  • Nuthin like a big block chevy

  • WEAK, my small block street car has more hp and drives all day.

  • Lucky motor: stroked and blown at the same time!

  • MOPAR

  • yeah that belt looks a tad loose

  • thats weak!!!! my 468 with one 1350 makes more than that! no blower.

  • lol how rice is that engine!

  • It´s beautiful

  • I like it. Except i would have put an 8 or 10-71 blower on it so you wouldnt have to spin it as fast

  • you got those pred. carbs workin great...always had a bad expeirence with them....

  • my dads 454 big block goes up to 800-850 horsepower!

  • nice flying toilets on top:) wonder why no one ever uses them anymore. Lack of having to tune is nice

  • First time I've seen predators on a blown engine. . any special changes you have to make to them to work on top of a blower?

  • Predators actually work best on blown engines, no tuning required. Look at the old Bigfoot, used 3 Predators!

  • damn now if i could only fit that in my sand rail

  • American Muscle.

  • now this is an engine.

  • saab guy, I'll cut you some slack... you clearly just don't understand what you see here.. at all clearly, you just don't understand

  • fuck you ricer bitch

  • ricer???i would love to seea ricer put a BB chevy with a 6-71 in a civic...it would twist the unibody on the first crack of the throttle

  • I was replying to somebody. it wasn't about the video.

  • It would be fun to see though! The whole "car" turning around the crank! XD

  • fucken ricer piece of shit. you can take your shitty saab and run it into a wall. you couldn't handle American muscle.

  • ya u can see that fucking belt flappin..not good lol

  • Next time, read the description :)

  • i read the description, so whats your point? i was agreeing with it. :)

  • gay

  • im just asking but-is that a detroit diesel 6v-71 supercharger

  • I dunno, it makes power, sounds cool as well, but turbos have proven to be the better choice. Big huffers like that are the Ford flathead of power adders. Uh oh, some guy's gonna mention Top Fuel funny cars.....

  • Top fuel cars don't use roots type (flat head) blowers anymore they use twin lyscrum type produces alot less heat which translates into more power per lb of boost

  • That's be Lysholm, twin screw type. Much higher adiabatic efficiency.

  • You are right it's Lysholm not Lyscrum I should have known that i used to sell Whipple chargers.

  • tup fuels do use roots. alocohol cars use the screw design

  • I used to sell a smaller type of twin screw supercharger so I know what they look like inside. The last nationan drag race in my area I got a pit pass and watched a TOP FUEL engine being tore down it had a twin in it

  • some body should stick a big ass engine like that in a car that looks like a joke and go race some idiots on the street. lol.

  • i want to drop that in a 1988 Lincoln mark VII LSC lol...if it could all fit under the hood thatd be a real sleeper...

  • that's surely a killer!! AWESOME!!!!

  • there nice.

    but spendy spendy spendy$

nice motor by the way. id love to have one in my camaro like that =D

  • camaro its crap long live to cuda and charger

only the camaro ss 1967 its hot

  • nah man its all about the 69 nova! lol

  • Hey i'm a Mopar guy too but the 1969 yenko is the hottest camaro ever. All aluminum 427 dry sump oil system 10sec. E.T.s to bad they only made 69 of them

  • read another book

  • more fuel= more power...you need more air to burn more fuel so thats where the blower comes in..

  • you can use less fuel and make more horsepower. the problem with this though is that the charge is so much hotter that it melts pistons. so, no, more fuel isn't necessarily more power. more air always makes more power.

  • so in gear-head terms, run lean make more hp, but detonate pistons?

yes more air makes more power, really? all a engine is a glorified air pump!

  • no shit watson

  • so if your theroy is correct if I bought Holley carb and jetted it as high as i could i would make more power......im afraid your mis-informed. the proper amount of fuel in an engine will make power, too much fuel and you lose power too little and you lose power. The best rule of thumb is do your research, In this case they have what look like duel edelbrocks fueling 10lbs(a guesstimate proably higher) with an over-all flow rating of well over 1000CFM,ideal fuel mixture being 14air:1fuel

  • Or you could of course compress more air AND fuel into the mix by adding supercharger, turbo chargers etc. More of both is a good thing, until you blow something up =]

  • then you just rebuild it. ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • more air=more power!!

  • can someone please explain to me what the blower actualy does im new to this stuff

  • Great vid, looking arround for my 78 linc that needs a new engine.

  • Are those Predator carbs?

  • Yes on Predator. Great for off-road or off-shore... if I put this into a street rod I would go with Holly or something a little lower profile. The scoop is over your roof.

  • Ok, Thanks for the reply.

  • @MichaelRooney I have a pair of Predators on a tunnell ram on a BBC in a 69 GTO... they are awesome on the street as well. though you are correct might be a little high..... I have video of my GTO, would love to have built a blown BBC for it and still use the predators.... :) Just saying

  • DAYUM that engine gets some very high no-stress rpms

  • runs quite lean on top..

  • but not too lean because the headers never turned cherry. Leaner = power.

  • now thats a fucking motor none of this 4 2jz shit

  • now THAT is a motor.

  • 468 big block chevy

    love it

  • excellent showmanship of American engine quality.

  • what fuel is this beast made to run on? pump gas i hope. its gonna be expensive to run it on anything but damn that 110 octane now. it is sky high.

  • you can get it to run on race fuel or alchohal butt the alchohal wont be leagel for you to run

  • It's important that people realize that power levels are based on the parts you use and the engine design as a whole. Its looks to me as if this engine was assembled with good reliable parts that have proved their way over the years and still have a place in this industry, anyone can disclaim another persons product, there,s a place for everything.

  • good job you suck

  • forget the numbers, not mutch sounds better than 8 cylinders with a pump on top...on gas i hope.

  • Sounds rough! Doesn't sound good at all.

  • poor

  • Idles nice...what are the cam specs? What is the LSA angle?

  • as a GM fan, the only hp that matters is daily driver, street, stock muscle. top 20 of all time? 9 Mopar (2 tied for 12th) 8 GM, only 2 Ford (sorry) no.1? Shelby Cobra. but who drives one of those daily? (courtesy musclecar stats).

  • a superlatemodel all aluminum smallblock usually makes around 800 hp--780 to 830 or better--a really powerfull one make over 900 and can turn 8 to 9 thousand rpm.s all nite

  • Show me one. What platform are you talking about, what cubes, power-adder? I am not a ricer, I drive ls-series engines and a N/A 427 gen3 platform which is arguably the best engine platform around at the moment will not reach 800bhp easily.

  • equipmentsholesalers is correct, my uncle owns lake cumberland speedway here in burnside and it's common knowledge a basic $30k motor will pump out 800hp easy, and you can run one usually 750-1000 laps before a refresh is needed.

  • Not bad for a stocker with a blower bolted to it, that would make an awesome street engine. need to stop that slip though

  • american engineering there u got it blows away so crap

  • Stupid Idiot! Blown As In SUPERCHARGER! Not As The Motor

    Blows! Retart!

  • It's "retard", retard. lmao.

  • your an idiot

  • I can tell your a real smart one.were you born that smart or did you choose to be?

  • Just ignore them, they're all magazine racers who wish they even had a car. Switch to 8mm and you'll lose the slip and the annoying whine. Some up to date carbs might be in your future. Either way it's still a BBC and no saki powered wanna be.

  • the belt was slipping morons!!! it only made 700 horse walking on the belt half the time!!! probably lost 300 horsepower because of it!

  • The belt won't slip if it's cogged, like it is actually supposed to be. Who the hell doesn't run a cogged pulley. Oh, right. Also, big deal. A tuned wedgehead 500cuin Mopar no boost no bottle makes 947hp at 7300rpm.

  • ... lol ok

  • 'lol ok' @ what? "Dyno Pull: 500 BB Mopar" under 'naturally aspirated' at nelsonracingengines dot com. lol..? He chose an RB block for the engine master's challenge, for its deep skirt(no need for 4- or cross-bolting the main caps) and it's rocker shaft assembly(unique to large displacement mopars) and, apparently, found a new passion. And, nothing else sounds like a BB Mopar. If you have speakers, crank the knob.

  • lol at you can get big horsepower out of anything if you spend enuf money on it.. and theres no dought that mopars got there own sweet tone..*although i prefer a 340 at 6500rpm

  • is this the 60's?.....lol

  • lmao ive seen better supras

  • it's just a little 6-71, let them try a 14-71. My friend built three 540 Chevy's with 8-71 blowers, each making about 1500 hp.

  • Yeah I know - over seven and a half litres of engine, forced induction, and they still can't make over 100 hp/litre. And 710 ft/lbs of torque is pretty lame for a blown big block...

  • I'm assuming this is a streetable BB. If so, ignore the HP rating and check out the torque figure!. I'd Like to know what RPM it's pulling at HP & torque figures?. Is this engine running twin Predators for induction?.

  • I dont know how to drive because i own a Civic? I guess when i take my car to Neslson Ledges,Beaver Run and,Putnam race tracks that means i dont know how to drive. How many track day have you attended? Congradulation on jumping on the band wagon and buying a 240. Every idiot that thinks he is a drifter or is in JGTC buys those. Plus any one who knows any thing about track racing know that all you need is good tires and brakes. So i guess you are talking out your ass. No one cares about your KA.

  • FWD is for teenage hairdressers and grandmothers who drive their cars to the bowling greens on Sundays. I bought my 200SX (NOT a 240, I'm an Aussie) three years ago, just after you turned thirteen. As for 'no-one cares about your KA', I don't have one, it's a K20A, and it's one of the most highly regarded NA 4 cylinder engines EVER MADE, and absolutely shits all over a B16. if you have to drive a Civic (you wuss), at least transplant in a B18C, and turbo the hell out of it.

  • ya good advise so the 8:8 and 84mm wiseco pistons and the eagle h beams and T4/T3 turbo and srp hardware ...ect are not up to par i guess. If you want to know specifics i can keep going. ya i might be in my 20's but i will out drive you any way shape or form, and if you wanna compare nissans i just happen to have a '73 240z. Im pretty sure that is one of the most popular SCCA cars. So get back to me i wanna hear your mouth run some more.

  • '73 240Z? You idiot, that car is older than me by 10 years... why buy a shitbox shopping trolley and then spend thousands on it, only to turn it into an expensive shitbox shopping trolley... Out-drive me... HAH!!! I am the proud owner of an FIA ratified, CAMS C3 licence. it took me two years and over $7000 Aussie dollars, but I am legally allowed to drive top-level racecars in Australia, like Moller M800's, and V8 supercars...

  • If I want, I can fly to america, apply for a permit and pass a written test, pass an acclimatisation test-driving session, and drive Nextel cup. Or Champ-car. What about you?

  • Ok let me get this straight you have all of these driving awesome license...but you own a 240 lol...plus if you have all of this that you claim...WTF are you doing on you tube...and almost all of those cars that you mentiond is not american witch brings me to my original point. Dont lie on you tube talk is cheap.

  • the only person lying here is you. second, obviously you don't know shit about cars, because a 240SX is NOT an S14 200SX. what do you mean "what am I doing on youtube?" just because I have a racing license, that doesn't exclude me from the internet...

  • I love how you looked up in the yellow pages the three closest race circuits to you, and still spelled one wrong... I live in Western Australia, see if you can find my home racetrack, and this time spell it right... next time you 'attend' a track day, actually cut some laps, don't just spectate...

  • why would i care what is in australia? Sorry i didnt spell check. I guess that since i spelled it wrong i didnt go there. I really have no more intrest with you sooo....bla bla bla who care who cares

  • What's that? You lose? Did I expose you for the pimple-faced teenager you are? I bet you can't even drive a manual... As you said, "don't lie on youtube"...

  • Fine come to Ohio and see for your self crocodile mile. Like i said talk is cheap!

  • And yours is so cheap, it's free! Like I'm gonna fly to Ohio just to meet some idiot off the 'net... BTW, what the hell is a "crocodile mile"? If it's an accurate description of me, then it must mean "absolute fucken LEGEND - also, humble." Ha ha ha ha ha ha! note to americans - please try to notice the sarcasm in the last sentance, and this one also.

  • If you understand BASIC PHYSICS at all, you will realise that FWD is the worst drivetrain layout for handling, grip, and braking. But it is excellent for packaging, which is why most gutless little shitboxes, like Hyundai Accents, and Honda Civics, use it. Don't see many FWD Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Maseratis, TVRs, Lotus', Corvettes, Honda NSXs, and such like do you now???

  • Wow you are digging a hole. Apples to oranges "ricers" "Tunners" "Ass Dragers" "Imports" have a higer power to weight ratio. Just because there is one bad ass american engine dosent make up for the rest of the garbage comming out of Detriot. Way to try and slide in a five dollar word did you stay up all night trying to come up with that. It still dosent make up for the fact that you are a redneck.

  • Dumbass, read further down the comments. I drive a Nissan S14 200SX turbo manual in metallic green, and it will annihilate your Civic. I AM what rednecks refer to as a 'ricer', even though the outside and interior of my vehicle are dead stock (not even one sticker of any kind), and always will be, possibly except for a chrome-moly rollcage, carbon buckets, five-point harnesses and an alcantara wheel, if I ever come into enough cash to turn it into a dedicated track car...

  • No, then I dont consider you a ricer, you've based your car on performance, most so called "ricers" only seem to be worried w/ looks

  • the cooment about the twin cam engine is for you, the comment that starts "Dumbass" is for wickedb16. He's an idiot. If you love Honda engines so much, get an S2000. FWD is for people who don't know how to drive.

  • Hey that's not true. I love to drive AWD and have a great time in my buddies Mustang, but I prefer big numbers from small numbers and the feel of FWD. And sir, I know how to drive. It's preference.

  • You talkin to me?

  • He needs mad dog pulleys, probably a bigger one on the bottom and a pull based on lower rpms

  • 700 horsepower out of 8.1 litres of forced induction engine? I gotta say, that's pathetic. Here in W.A. there's a workshop called Active Automotive who are getting famous around the world for extracting figures like 1450 horsepower AT THE WHEELS, from a turbo'd 5 litre v8 in an Aussie car. 700 hp is nothing to be proud of. there are lots of Jap and Euro 4 cylinder making well over 800-900 hp.

  • But they're not STOCK are they.

  • Oh, and the engine in the video is stock, is it? Try to know what you're talking about before you go posting examples of your cranial inadequacies on any website.

  • Did I say this engine was stock?

    I'm pretty sure I didn't...

And I can use large words too, I'm not stupid like a lot of other people seem to be on this site.

But as long as we're talkin about super-tuned engines, The HEMI V-8's topfuel dragsters use get Insane numbers out of those engines. An American company has taken a C5R V-8 and tuned it and threw on twin turbo and got 1,183hp and, wait somethings missing... TORQUE, 1,094LBS/FT OF torque the car is capable of 270+ mph...

  • watch a video called True Power I Supercharged DOHC motor on the dyno. that donk puts this one in the shade...

  • Ya mathematics is what you have no concept of. Honda stock B16A is 1.6 liter 160Hp. This outdated thing 8.1 liter 700Hp. Honda 100Hp per liter V8 86Hp nice try and it has a blower the size of Wisconsin. Also please come up with something original other than "ricer" it sounds so redneck.

  • SEVEN HUNDRED TEN POUNDS LBS/FT OF TORQUE!

Something you ricers hace no concept of.

  • Would I be right in saying this is a 3 litre if I am I have one thing for you skyline rb26, .4 of a litre smaller than this, will do over 1000 hp 700 isn't all that much to brag about. Don't believe me? put this after youtube in you address bar /watch?v=US24vU6PQj4

  • NO, YOUR DUMB ASS WOULD BE WRONG! THIS ENGINE IS 468cid, THATS AROUND 8.1 LITERS! AND THIS ENGINE CAN HANDLE UP TO 1200hp. IF HE THREW THIS THING IN A '68 CAMARO, IT WOULD KICK ANY SKYLINES ASS IF THE SKYLINE HAD THE SAME MODS... MUSCLE KILLS!

  • You just helped to prove my point its an 8.1 litre, if you do the maths that's 5 litres more than a rb30, if you gave the japs 8.1 litres to play with there would be so many rampaging Japanese stallions under the bonet the world would move backward when your foot sinks into the carpet

  • But they dont have one do they, 'cause displacement means nothing to them...

  • Just so you know, I'm saving to put a 3 litre Supra engine in my 200sx, because the 2 litre 4 cylinder is a little low on torque here in hilly Western Australia.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Honda fanboy, I just used that as an example of a superior power-to-weight ratio. I prefer RWD/4WD turbo cars, or exotics. Obviously, as a diesel mechanic, I know a bit about low-down torque, as you laypersons call it, and I also can't afford the Lambo I want. So I'll stick to my turbo RWD Nissan 200sx.

  • This goes out to all of the redneck and for sure the last two people who commented. V8's are 50 years in the past. Who cares...apparently you want an import as much as you talk about them.

  • Fuck your small shit, American V-8's kill all day long...

  • jackandcoffee1145, you sound like a frustrated teenage boy who hasn't even got his licence yet, never mind a car!

  • Teen was right but I have a license, a car and access to several cars...

  • hey dude, that engine sounds like it have no oil in it.

  • Of course the engine has oil in it... the high-pitched whine is coming from the blower, looks like an 8-71 blower, am I right?

  • I'm a ford guy, but I still jacked off to this video.

  • Betcha can't do it, not without totally re-engineering thecar, anyway. with a high perf jap car like my s14 200sx turbo, there are myriad bolt on kits where you just pick what performance level you want, hand over the cash, unbolt the stock stuff, fit the new stuff yourself (really quite easily, EFI is nothing to be afraid of guys), then spend a day or two on the dyno and at the track tuning. Voila!

  • never said v8's can't run turbos, there's a guy in my group of cruisers that has a lexus soarer twin turbo i'ts immaculate and puts out 620 hp at the wheels. it's got minitubs and 10.5 inch wide MT drag radials and still spins the tyres at any speed in any of the autos first three gears. Problem with a camaro is its a badly built car that doesn't handle or stop. granted it's easy to get ten second strip times out of a 'ro , but then try getting a lap of Seca in under 1 min 52 seconds.

  • Im a fan of all engine types. Jap and Yank, though I don't have time for cars with a one inch exhaust with a large coffee tin for an exhaust tip. Have a look at some of the F1 engine testing on youtube, they are insane. Im pretty sure that some of the comments here are made by teenagers or early 20s types who have never seen a top fueller/funnycar run 5-6 second passes. They are too busy changing the air cleaner on Mum's 4 pot people mover to gain some top end lol

  • i agree what you saying except for living Jap cars i hate them. and i know what your saying when you talk about the top fuel cars, 7500-8000 bhp!!!

  • only 700 horses?

  • stock it probably had only 425hp, but still it's not that hard to aquire more from a 454 without that blower, and "only" is a bit of un understatement cause it's more than anyone's gonna need

  • I'm a mechanic by trade, I know what I'm talking about. Big cube v8s have their place, in hotrods, cutoms and the like... (gotta love that engine note!) but you line-up a STANDARD 2002 Nissan Skyline GTR against a STANDARD 2002 model Corvette, and watch the "Jap crap" outclass it in every category of comparison... build quality, acceleration, deceleration, lateral grip, fuel economy, servicing and insurance costs... the list goes on. The GTR is a much better car to drive too.

  • yah well, you know what....no force on earth could make me like jap shit. im 80% muscle, and 20% exotic. i pretty sure the porsche is an even better car to drive...seeing as its a racecar. and believe it or not, but the porsche gets a better fuel economy than a jap car.

  • And you can afford the Porsche? 80% muscle, 20% exotic... I like that... not even 1% intelligence...

BTW, a Porsche is a road car not a race car, race cars don't have functioning indicators, electric mirrors, back seats... the list goes on.

  • I have a porsche.... and it IS a RACECAR. porsche started its history by racing cars. Yes the porsche has "Comfort stuff", but its still a racecar.

  • What model Porsche? Send in a video of it cutting a lap time on slick tyres, like a racecar. As far as drag racing goes, it IS hard to beat an 8 or 9 litre supercharged nitro burning top fueller with a "ricer" car, so the smart guys don't try. They buy a military surplus jet engine.

  • Carrera 4S, lowered about an inch, slicks, standard trany, racing exhasut so people can hear you from far away.... the soud is like an orgasm in your ears, soooo niiccee

  • if you can afford the Porsche, you can afford a video phone. post a video showing your porsche, with your net tag in the video somewhere, and I will be jealous FOR LIFE!

  • I would give everything I ever have had, everything I have now, and everything I ever will have, plus all surplus internal organs and bone marrow for a Lambo Murcielago LP 640. With the clear engine cover, carbon brakes, painted in that sweet dark gunmetal grey colour. I'm serious! Who wants to buy a kidney? Or a lung? I can survive with one lung, right?

  • LOL, ill suport you 100%.... say how much for the lung? lets see:

    I take 1 lung, 1 kidney, 2 bones and a large coke!!!

  • corvettes suck, i love corvettes, but only the really old ones and the

  • what about the Z05, or the NEW Z07 comming out 2009 i think

  • Yea, just in time to keep right on kickin Vipers

ass... I think the ZO7 comes out in '08 (Aug '07)

...but i could be wrong, its happened before... lol

  • I like how you completely ignored my part about how there is no factory turbocharged Skyline anymore, and not many people actually own one. FACT: I raced a Honda Accord V6 today. I won. Stock 1996 Dodge Ram Van vs. "Tuned" 1997 Honda Accord V6. The 7,500 pound van won. How? American V8, bitch. No replacement for displacement.

  • HELL FUCKIN YEA!

    I raced a 2005 Altima 0-70mph... my 1998 Tahoe with a

350ci V-8 WON. go to the vid "ricers suck" and read the intro, its funny

  • hell, I have a 96 1/2 ton longbed 4x4 with a 4.3 V-6 in it. I ran head-to-head with a sentra seR spec v. I'm not sure if my 4.3 puts out 190 or 200 horse, but the spec v is rated at 172 horse. That's low end torque for ya

  • HAHAHAHA! This is awesome! You BIG "CI" guys get wound up so easy, well I dont blame you, so many litres yet so little power LOL! Sissy motorsports? HAHAHA! Im sure a world rally car driver would have alot of trouble going around in circles like Nascar, wow those Nascar guys really have some talent, i mean to hold that car left all day long... you must be proud! And just quickly remind me how many litres a new F1 engine is??? Oh did you say 2.4, yes POWER PER LITRE!

  • Oh and: the Nissan Skyline comes with either a 2.5 L VQ25HR V6 or a 3.5 L VQ35HR V6, and as of 2001: NO NISSAN SKYLINE HAD A FACTORY TURBOCHARGED OPTION.

  • I'd like to throw some TRUTH in here:

B00sted claims: Everyone and their grandmother owns a Skyline except YOU, and they all push 1000 horsepower. In reality, most people would rather spend their money on a nice luxury car, and the Nissan VQ35HR only outputs 311 horsepower, and 268 ft-lbf torque. Hell, my old '96 Ram Van puts out 230HP/300ft-lbf. AND, my Ram Van has the nice rumble of an American V8 (assembled in Canada)

  • whats the reason you drive a van again? must have missed that.

  • Simple, no other vehicle available to me.

  • If your Japenese 4 bangers are all that good than why don't they use them in NASCAR, NHRA, 24hr Leman, F1 Racing, and Indy 500? Cause they suck! Just leave them to the sissy motorsports like rally car racing and drifting where they do best

  • nascar? dumbass.

how is rallying a sissy motorsport? i just don't see how your "mudding" and "nascar" can compare to barrelling through a forest or up a mountain powersliding corners at 95 mph.

    just doesn't make sense.

  • I'm trying to point out that their Japeneese tuners aren't good enough to use in the motorsports I mentioned, and rally racing is sissy compared to Bajha 1000, maybe no mud or anything but it's a 1000 mile endurance race through a desert with more obstacles than you can count

  • You tuners: 500 cubic inch Mopar RB block (cast around 1970) naturally aspirated, no nitrous and PUSHRODS(omgwtf) = 950HP at 7300rpm. Add 20 lbs of boost and see 2000+ hp. But for ignition, no electronics. Is there ANY asian factory production design that compares? thought so.

  • take that shitty four banger to the gator nationals, try to breathe when that motherfucker leaves the line, the honda shit dosent compare to torque get over it

  • Too much crap being spoken here - love to see some of you jap boys "get the bread and milk in the morning" with a t88 hanging off the side of your supra...horses for courses.. this thing is tough and if you can't appreciate it, then do us all a favour and don't associate yourselves with the term "car enthusiast".
