This was an old Ambulance Siren that the guys at City Garage (Fleet Services) had laying around in their shop. It was installed in a day. Its an older sounding siren. Winds down pretty quick. No need for a sire brake
This is what I find puzzling.. This Super Chief siren shouldn't wind down that quick as it is a "coaster" siren that normally would requires a siren brake. Maybe the bearings are bad?
I totally forgot B&M sirens like this one are opposite to other electro-mechanical sirens. As the siren brake is always ON until you need to use the siren. Then you power the brake solenoid to release the siren brake. Then this unit should coast just like the Federal Amp Hog competition.
This may be worth looking into to get this unit working as it should!
