  • I LOVE you guys. This looks fantastic and am def going to make it.

  • I haven't had this in years and years. My dear mother was Gujarati and she use to make this for me . You've brought me back so many happy memories, I can just taste it. I'm going to attempt this recipe and hope it turns out like mum used to make. Thank you so much

ps what is the make of your grinder? mine is very small and I can't find a nice one like yours.. tnx

  • @madeitwithlove : The one we have used here is a Premier brand, it is available online :)

  • thank you:-)

  • I like ahnuja she is hot

  • I left India when I was 6. This is so exciting. I need to prepare myself psychologically to make this...starting with the list of ingredients...I am not indian yet part of me is. Preparing this dish is going to be my entrance door to my childhood and to all the tenderness I was given unconditionally.

It is just amazing how we humans transmit generosity and warmth through simple actions we may not be aware of.

Thanks a million for your videos!

  • Wow, that's fantastic looking!

  • Aaah, it looks delicious (as all of your dishes do) but - what a lot of work!

    But I guess it's worth it. ;o)

    Thanks!

  • @MollySato : Soooo worth it :) That is why we suggest you make a BIG batch and either share or enjoy it over a few days :)

  • Can u make a video showing how to make gulab gabun

  • @Galaxystriker : We have a recipe for Gulab Jamuns. Please search for it on our website or on our YouTube Channel.

  • Hetal is really something.......

  • Thanks heetal and anuja...

  • is this a indian recipe? i think i will try it, looks yummy

  • @Taayri : Yes, very much Indian. It is a very famous Gujarati dish from the State of Gujarat in India.

  • Good work!

  • This looks amazing. Thanks for making it so clear. Any suggestions for substitutions for papdi? And may I make a suggestion? It looks like you need to get your knives sharpened.

  • @lupa402 : If you can't find the fresh Papdi, you can use either the frozen papdi beans (minus the pods) or if that also fails, skip it :(

  • Thank you for sharing my favorite Gujarati recipe.

  • Ik heb een puf gelaten.

  • would make a change from wings and nachos for the superbowl

  • OMG, this looks AWESOME!! I have never heard of this. WOW!!

  • Where did you buy the sari?

  • Anuja's voice sounds clearer than hitler

  • This looks very nice would love to make it some day but the herbs and spices are maybe hard to get.

Also a perfect dish when you don t like meat

  • @GoliathAngelus the ginger, cilantro, chili, garlic should be available at any major grocery store in the US. As for the spices, if you're just starting to cook Indian food and can't find them locally - try online. Most of the spices will turn up again and again in other popular Indian recipes. There are a ton of places you can get them from. Personally, I went to an Indian grocer (I live in the midwest) and found everything that I need.

  • @rachiti Many thank for the reply !!

I don t live in the U.S but its a good idea to buy the ingredients at an Indian grocer .

We have such place where i live but what is cilantro??

  • @GoliathAngelus cilantro AKA fresh coriander

  • that is complicated

  • Incredible!

  • Wow, putting a bit of spice, into my life.

  • I've never seen eggplant that small before. The ones we get up here (Canada) are massive.

  • @BeeRich33 : Yes, these are Indian eggplants :)

  • quick question :) if i didn't want to microwave it, can i cook it on the stove? is there an alternative way? :) or maybe in the oven??

  • @mouthsweet : You can cook them on the stove, just be gentle so they don't break apart and cook on low heat so they cook all the way thru.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry i heard this dish is very bitter?

  • @Akshayphadke : No, not at all, this dish has so many levels of flavor - just amazing :)

  • where did you buy the frying pan

  • Anuja looks like my favourite Chemistry teacher

  • Wow...Thank you for doing this. Love it u guys. Wanted to make this for so long. I am going to make it today. Thanks.God bless.

  • what exactly is papdi?

  • @kolgibson89 : It is a vegetable (looks similar to peas, just flatter). They are available in Indian stores, either fresh or frozen.

  • Very interesting I have never seen Indian Eggplant ours are large type in the USA they are at least 6 inches long.

  • Woa that's alot of ingredients

  • Is this the same as Gutti Venkaya?

  • Hi Hetal and Anuja! Can I skip the garlic and make the chutney?I'm also thinking of baking&broiling the sweet potatoes in oven instead of the deep fry?

  • @priyamvadha123 : If you skip the garlic, it will change the flavor of the dish. Baking the sweet potatoes will work and will definitely be healthier :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Thanks for your reply! :) Will try this out soon!

  • looks great

  • waaow looks great, i wish you could send it to me so that i dont have to cook for tonight :)

  • @mcksy I know that feeling! xoxo
