Japan (Tokyo) doesn't need to be evacuated except for a few miles out of the nuclear plants. Case in point, 2 nuclear bombs were exploded as you know in two cities in Japan in the 40s. It killed millions of people (many more due to sickness) within that 20 mile radius (not in tokyo or anywhere else).

On the West Coast we are in the same boat. There is word that radiation made it to Alaska this morning, according to news in low levels. by rough speculation it has made it to the West Coast ate 2:30 pm. It went from 22 to 232 whatever those levels mean. As soon as it appeared it disappeared off the radiation networks monitor. I am not claiming anything only that I know for a fact that news is being suppressed ever since CIA were sent to Japan.
My wife's mother has Alzhiemers and my wife is the only one in her family to speak English. I doubt she would or could leave them behind. And I would never ask her to.

Japan (Tokyo) doesn't need to be evacuated except for a few miles out of the nuclear plants. Case in point, 2 nuclear bombs were exploded as you know in two cities in Japan in the 40s. It killed millions of people (many more due to sickness) within that 20 mile radius (not in tokyo or anywhere else).

The Japanese government can't even lie intelligently. Stay in the house? The air in a house is completely exhanged with outside air in about 30 minutes. If it wasn't you'd use up all the oxygen and smother. You can't stop the outside air plus the airborne particles getting in. You have to get up and go to escape the radiation contamination. Sitting around on your sofa with the doors and windows closed won't save you!

My worry is even if we are not affected by it, just the news can cause havoc and mass exodus out of southern California. Resulting in an unprecedented chaos. On the West Coast we are in the same boat. There is word that radiation made it to Alaska this morning, according to news in low levels. by rough speculation it has made it to the West Coast ate 2:30 pm. It went from 22 to 232 whatever those levels mean. As soon as it appeared it disappeared off the radiation networks monitor. I am not claiming anything only that I know for a fact that news is being suppressed ever since CIA were sent to Japan.

France, by radio (I have no TV) has told all its citizens in Japan to leave, and have already sent the first plane to pick up the first ones who have no money to leave otherwise. The first announcement came several days ago already. My spouse works with planes and said many planes are being sent to rescue French out of there.

One other problem of verification that actually should have ALREADY showed up (but has NOT)- Radiation leakage at those levels, trying to be cooled with SEAWATER from the sea, with not containment going back TO the sea (open core pump and dump), should be IMMEDIATELY killing sea life in mass amounts. For all the "aerial" shots...I am not seeing dead animals on land, or dead fish by the BILLIONS floating around.....along with plant life too. (Instant death, but not decay, at those rad levels).

Let me add that Japan is clearly over their head dealing with this calamity yet they still won't ask for FULL international help. Their pride although respected will get more people killed... Had they asked for help sooner we could have gotten the coolant to then sooner and just maybe avoided this nuclear reactor melt down .

At some point you have to use common sense. Japanese from a young age are socialized to put group interest ahead of individual interest. Which simply means they are worried about how their country will continue not so much about you and your personal needs... They will help you and give you information as needed but country will come first. This man needs to contact his embassy ASAP ask for a loan to get him and his family out of Japan.
