@Banshie7 There isnt much advantage to a 6 speed. The only real advantage is that you can rev it up higher, which means that you can stay in the lower gears for a longer amount of time for more power. An auto will be fast and everything but you just dont have as much control of the car (not handling, just shifting lol) plus most like the experience of driving a stick in a sporty car. You can still make your car sick

@yellowpurple13, both cars are fast but if u but if u want more fun out of ur engine then go for the 1.8t. once u experience the boost of the turbo then u'll like it. vr6 has plenty of power but without the boost theres not much fun there.

Sweet gli man. Looks a lot like mine and sounds great. I have BMP and 2.5 TBE. I push 18.5 psi on my stock K03s. Pretty nice. What turbo and how much psi is he pushing>? Do u know what engine code you're throwing? Is it the 420 catalytic converter code? That's what mine sometimes throws when it gets really cold. oink/oink ;-)

@kLingis09 well i have gotten my shit straight (from day one too!), its called buying chevy. regardless of what *this* particular car has experienced, most veedubs are prone to the constant CEL being on not to mention the small lil flaws they experience even when you DO care for them :D the 1.8 block is not only a disappointment to the whole german nation, but to the automotive world as well. throw a german accent on that bad boy and lets make a commercial and see how many fanboys i get!

how many miles? i bought my 2005 Jetta GLi 1.8t last May. It was completly stock with 43K miles. He was asking 14,500$ i got him down to 13K. I now have 3" GHL DP,3" Eurojet CB, CAI,TIP, hyperboost DV, N75 "race" valve,4bar FPR,APR stock,91,93,104, Neuspeed 2" lowering springs and poly tranny mounts boost guage and more. im lookin for a ko4 for it. i would say as longs as thecarfax comes back good, go for it. Try 13,500 n go from there. Thats alot of money invested in that ride....

how many miles?i would say go for it. if you could ge em down to 22. im not a huge fan of the MK5's yet but thats a nice car. everything is done on that. Like i said to the other guy, carfax it and see what its history has been. i would love to have those mods on my MK4 GLi. also i dont know where you live, but i know when APR installs their stage 3 kit they like to use the stock airbox. see what you can do to lower him down but i think its a decent deal.
