & 95 he became U.S. champ and was tag team champ in 1996. In 97 he won the world title again. He would have won many more if Hogan didn't come to WCW or if they kept both world titles.
Sting's best matches were against Vader and Vader's best matches at least in the United States were definitely against Sting. I miss the matches between those 2. I also despise the Crow gimmick since Sting was never as athletic as he once was back when he wore the colorful attire. Had he not wasted his time with the Crow gimmick which kept him out of action for about half of 1996 & most of 1997, he could have won so many more titles.

back when sting first came to the NWA, he was one of a kind for sure, other than the Road Warriors.. before Sting the NWA mostly had wrestlers like Wahoo McDaniel, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, and Ivan Koloff, but when Sting came on he brought a whole new idea and a new style to the NWA. even back then i knew they would make a major hero with him kinda like the WWF/WWE, was doing with the Ultimate Warrior. but i thought Sting would be around for a long time, but not this long.
I hope not... I wouldn't mind if WWE inducted him because it'd be awesome to see the guy who never had to go to the WWE in order to make it. Regardless He is still my favorite of all time

Remember WCW was Ted Turner, Atlanta, GA, my hometown, so This was my dude right here back in the day and still now. Me and my friend recreated this legend for the PS3 game Legends of Wrestlemania, so Sting can go against those great ones of his era that he didn't face. :)

i always thought the team of sting/luger was very interesting from a storyline aspect. sting was a face, luger a heel. yet there was no tension, no animosity just teamwork.

back when sting first came to the NWA, he was one of a kind for sure, other than the Road Warriors.. before Sting the NWA mostly had wrestlers like Wahoo McDaniel, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, and Ivan Koloff, but when Sting came on he brought a whole new idea and a new style to the NWA. even back then i knew they would make a major hero with him kinda like the WWF/WWE, was doing with the Ultimate Warrior. but i thought Sting would be around for a long time, but not this long.

This man right here is the GREATEST WRESTLER never to wrestle for the WWF/WWE. I grew up off of him for real. Remember WCW was Ted Turner, Atlanta, GA, my hometown, so This was my dude right here back in the day and still now. Me and my friend recreated this legend for the PS3 game Legends of Wrestlemania, so Sting can go against those great ones of his era that he didn't face. :)

Ya know I'm really sick of hearing that I love the early colorful Sting just as much everybody else but, you should know in the mid late 90's wrestling was changing and Sting embraced that. I don't think it seemed desperate at al it was a great marketing ideah and it totally rebuilt Sting's career. It may not of been the most orginal ideah but, it worked and that's all that matters and it pulled in a shit-load of ratings.
