Interesting idea... this stove was just a test set up, to see what works. My new design runs a 3.5" intake/flu pipe vs. 3". The new stove is sealed around the top and filled with vermiculite for insulation. Vermiculite is plenty light and insulates very well, much better than wood ash.
I have been meaning to get a video up of the new streamlined version that I made last spring. keep an eye out for it soon!
@bornfromground Potbelly would be good for home or emergency, after a tornado you could use you splintered house to fuel your rocket stove ! You need to add a pot shield also, better efficiency !
Great Rocket Stove!

If you could have sealed the tank around the feed tube & chimney, you could have added a schrader valve and pulled a vacuum like on a thermos bottle.

what kind of insulation are you using?

just ordinary wood ash, it's only about a quarter way full in the video but is still enough to create a decent draft for cooking on.

Very very cool rocket stove. You've got it down to a pure form. Thanks for sharing!

hey thanks bro, anytime. I think i got pretty lucky on scavenging the parts and having access to a welding shop helped a lot.
I've been working on finding some more tanks, I'm thinking either a smoker or potbelly stove would be fun for the next project.
-take care
