  • Thanks to you man. NoW i added the last instrument i was looking for in the last part of a NoN Dubstep Track. .when its mastered, i will send you with pleasure the link ...so you can listen to how you helped me..

    Thanks again and greets.

  • i cant get into the es2, i cant find the button ur pressing..

i cant find plugins but cant find an es2

    im using logc pro 9

  • Thank you!

  • @Reubenchng No worries, glad you enjoyed!

  • 12 semitones, is one octave yer?

    c-c one octave?

  • @trampo1993 This has been discussed sooo many times, it ws a slip of the tongue and not worth re-recording a ten minute video over. 1 octave = 12semi tones or 1200 cents...happy days

  • hi, there is a song called 'meltdown' by 'enter shikari' it seems they have put dub wobble to their guitar and/or their bass, do you know if thats done the same way, or if the theory of it is different?

  • @Jerkishman I will have a look, can't say i appreciate their music but Ill check it out in the name of education

  • @101MTL Thank you!

  • XBOX AHOY???

  • @0riginalVidz Indeed

  • I am so new to this it's ridiculous...so far it's been pretty helpful. I'm at about the 5:00 mark but I still can't seem to find any sound when I mess with the mixer...what could be the issue?

  • @somethingorange How longs a piece of string? Logic Pro (if your brand new) inst really an app you can use without any training as you’ll hit a lot of basic issues but ones that are very hard to explain/resolve via "its not working, what is it". Having said this, create a 'software instrument' and put a standard instrument on it and check you have sound that way you know it is nothing stupid like i/o on the preferences. Second make sure the oscillators are on as if not you will hear nothing.

  • @101MTL Also if your cut off is too low then you will be cutting off all the content and therefore not hearing anything. Check your channel has an output going to stereo out. Apart from that without screen shots ect it is very hard to correct the individual issues.

  • @101MTL cool! thanks so much! i realized this program is tough to use without basic training...so i'm gonna get some help soon haha. thanks again!

  • @somethingorange Sound only comes out of the mixer if your pressing a key btw

  • @DBendo888 Surely thats got to be a given not matter how much exp you have ;)

  • @101MTL hahah you never know!

  • @chiefamonroe Cheers for dropping a comment, the whole 12 semi tone thing has been discussed in previous comments...simple slip of the tongue.

  • Superbly professional and informative tutorial -Thanks!

  • @roblightwater Really appreciated, cheers.

  • thanks!

  • @Doliciouz Cheers for taking the time to say so!

  • I cant tell you exactly how many video i had to run through to learn how to make a wobble, but finally, i know how to do it, thank you very much kind sir!!! Sub-d :D

  • @Vendettria Thats no worries, Im here to help so glad thats what I achieved!

  • Thanks for this! I write mostly acoustic stuff, but it's fun to mess around. This video was the perfect step in a different direction.

  • @shplog2 Yeah always try and embrace as many styles as possible!

  • Hey, awesome video! It definitely helped a ton. Is there anyway chance that you could send me a copy of the theory file you showed us here? (The flow chart type thing) It would be really nice to have just as a reference! Thanks again!

  • @zachtaylore Hey dude IM me so I can sendit on to you!

  • hiya, sorry to be a pain but did you use any VST's for this? thnx great vid btw.

  • @BennyTongues Nope everything you see is in with logic, simply just all in the ES2 no plug ins no other synths etc.

  • NICE ONE MAN! great vid

  • @ThomPearsonProjects Cheers bro

  • In your honest opinion what software do you think is better. fl studio 9 or logic pro 9 please awnser.

  • @DamienRossMusic1 Dude thats not even a question. There is a reason why Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton, Reason are all pro apps and FL studio isnt. Its bedroom stuff, great to learn on for basics and to give it credit it is getting better but man serious! Pro apps are pro because of the depth and versatility. Cheers for popping the question bro.

  • @101MTL thanks man maybe its time to upgrade. cheers

  • @DamienRossMusic1 Dude youll never regret it!

  • can someone help me? Where is that thing off the 123 triangule. I havent that. I have to dowload some thing?

  • @taniatuning It is just left of the filter which is located in the centre of the synth

  • Hey i have a problem, i cant stop the oscillator wobbing, it keeps doing it and its overlapping my other wobs which are in a different track, it still overlaps if i put it in the same track

  • @impIosive Hi, the description of the problem is a bit wishy washy but if your just talking about the speed the Osc is being 'wobbled' at then you need to alter the LFO which is controlling it.

  • Love hearing, "dirty dubstep" in an english accent. Great video, I'm just getting into Logic and this helped a ton.

  • @KyleGCorcoran Hey dude, cheers for the hit, and yes English accent is the best! ;)

  • i feel like im learning from karl pilkington

  • @ljkhdflkjhdflkjd Lol ta I guess!

  • Hi I'm at the part where you just turned off the oscalators and for some reason, I can't hear a preview of what I'm doing. Is there any specific button or command that needs to be pressed?

  • @MrGriiizy If you shut off the oscillators then your turning off the 'sound generator' effectivley meaning there will be no sound to listen to....keep at least one oscillator on at a time and you will get sound. Also if you have oscillator 1 on but your 'triangle' mixer is all the way to oscillator 2 or 3 then you will hear nothing...also check you solos are not on on any channels! Hope this helps!

  • really helpful!! cheers mate

  • thank you <3 not only got me a sweet sound , made me understand how as well (:

  • i recommend Pioneer CDJ-900 or CDJ-2000 using Rekord Box 1.5.0 on Mac it is good for mixing tracks with ur own style added, and for the people who think that people ripped off the skrillex voice thing "YES OMG"!! that is from the Cup stack chick

  • 100th like WOOOOO SUCK IT

  • @tubeinyou23 Nice job ;)

  • Do you consider logic a good music application? Not anywhere near professional right?

  • @kramer824 Hi, I consider Logic PRO to be a PRO application with most of the worlds PRO app users slit down the middle on PRO tools and Logic PRO. The only real difference between the two leading pro apps is that to my knowledge PRO tools is still the only one out of the two to have a 64 Bit mix bus (this is different to 64 OS architecture). Logic is more used by composers for film and tv, ten times more user friendly than tools but tools wins on audio quality. Why do you consider it not to be?

  • @101MTL Well I honestly have no real knowledge about this stuff sorry haha. Do you think you could help me learn the meanings of all the things on these synthesizers so I can actually have an idea of what I have to do to get the sound I'm looking for? Like oscillators, LFOs, Envelopers, etc?

  • @kramer824 logic pro is pro dude.

I choose it over pro tools.

  • do you need any pieces of hardware (keyboard etc.) for logic studio

    thanks!

  • @wizwazzle29 A keyboard is a necessity as well as a midi interface

  • @wizwazzle29 Only your standard quirky keyboard, there is no direct need for anything else.

  • @101MTL im using a microkorg, do i need a midi cable?

  • its cool that you explain the theory man, cheers!

  • Very helpful!

  • @LeslieMoniqueTV Cheers!

  • how large is this software?

  • @Acr3tion The full logic install is 55gb! By no means a waste of install space though!

  • Hi, hope this doesn't sound ungrateful, but I would really appreciate these in 720p, it would make it so much easier to see what you are doing! Other than that, great tutorial, thanks very much!

  • @Jewman4000 hI, YEAH I AGREE! At the time when I did this there was a smaller maximum upload limit...which has since been lifted. What I didnt want to do was upload the video in two or three parts because personally that irritates the hell out of me! Point taken for future videos though!

  • @101MTL Great to see my suggestions being taken :D

  • @Jewman4000 No worries, I try my best to take the advice people give and reply to everyone! Cheers for checking out the vids.

  • @omnomnomandrew haha yup got to keep them hanging on! Cheers for dropping a comment.

  • thanks man this helped a lot

  • @TheDrGuard Glad its help man, check out the rest of my vids you may find a few more gems!

  • thanks duuuuuude!

  • @JimmyKadesch No trouble man! Cheers for taking the time to drop a comment!

  • thanks, this was useful

  • @retrotape99 Cheers, glad you found it useful!

  • outstanding, thanks

  • @generaldefamation Cheers for taking the time to say so!

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it helped me alot! :)

  • @akrabond Glad it was a help thats the aim. Check out the other vids.

  • Yeah, ill just go to fl studio thanks!

  • @jimmmyange When your ready come play studio producer with the big boys on the pro apps.

  • @101MTL I have the same question as Mr Giiizy. When you shut off the oscillators, and preview the sound that Analog Saw Init is going to make, what is the key command/shortcut you use to listen to it?

  • @JBFilms670 If you shut off the oscillators then your turning off the 'sound generator' effectivley meaning there will be no sound to listen to....keep at least one oscillator on at a time and you will get sound. Also if you have oscillator 1 on but your 'triangle' mixer is all the way to oscillator 2 or 3 then you will hear nothing...also check you solos are not on on any channels! Hope this helps!

  • @101MTL This is weird. I have oscillator 1 on, my sound triangle is set to one, volume on both logic and my computer are up, and I still get absolutely no noise from ES2. I can drag loops over and those will play and everything, but ES2 makes no noise. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • @JBFilms670 Hi JB, can you inbox me and I will send you my email so that you can send screen shots. The next step might be having accidentally pressed something and not realised or something is routed wrong but screen shots would be very useful as I want to help you solve this.

  • Great tutorial but i think the resolution could be way better...

  • @quinxx12 Cheers, Ive had this off a few people and point taken. Its a tough thing to see. All future videos will be posted in HD. You tube had a smaller upload limit when I made this ten minute beast! cheers for taking the time to let me know!

  • Very good tutorial! Thanks!

  • @Munchkin303 Cheers for saying so

  • one little favour hope its not too hard to ask for.........USE A BETTER VIDEO RECORDER MAN!

  • @siddique5 Ill look in to it mate, the only issue is if you go higher res then the videos are too big to upload and I prefer to keep videos whole rather than Part 1, part 2 etc. But cheers for taking the time to drop a suggestion.

  • absolutely magnificent tutorial bro

  • @msboys Cheers for dropping a comment!

  • Seriously one of the best tutorials out there. You did a great job man, thanks a lot for your time

  • @SomeBlaqKidd Cheers man, comment is appreciated. You producing?

  • I find ES2 has a really weak sound.

  • @TrenchfootDubstep Hi man, are you using three gens? If not try hooking up Rob Papen's Blue or Predator. These are pricey synths but give a awesome sound. I purely used the ES2 as it is standard with Logic Pro and does not price people out e.g. if I used 'Blue' you'd have to spend £400 to get the synth. Cheers for the comment man.

  • @101MTL Havnt tried blue, predator is sick tho, i used to have it on my pc. Im on mac now and I use NI Massive, legit aswell! cost me 179 euros worth every penny. The standard macs at college dont have any good audio units so have to use logic standard stuff. Anways thanks for putting up the tutorials mate, and was wondering what programme u used to record this tut, its really crisp and clear.

  • you make this sound legit. "theory" makes dubstep sound like its made in harvard.

  • @c25ole Haha, it is man all these LFOs and Oscillators are Scientists toys that we stole from their pram.

  • i've herd the first part a few times over but nice for you to explain, but i found the interesting part in the last minute were you talk about varying the rate. nice one!

  • @DORKDORK999 Shocking when I released this I could not find any video that actually explained clearly the theory. Hey ho! Great that you found at least something on the video useful! And even more cheers for dropping a comment!

  • Hey are you using a midi key board or is there an inbuilt musical typing program?

  • @hennersmannin hi there i use just an Oxygen V2 for small stuff like this, there is a 'keyboard' if you press you caps lock button in Logic then this will appear, alternatively just program the MIDI in the Piano roll view...check out my other videos they explain.

  • @101MTL thank you very much

  • @hennersmannin Anytime my friend

  • 3:57 12 semitones is 1 octave

  • @jmzhorne My apologies a simple slip of tongue, thank you

  • @jmzhorne My apologies a simple slip of the tongue, thanks

  • @101MTL When I do the plain sine thing or anything else im not getting any sound, and when I try anything else like ultra beat its making sound, im using Output 1-2 btw

  • @ZarryyGFX PM so I can get some screen shots off you to solve your problem

  • How the hell do I open ES2?

  • @ZarryyGFX Right, well on the INS/OUTS section which is the blank rectangle just above the box that say 'stereo out' that is just above the channel fader you click and hold and select the es2 which should then pop open if not then double click on the box that was blank but now reads ES2.

  • very well explained, thanks man

  • @mikeesco Cheers thank you for the comment!

  • great video man! I been making beats for about a year doin hip hop instrumentals, just started gettin into dubstep, couldn't quite dial in the whomp I really wanted, this helped alot. Keep em comin!

  • @fender1681 Glad its helped! Keep in touch and feel free to plug your stuff or drop me any questions

  • will this work on Logic Pro 8 as well?

  • @deansinghgill Yeah should do my friend, the ES2 has not change to my knowledge since Logic 7 so yeah!

  • Great tutorial! I have a problem, when I use the oscillator mixer (triangle) no sound appears, also happens with the rest of the controls, do you know why? Thanks.

  • @pabloishere Hmmm thats a tough one hard to tell without it in front of me! Any chance you can take a screen shot and send it to me??

  • @pabloishere I need help on this too. No sound is coming out whenever i do any of it. Sorry.. I'm new to logic

  • @LokomonkeyXx Hi its really hard to trouble shoot over the net for obvious reasons! If you can send me some screen shots to c.france.producer@gmail.com of the ES2 and your Mixer view, cheers

  • @LokomonkeyXx Happy to give help but private message me so we can exchange screen shots, usually if you walk away from it and come back an hour later you'll notice the mistake and kick yourself!

  • Nice thanks man. I'll try to push dubstep music in Montreal when I get better haha.

  • @ZeleAile Keep working hard mate! Drop some this way for me to listen to, would be nice!

  • Wow man, Im not trying to make JUST a dub step track, but im trying to incorporate the dubstep wobble in other stuff like DNB because I think it makes AWESOME build ups and break downs!! THANK YOU for the lesson and keep em coming!!

  • @DJSOUNDWAVE Great to hear that people are trying to experiment with the sounds! Break the boundaries! Drop some this way for a listen my friend!

  • outstanding tutorial! :D

    god job!

  • @Jonatoan thanks very much, any ideas please get in touch

  • @Jonatoan Thanks
