Pastor you just read rigth thru 2 Thess 1:3 That day will not come unless the falling away comes first and the man of sin is revealed the son of perdition. That is so clear that Christ won't return before these two events take place why did you skip that verse.
@TheDeepsea79 Because most baptist are already post tribulation rapture believers and rightly so. He didn't need to go into detail for his congregation because they know about us being gathered to Christ after the tribulation of those days. I can't believe that people still think that the great tribulation is the wrath of God. Nowhere else in the bible does God use the devil to execute His wrath. Nowhere. Same for the tribulation. We are appointed to tribulation as believers. Christ did it 4 us.
@LauderdaleBaptist The vid ur commenting on is a baptist preaching post-tribulation rapture. I've meet many baptist who r rightly post-tribulation believers b/c they don't like to sugar coat the truth. The pre-tribulation rapture is a comfortable idea & that's the only reason y its become so popular. You can't prove pre-tribulation rapture & if you try u just end up jumping around the pages of the bible trying to twist & mix verses to fit such a lie. The tribulation isn't God's wrath look it up.
@LauderdaleBaptist We are not appointed to wrath, but we are appointed to tribulation. The bible says we'll have tribulation in many verses. He didn't call those 7 yrs the great wrath of God. He called it 'our' great tribulation. You give believers a false hope saying we're raptured b4 then. They won't expect to see the anti-christ (2Thes 2:1-4 say we will before we're gathered up by Christ). You're setting them up for failure & hell! In the holy name of Christ don't teach this lie of satan!
@LauderdaleBaptist Oh okay, well maybe that's why this pastor skipped those verse that @TheDeepsea79 mentioned that made me even make a comment in the first place. Because those verses are clear to show a post tribulation rapture. Most pre tribulation believers never look into this for themselves, they just echo what their pastors tell them is true. Pastors, even Godly ones are still human and will make mistakes. Look into it 4 urselves. I use to b pre trib, until I read the bible.
@LauderdaleBaptist Please look at scripture & see; Matthew 24:15 talks about the abomination of desolation (AofD). After the AofD it talks about the rapture in Matthew 24:30-31. The AofD is established at the same time the daily sacrifices r taken away in Daniel 11:31. The daily sacrifices r taken away halfway through the tribulation in Daniel 9:27. The bible shows that there's no rapture before the AofD & that the AofD doesn't occur until halfway through the great trib. Christ be with you.
@uppercutter21 Good response. The preacher made a mistake in stating that the rapture will occur prior to the revealing of the antichrist. Indeed, the rapture will take place BEFORE judgement day, but not prior to the man of sin desecrating the temple.
@GizmoChicho I agree & I wouldn't make an issue out of it except for the fact that preaching a pre trib rapture is deceiving the members of the church. It's probably not intentional deceit but that doesn't make it any less dangerous. It gives people a false hope that they won't have to prepare themselves for, or face the great trib. They also won't be looking out for the antichrist b/c they believe the rapture will occur b4 he's revealed. It's good that ur aware of the truth my friend. God bless
@uppercutter21 I believe it's dangerous doctrine as it keeps many in the dark—perhaps why on that Day many will say, "Lord, lord..."—having lived a life of sin, even dying in sin. One has to walk in Christ, abiding in the Spirit, and in love with God the Father. If these folks can't clearly see what the Bible teaches, then what makes anyone think they'll be ready to die for Christ? Deception in the last days will abound, especially once the man of sin reveals himself & works wonders. ~Acts 17:11
@GizmoChicho I agree completely. The bible says that there will b a great falling away from the faith in the end times. It seem that many will turn away from their faith in a short period of time. I think this will happen, somewhat, b/c many r waiting on the rapture. It also says that the antichrist will send them a great delusion & since they wont b looking out for him they're going to fall for it. Not many people that say they're Christian really act like it.
@LauderdaleBaptist That last comment wasn't referencing those specific passages, but the other passages in the bible, loosely. I know what Chapter 2, vs 1-5 of 2nd Thes means. It's saying the rapture won't occur until this apostasy (falling away) comes first, and the antichrist is revealed to the world. His revealing is halfway through the tribulation when he takes away the sacrifices. God's wrath comes just after the great trib which believers won't suffer through.
@LauderdaleBaptist U can believe that but that's simply not biblical. Our gathering together with the Lord won't occur until the falling away comes first and the man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed to the world. The one that sits on the earthly throne of God & claims to be God. The bible shows that the antichrist doesn't demand worship as God until halfway through the great tribulation when he takes away the daily sacrifices and turns on the Jewish people. God bless.
I will expect Christ to come back when the Bible says so... In Revelation 11:1-15. After the 2 witnesses are killed by the antichrist. Then Christ comes back, its scripture!!
THE RETURN OF THE LORD WILL NOT COME UNTIL SATAN COMES PRETENDING TO BE CHRIST. 2 Thessalonians 2.
READ MATTHEW 24!!
29Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days... 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven.
@LauderdaleBaptist No sir, but I see it started in 1844 right when Margaret Mcdonnel started the Rapture Theory... Did you know no one practiced "rapture ready" before that time?? The rapture started in 1844, hmm, but the Bible was written before then.. Who to believe..
