It should not be a surprise to anybody that an electric will beat all of the normal gas or diesel cars because electrical motors have the most torque immediately at the very first electrical contact, all of the electric motor power is given out right from the start unlike any internal combustion engines.
i love gas engines but this car kicks ass sadly i cant work on cars where i live now but as soon as i can im building 1 not a drag car just something to scew the gas companys with lol

@kostea13 Maybe after they finish the work on the carbon nanotube solar panels, that will become practical. As things stand, our current silicone solar panels suck.
at my high school (mount vernon, iowa) we have a club that converts an origionally gas powered car to completely electric and enter it in a nation competition. its a blast to drive and autocross with.
it's not all torque(though it is a big part of the advantages instant torque) the white zombie has around 300hp, the torque along with the power levels is what makes this car awsome. id like to see a internal combustion car run next to the zombie with exactly the same power and no gearbox in the drive train

In electrical motors torque goes to maximum instantaneously, which is why a good electrical engine will always beat a gas or diesel engine of equivalent power.

People won't give up gas guzzlers if electric cars look like three wheeled cockroaches or bicycles. They'll switch when an electric car looks like a regular car. The Toyota Prius is proof of that.
@zxcv1234vcxz Prius is not electric. Tesla looks normal, but is super expensive. Sure anyone can pack enough batteries into a car to make a feasible 1/4 mile car, but that doesn't mean the public will buy it.
