Its almost impossible to justice to all this using the medium of these silly comment boxes, however You are saying we as though you alone are symbolic of what you consider to be American values. Its a little more complicated than that.
Actually over 1.5 million Iraqis - most of whom were innocent children - were murdered under the banner of these values let alone all the thousands of young US soldiers and for nothing more than oil and Middle Eastern conquest and Cheneys bank account so lets not start down that road.
The idea that America / Europe attacked itself IS a "ridiculous idea" on the face of it. Yes, it sounds very stupid, I agree. Actually, my focus was on the dynamics within Iraq rather than domestic operations but in fact, the same rule applies; US citizens (and soldiers) have always been expendable for the "greater goals" of certain "elite" on both sides of the Atlantic.
But we have to separate the idea that the American people, the American government, the establishment and its agencies are all the same. They are not. What you are spoon-fed in the US media bears no relation at all to reality.
