@1248163264128256512 - It's as good a camera having all the same shooting numbers (lensmm, photo processing, HD), and the only difference is that the 960 doesn't use the full backside of the camera as the 3500 does.
I have this camera and to my amazement it doesn't have a landscape mode. The manual says to select "Auto" to shoot landscape scenes. I used it on trip to London and shooting landscape in Auto mode made the pics blurry. This camera is not made for traveling.
@bloodline305 - Thanks for your opinion, I'd agree "if" you zoom your camera a lot. For me, when I travel, I like to shoot things close up and personal wanting the scratches of life, and this is where the 3500 excels.
Great review got a hold of this unit for super cheap but with a bad battery was thinking bout returning it but after watching this I'm going to track down a replacement battery

@ethanharveytv What would you recommend for filming something like a dark dance party, but you want to see both the people and the DJ lights without it being blurry?
Thanks for this review! I've been searching the market for a decent, general use camera and you've sold me on the Canon PowerShot SD3500IS! The only information I didn't get from this review is if the camera preforms well in high-noise venues (ie; concerts) Yes, I'm a sneeker-inner of my camera as I find the short videos I manage to get make awesome memories. I've experienced cameras that do poorly when recording at this decibel level, and some that do surprisingly well! Either way, I'm sold.
I have bought this camera, but am very dissapointed in the picture quality...it seems to be worst than my SD200 from over 5 years ago....i hope it's because I don't know how to use it....what am i doing wrong!?
Just a general question. I want to upload 720p HD video to youtube, do I need any type of software to change the files if they're too big for the website? I should get my SD-3500 camera delivered tomorrow.
hye you tube since there r many genius here so i want yours help listen guys this is what i want i want a digital camera well have no money issue i am interested in buy ing a touch screen camera well there r just tooo many options and the things which confuses me that i dont have an idea that which camera came 1st in the market what the new model and whats old ........ so pls guys recommend somrthing to me which is very impressive??? and also give me some reasons toooo
I tried this at the photo store, the shutter LAG is really apparent, which is really important to me....although the other features are amazing. I'm not sure if I should get this camera.
Wow thanks again everyone! I'm doing a review in the next week or so of Canon's Rebel T2i. If you're thinking of buying the SD3500IS get a great deal following the link in my video's description.
Excellent review. It's refreshing to see you cover virtually everything from the camera to even the editing process and what you recommend. Most reviews drone on in monotone or it'll be a girl checking out the camera and she'll go on and on about the colors it comes in or how stylish the camera looks. Keep the videos coming.
Fantastic review. But just one thing. One of the most important things I look for in a review, is a demonstration of shutter lag. It's important to see what happens when you pick up the camera to get that important shot. I have a camera that I would not have purchased if I had seen how long it took to get that first shot.
Thanks again everyone for your kind comments, liking, and subcribing! If you like the camera, please consider buying it using the link in the video's description. It's a great price and I get a small commission if you do helping to support more videos like this. @MadamaB, the camera is a point and shoot, so it's only got one lens. There's a setting on the camera for Macro shooting, which this camera did really well with.
This is THE best damn camera review I have watched on Youtube and lemme tell ya... I take a ton of photos and vids... and watch/read a ton of reviews online.
Kudos.... looking forward to watching your other reviews. Keep up the great work!
Thanks everyone for your comments and Subscribing. I found a really good deal through Amazon if you're interested in buying one, and it will help support more videos like this one. Just follow the link in the description.
Thanks everyone for Subscribing and your like ratings and comments! @Razear - With all digital cameras now sporting video ability as well, "point and shoot" is a term we may see disappear soon. It's the 24mm lens, Canon's amazing color catching abilities, and the HD video that sold me on this camera.
I'm upgrading from my SD890IS and was looking at the SD980IS. But looks like Canon is phasing that model out. Now that the SD3500IS is out, I'm really interested in it but not sure if the hefty $280 price tag for a high-end point and shoot is worth it.
@noodlebox - That's what makes buying a digital camera so difficult these days. With SO MANY options, it becomes a weighing game to try and get as many of your wish list as you can. The SX210IS is better if you like to zoom (14x) alot and has a 28mm lens (standard).
Thanks everyone for your comments and ratings! @polkadot - Well I hope I answered your question over email, that like I mention in the video, digital cameras short of the Canon Rebel T2i don't auto focus once the video is recording. Thanks @jaronbs though I don't think I hold a candle to what my dad's voice was.
so, if i were to get this camera for makeup tutorials.... if i wanted to show a color, would i have to make several movies? as in start stop start stop?
Great review!!! Learned a lot. You ought to do this full time. The only voice I have heard that is as good as yours was your father's -- but then he was one of the stars of radio drama years ago. You've got SOUND DNA, kid!
Your review is the best one I have ever seen. It was so good that at first I thought it was a professional ad (which it is not). In addition, your voice is perfect for multimedia. I suggest you actually do this professionally. Thanks again for the entertaining and informative review. Your choice to answer, in great detail, by an email was a smart idea. I just got my SD3500 this week.
Wow, thanks for the kudos! I'm just getting started here, so if you like you can subscribe (if you haven't already if so thanks!) and keep up to date with any vids I produce.
How do you change the date and time?

I got the SD3500IS and I hate it because it does bad job in lwo light. I needed it to do low light video and it is bad.

@nysoundwaves - the 3500 performed great in low light situations.
