People can hate a game, and people can love a game. Everyone has different tastes and opinions, thats normal. What I can't stand is people hating games for changing (FF, DMC). Innovation is the key to producing good quality games. If you never try something new, the same generic crap will be remade over and over again. *Cough Modern Warfare *Cough Battlefield. Hell I'm still excited for FFXIII Versus, the people behind FF7AC and Kingdom Hearts are making it for goodness sake. I cannot wait! :3

@Sicko28911 Have you forgotten eiko from ff9? she was definately under 13 years of age but no one moaned about her age because she was a valid part of the story or was it because there was no voice overs then. It makes sense in this generation to have some young characters as leads. Incase you havent noticed there getting younger the more ff makes games and i think it is better and more realistic as that age is more impulsive.

People would argue that vivi or quina ff9 were the worst characters and then the fans of those characters would argue also. people wont be happy 100% with the characters. If anything the only games where the characters were brilliant were ff7,8 and 10.
@LashNLine Yeah, FFX was really the last good FF game. Tidus was really annoying at times, but he eventually grew on you, especially towards the end of the game where you find out he's going to die. But Vanille and Hope? They are just annoying THE WHOLE DAMN GAME.

I thought the MMO style of Final Fantasy XII was really good. I know that it was a real complaint about the game to fans but I felt it kept the flow of travelling Ivalice at a better pace rather than 'run, screen crack, battle, repeat'. And the story to XII isn't as bad as everyone makes out. It's just not typical anime-like romantic story some people seem to have adjusted to for the series. I just don't see what the point in having random battle encounter is when we have current gen consoles??
@tomitheoverlord2 FF XII in my opinion was the last GREAT Final Fantasy. People give it crap for the same reasons they gave FF IX crap. The reason FF XII didn't perform so well, was because it was a Sony exclusive. Also, kiddies that were fresh to FF were now showing up at this time thanks to KH. When they played FF XII they were confused because their brains didn't understand the "big words" being said. The game was too large and hard for them...why do you think FF XIII was so easy and kiddy?

See, I'm losing faith in Square. I always loved Squaresoft, never liked Square-Enix. Everything up to FFX was great. All downhill from then on, well FFXII... ok I'll give em that one. @niceguy999918 If you must know the truth, an no sarcasm behind this comment, FF XIII is like watching really...REALLY bad anime. The only difference is that you run down straight and linear "hallways" and then watch a 5-10 minute cutscene nearly each time. Oh, and then you fight. Add that to 25 + hours until you actually get some control and that is FF XIII. If you want to get into the series, go back further. Try FF IV or VI. VII is considered the best, but try the older ones for appreciation.
@banglefaar let me guess, your a western gamer. ok look I can respect your opinion but do you realize japenese fans like this type of game. we like to have complex stories and linear gameplay. mostly because sidequest's are boring and Non-linearity can really hurt the game's story. also you make cutsences sound like a bad thing but we love them. I would much prefer to watch a cutsence than getting lost in a world.

@KingdomHeartsFan20 A lot would argue with you and say many of the other characters in the earlier games were worse than her. She did hold a resemblence to previous characters though. People would argue that vivi or quina ff9 were the worst characters and then the fans of those characters would argue also. people wont be happy 100% with the characters. If anything the only games where the characters were brilliant were ff7,8 and 10.

@LashNLine Yeah, FFX was really the last good FF game. Tidus was really annoying at times, but he eventually grew on you, especially towards the end of the game where you find out he's going to die. But Vanille and Hope? They are just annoying THE WHOLE DAMN GAME.

I thought the MMO style of Final Fantasy XII was really good. I know that it was a real complaint about the game to fans but I felt it kept the flow of travelling Ivalice at a better pace rather than 'run, screen crack, battle, repeat'. And the story to XII isn't as bad as everyone makes out. It's just not typical anime-like romantic story some people seem to have adjusted to for the series. I just don't see what the point in having random battle encounter is when we have current gen consoles??

@tomitheoverlord2 FF XII in my opinion was the last GREAT Final Fantasy. People give it crap for the same reasons they gave FF IX crap. The reason FF XII didn't perform so well, was because it was a Sony exclusive. Also, kiddies that were fresh to FF were now showing up at this time thanks to KH. When they played FF XII they were confused because their brains didn't understand the "big words" being said. The game was too large and hard for them...why do you think FF XIII was so easy and kiddy?

See, I'm losing faith in Square. I always loved Squaresoft, never liked Square-Enix. Everything up to FFX was great. All downhill from then on, well FFXII... ok I'll give em that one. Didn't like the story much but game play wise it's the best in the series. It's what XIII should have been instead of the simplified movie game version. And now it has a squeal. Joy.

@niceguy999918 If you must know the truth, an no sarcasm behind this comment, FF XIII is like watching really...REALLY bad anime. The only difference is that you run down straight and linear "hallways" and then watch a 5-10 minute cutscene nearly each time. Oh, and then you fight. Add that to 25 + hours until you actually get some control and that is FF XIII. If you want to get into the series, go back further. Try FF IV or VI. VII is considered the best, but try the older ones for appreciation.

@banglefaar let me guess, your a western gamer. ok look I can respect your opinion but do you realize japenese fans like this type of game. we like to have complex stories and linear gameplay. mostly because sidequest's are boring and Non-linearity can really hurt the game's story. also you make cutsences sound like a bad thing but we love them. I would much prefer to watch a cutsence than getting lost in a world.
