@PutItAway101 You can't actually play a stringed instrument without playing harmonics. A harmonic of a wave is a component frequency of the signal that is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency. Every note you play will have harmonics in it.

And I know what you mean - he doesn't touch the string lightly and pluck - that would be playing ONLY harmonics because you block out the larger wavelength with your finger.

You're just being a douchy guitar player.
