Went to the church and crypt where these brave men died -St Cyrils in Prague -laid a wreath among many other ones there-the Czech ppl still remember their heroic act-Nazis murdered hundreds of ppl linked with the assassination.

It's a good film and a great score, even though the story apparently didn't end this way. Wikipedia reports that one of the men survived and died in the hospital. There is no report that they shot each other like this, but rather, died fighting.

@Zodiak411Sequensův film je určitě "přesnější". Ale třeba ta věc se zrcátkem je stále spíše domněnka a není to stoprocentně potvrzeno. Všichni vlastní rukou nezemřeli, Kubiše zabil granát, nicméně je pravda, že v tom českém filmu nebyli Gabčík s Kubišem společně v kryptě, což je nesmysl. Ale i v Atentátu je řada nesmyslů, jako třeba dohady o tom, kdy pro parašutisty přiletí letadlo. Detailem třeba je, že vefilmu letí jen skupiny Anthropoid a SilverA, ve skutečnosti tam byla ještě skupina SilverB

@Zodiak411 :) zkrátka se shodneme, že Operace Daybreak je inspirována "hodně volně" a že českej Atentát je mnohem historicky přesnější, ale i tak je třeba ho brát s velkou rezervou... Nicméně je to velký téma a kdyby to zas někdo pořádně zpracoval, nemusel by z toho vzniknout špatnej biják...

I agree with kanenmighty. A horrible movie, not based on the really true story. If you can speak some Czech, try "Operace Silver A". That is at least beautiful and a lot more truthful!

TV miniseries "Silver A" from Strach is discreditable movie and was heavily critised by czech World War II veterans. Best movie about operation Anthropoid is czech film "Atentat (1964)". In english "Assasination (1964).

@RINGOCZ Ringo, I am not joking. I hope that I am allowed to have my opinion, though it is different form yours... I agree that "Atentát" is an excellent movie, but "Silver A" is not a documentary. It is a fiction working with facts. I read critics - interesting, but the point is, the movie "Silver A" tried to show heroes as plain humans with all their flaws, not just people in the sense of "I am perfect, since I am a hero". But, try to find some more information about other paragroups. About heroes from Wolfram. About Jozef Černota, Robert Matula and others. They were true soldiers and they fought hard for their country. And if you saw documentary "Stínoví vojáci" (Shadow soldiers) or "Možnosti hrdinů" (Options of heroes), maybe you'd know what I mean.

Yes, maybe there were some soldiers who acted as men in Strach´s movie. But most of paratroopers were big patriots who knew their military goals. We cant imagine what they had experienced. If you liked this, you should know how it really was... Every scene of this movie that I´ve seen yet, is really inaccurate... I´m from Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia) and I know quite a lot about The Assassination... And I can tell you this: The true story is more interesting than any scene of this movie and if you wanna know something about it, i can recommend you czech movie The Assassination.... It´s also inaccurate, but better than this...

This is my all time favourite movie, and the music by David Hentschel is matched to perfection. I, and i'm sure so many others wish we could get the soundtrack to this movie.

Although this movie is quite a deviation from the truth (read ''Seven Men At Daybreak'') it is still a powerful production, and having personally seen the church and crypt in Prague, it only confirms the hardship these men had to endure in the name of freedom.

@3friend Agreed - a great lost film, unhappily only currently available on a Korean DVD with ropey picture quality & minus subtitles...but better than nowt. I got my copy from eBay, try there. This flick cries out for a properly remastered release; likewise the soundtrack...my VHS copy taped off the telly circa 1991 (WITH subtitles) is just about fucked.

The composer of the music was by David Hentschel and not Tangerine Dream and the keyboard score is very similar :). David was kind enough to send me an email a few years ago and unfortunately the score will never be re-released.
