  • The Dead Milkmen were a really important band for me...

  • The best part? The audio clip used for the Dead Milkmen "today" predates the clip used for the Dead Milkmen "twenty five years ago" by two years. Funny stuff.

  • I know one member is dead.

I'm only 29 and i love these guys. They really hit me when i was 17/ 18, and were introduced by my older brother.

This is a great idea. As far as I know, A proper doc. on DMM has not been done. I'd love to see it!

    cheers & good luck!

  • i'd reconsider that. the Dead Milkmen haven't stayed together. they disbanded for a good while following several major label debacles. the one who got his doctorate is also the one who died. Dave Blood took his own life after battling depression. guitarist/singer Joe Jack Talcum has continued to tour solo and with several side projects all these years, and the band just released a new album that is a journey away from Big Lizard.

  • nice. faved.

i grew up during the grunge movement in the early 90s and i am very thankful for that. the music that came from that era has left its mark on this man in a big way. and as much as i hate to say it, the grunge movement of the early 90s may very well prove to be the last musical revolution.

i don't listen to anything new at all and i'm fine with that. at this stage in my life, i spend more time writing, recording, producing and listening to my own music than i do anything else.

  • I was a HUGE Dead Milkmen fan back in the day. This cracked me up....especially the line "Big lizard in my Backyard...you know..really powerful stuff." This is funny and I would say don't take it so seriously people. Laugh..like the Dead Milkmen always wanted us to do.

  • a spit sink, a spit sink, you're nothing but a spitsink!

  • *punk rock girl* i wish i could see them play!

  • Should have done a little more research before making this. But it was pretty good. The Dead Milkmen aren't really "documentary worthy", mostly because they're just normal guys with normal lives. It wasn't until recently that they actually got back together.

  • one of them is dead... NONE OF THEM ARE WORKING AT A GAS STATION! They are all college graduates and have decent jobs....

  • iggy pop is still around and sounding better than ever

  • There's a CRACK in the "e". AGAIN!

  • @Dassiswas a.k.a "the network on crack"

  • Haha! Luv your acting and expressions Sir Drew! Most enjoyed! Cheers! P.S.When I was very young, I quite liked Gary Glitter. The drums and the sound, and dudes going 'Oi' a lot. I thought it a real cool thing. These days, I tend to keep that to myself...lol.

  • man, well, you'd think at least one of them would've died or ended up in the slammer.

  • bitchin' camero is a bitchin' song. never really knew who was responsible for it until now.

i see a bitchin' documentary in your near future

  • Maybe you could make a documentary on why they are still doing the same thing after all these years. Sort of a trapped in the past thing.

  • I think the Milkmen sound better today. Dead Milkmen = Heroes.

    (throws obligatory rock salute)

  • I'd completely forgotten about the Dead Milkmen and Kennedys. So, if they are still doing what they were doing in the mid 80s, maybe your story is what are their fans doing now and who are their current fans? A Weekend with the Dead Milkmen.

On second thought, keep working on the WildBill documentary. Much more interesting and certainly a lot more material to work with there.

  • Many of the artists that were my favorites when I was young ARE still performing, even making albums. Some are just a good as when they were young....Some haven't changed.. Money is always the issue...

I never knew of this group. I knew of the Dead Kennedys... I will help you think of ideas. My goodness you live in the perfect place for such projects....historical places everywhere.

  • @LisaJMoore The reality of getting "historical places" to cooperate with a documentary film production is a nightmare. Most demand editorial control along with fees. I've got more ridiculous stories than you can imagine.

  • drews looking for dady by the title

  • @markeymonk I have no idea what you're attempting to convey. The "In Search of" title is a play on the Michael Wood BBC documentaries.

  • @drewnetwork ,,i'm messin with ya....milk men fathered plenty of kids....good vlog anyhow...good luck to em,but its good to find ,like partridge family dude on h4w's

  • @markeymonk Yeah, that "Partridge Family" thing was outrageous. The little red head kid -- now on Social Security and Medicare.

  • @drewnetwork ,hi i didnt look at mail until now,i am sure that he worked at a radio station and him an hotforwords had a contest on who is the bigger seleb for fun..wow 3 weeks ago you replied.thanks for the reply i am a huge fan mate.

  • oh nooooos! how sad for them. I figured they'd all be dead. you know sitting on the toilet, needle in the arm.

Maybe do a complilation documentary of stupid criminals. why they do what they do, badly.

  • @creegirl9 I don't know what I expected -- but a show at a bar in Boston wasn't it.

  • I had a similar experience with the comedian Gallager. He is still around and smashing watermellons.

take the retards to the zoo was my favorite Dead Milkmen song.

  • @nintendolunchbox I listened to that song this morning while researching them.

I think I know who you're talking about. The bald guy with long hair on the sides and a mustache. He broke stuff with a something like a giant gavel.

Perhaps we could combine these two things for a new DREWnetwork song -- "Smashing Retards At The Zoo."
