  • Folks, this man is a vocalist. There is such a difference between a singer-- that's what we do in the shower, tormenting the tiles and pipes-- and a vocalist, who is a master at delivering not just the note but the emotion behind it. Jack's phrasing and emotion are flawless. A fantastic performance and the audience rewards with thunderous applause. Thanks for sharing this!

  • This is the best vocal rendition of this song I've ever heard! FLAWLESS!! Unfortunately singing of this quality doesn't exist anymore! DAMN!

  • Jack is TOPS! Tough song to sing. Tommy Dorsey's Theme in the original key (D) yet! I thought Hollywood Palace was in color by 1968?

  • Make no mistake..this is a tough song to sing. The intervals go all over the range but,no surprise, the master delivers with ease....

  • Well done - quality voice.

  • The words were written by Ned Washington and the music was written by George Bassman.

    1932

  • Who wrote this song? Ink Spots or Jack?

  • God! What a range. Beautiful with feeling. He is the best ever.

  • His singing speaks for itself. One of the finest singers of the last generation. Young people today are surfing our music and opening their eyes and ears. It's about time!

  • @RHenningSr A great,great singer.

I am a 68yo Australian living in Melbourne,Victoria & i purchased one of Jack's albums called "Where Is Love",which has the theme from "Valley Of The Dolls','Suzanne',"Old Man River' & 8 other tracks. His version of "Suzanne' is amazing.I was lucky to buy it for AUD 1 Dollar at a record shop sale.

Another one of Jack's albums i have is called "All To Yourself" & had 20 tracks on it,including "Yesterday When I Was Young,"Homeward Bound,"If You Could Read My Mind".

  • @music1831 Can you possibly post 'Homeward Bound'? & - if you have it - also Jack's version of 'By the Time I get to Phoenix'? Thanx. I wonder too if Jack did - & recorded - his own rendition of Mack the Knife.

  • @amotspheres Jack Jones did indeed record "Mack the Knife." It's on his album "New Jack Swing," which is available from iTunes and other places online.

  • Jack Jones sings this song with so much feeling. He is a brilliant vocalist ,Pure Vocals & Great range..5 *****..Marc Jones-Vocalist..Los Angeles,U.S.A.
