I'm in love with a girl that reminds me of him lol. He reminds me of her, she reminds me of him. Just that whole anti-conformity thing :) It's so fuckin attractive.
I'm not a fan of his performance. I honestly don't like it. But I admire him for being creative and doing what he likes. It is truly a unique performance. I wish him nothing but the best.
Everyone here reminds me of the followers of Forrest Gump when he was running across America. They all came up with deep and meaningful explanations yet he said himself "I just felt like running". This guy is a street performer who has been elevated to a position by people who desperately want to believe in something. I think all the so called "haters" on here are just people refusing to be fooled by anything. I get the feeling this guy is about to pull out a bottle of snake oil and sell it!
I saw him at the SF Museum of Modern art. He was playing for a convention and was fantastic. What I was impressed with at the time was his violin skills. I spent several years trying to figure out who he was. I really enoy his work.
beautiful being. I guess he floats at the quantum level . Many births he has taken to have reached this level of existence . He'll soon merge with the light .
@Sonik02 I come on to look at a video and the first god damn comment is some asshole with an illogical comment, calling someone a faggot. This TYPICAL SHIT is getting old. If you're any older than 15 you're a sad mother fucker.
@JohnBigmon Yes, those people who leave the name calling comments are terrified of anything that is connected. It's their only "defense" against the opening up towards the soft spot, the Bodhichitta in themselves, that they are so afraid of, because they have been so badly hurt in their own lives when they were still connected. It takes time for them to let go of their armor. But I feel the same way as you do about them. Because they perpetuate the hurt. I wish the haters will all heal one day.
@JohnBigmon Oh, no, you didn't say anything wrong, I totally agree with you. Your comment is funny. I love honest comments. No, those haters are extremely annoying to say the least. Ha. That is what they want, they want to annoy us. I talked to some of them, they admit it. That is what they do all day long. It's actually very entertaining to hear them talk to each other. It's like art in itself. Ha.
[X] LOVE - Incredible, thank you for sharing your absolutely amazing talents, beliefs and created world. I hope to see you perform live some day. All the best to you.
This is just a touching human being that has imprinted my soul with new energy, you can feel his spirituality warm your very core with love if you let it in.
In case Thoth reads this: I love you being. And I would have loved to be within you energy bubble, just to be more me.
It is core pleasing to see the people that moves within your bubble, suddanly get freed, and let themselves be playfull. And then to se the crowd keeping their distance, just out of rech of were the bubbles meet. But the kids dare to feel it, and become fasinated by it.
You live the love of cultures, you are the beauty of the world as one huge familly personafied.
I envy his ability to wear metals and metalics, as I am allergic to them. I hope he achieves enough stature to perform before paying audiences and get out of the rain and snow.
I'm glad I watched this. He's such a creative thinker and I think he'd do well if he turned his story (not his life story but his fantastical story into a book series. Also, I think with some money behind him, a proper stage production of his performance would be really cool.
I feel truly BLESSED after watching this enlightening documentary! I feel inspired to just BE, and let what comes out come out! It's better than the alternative, being a shallow unfeeling shell of a person! Blessings to you THOTH!!! You inspire me to pour my true heart and soul into my music, and everything I do!
I don't care what the majority thinks the guy's a little bit out there. Either way the he's having fun selling his wares & living the way he wants so what the hell, rock on man!
He is an inspiration to watch. He knows how to express himself in ways most people are afraid to. I strive to have the courage he has and i will learn to express myself openly and let the nay sayers fall to the side.
I sometimes wonder, when people mention that he is "Crazy" or "Sick" What a person's motivations are for saying such a thing. What exactly is their "expectations" Of what an artist should be? I am perplexed.
Why do people feel they have the right to tell someone how to live their lives? or make personality judgments based on a person's artistic expression? The whole goal here is to discover one's uniqueness, cater to that and be happy! Everyone has that right.
I saw him in the tunnel in Central Park a couple years ago, and hadn't heard of him prior to that. What I loved seeing, both there and in this film, is the way young children react to him.
They aren't thinking, "this person is very strange and therefore frightening, stupid, or a worthy of mocking" the way some older kids and adults do.
I remember seeing this guys on Americas got talent and thinking he was the only interesting thing on the whole show, despite the judges instantly rejecting him as a mental case.
when we find balance in the masculine and feminine we allow ourselves to expand to higher planes of consciousness. If men were to embrace the feminine (through heart connection, connecting with their emotions), as well as preserving their masculine (finding purpose, maintaining integrity), our planet can move to higher consciousness, a world connected in love.
As Stephan (Thoth) said to walk in this world as (a) Being, when everyone else is trying 'to Be" is a challenge... Wise words... I didn't quote him exactly, but his thought will remain with me as he is someone who IS -
Thank you for this moving and well-made documentary of a remarkable individual!
Thoth, your music and you being on Earth is your job, and I wish people can appreciate how you bring blessing and spiritual enlightenment to them. You teach what it is to be truly human, and free.
I think I used to see Thoth perform with a small group of musicians in Downtown San Francisco. I'm going to rent the movie about him in order to be sure. If I'm correct, his act in Central Park is much more wild and intense then the way he would perform here.
He is only called crazy because HIS STYLE of music is different from Western Pop Culture, if he had a million dollar budget and recreated "the land of Mir" on a Las Vegas stage with dancers and a symphony, he would be called genius, but because he is so raw and on the streets many people remain blind and deaf, too many people on respond to The Package of things, not the content and the power.
@FoolyCoolyMabase Stop reducing the whole of NYC to your closed minded standards, he is LOVED in NYC, and that only adds to The Greatness Of New York City!
I've seen Thoth a few times in Central Park. His music and performance are utterly bizarre, beautiful and riveting. Never saw this doc before, though heard abt. it. Amazing story about an amazing person.

A fantastically moving & spiritually enlightening documentary. I experienced so many emotions watching this. What a talented individual & yes I believe he is a messenger as he said . The message I received from him was, you don't have to sacrifice your soul & conform to other peoples image of acceptability.
I went to a big city and saw street musicians for the first time last week. There was an amazing cellist. He was homeless, but he was good enough to be on stage or in a major symphony and people just walked by, not noticing. There was also a guy who was playing guitar and hula hooping at the same time. He even balanced the guitar on his chin, strummed it, and hula hooped all at the same time! It's amazing the talent that's out there!
"Everyday from wednesday thru sunday, 3 to 5" ...when I lived in NYC I rode my bicycle as a sport in Central Park almost everyday and he was my obliged stop... his show is one of the very few things I miss from the city... great duo with the girl... it brought me a lot of emotions and peace to listen and see the show... Thank you Toht!!
HThis is an amazing man with an amazing talent. Very hunting, beautiful and real. Im in Chciago so I dont know about him...but this documentary has helped me with my own personal struggle. When I visit NYC I hope to see him if he's still performing.
I think its interesting that most people who dont understand his work or other subjective art forms are normally the people who send ppl like him into a deep depression.
Kudos to this unique artist who has found a way to exhibit his creativity in a postive way. Many tortured souls succumb to destructive avenues that affect more than just themselves anf their own lives.
If you watched carefully, I would hope you observed the faces of the youngest children, totally mesmerized by a language that they intrinsically understood - a language expressed through music, art and dance. One could learn from the children's absence of judgement.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought anything could ever ruin Central Park for me. I love the park but sorry this guy is creepy at best.. Even more shocking is that Josh Groban linked this on Twitter.. Yikes.. Can't believe he hasn't been 'committed' or at least removed from the Best Park in the World. Haven't a clue the language but hells bells he's off key big time. SICK in a not good way.. UGH!
Thoth is an enigmatic being. The documentary outlines the context of his life and explains many of his actions. Many things can occur in life to leave a profound and indelible mark on us, becoming the driving factor influencing what we become. I applaud that he is able to expose his very core in this fashion. The effect he has on an audience is intense. Toddlers appear mesmerized by his performance and are testimony to Thoths ability to spiritually touch us.
A diamond from coal. It's too bad that those on the streets who obviously are judging can't see the eternal flame that is burning here. I hope for not a prosperous future for you, but rather the path to light in which you seek. It won't be prosperous in our sense, but in a way it puts you above so many of us. God bless you.

UGH!

Weird. What The Hell Does This Have To Do With Thoth?
jtdsman 2 years ago
