  • @NicDHa it didn't arived yet, i live in brazil so it take some time. I'll get it this week, can't wait for it. When i get my hands on it I'll tell you how it is.

  • one of the screws fell out on the little bars near the blade and i cant find it... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

  • @tarheelskk send it to bm and they'll replace it

  • Still trying to decide between this and the 62 coming out.

  • @zysilveria the 62 got somewhat of a latch gate, it looks like. main difference would be weight, looks, and price. either way, you get a great bali.

  • @zysilveria 62 all the way.

  • Just bought one, my first bali. Can't wait to get it.

  • @Marcelos11 take a look at the limited version on the benchmade 51 nice blade greenish color :)

  • @Marcelos11 how is it?

  • Benchmade 51 or 32?

  • I have a Kimura 3 balisong, i got it for about 100$

I really like the things i hear about the 51 and i like that its lighter then mine.

I was just wondering, anyone that has both of these knives or just the 51 if its worth twice the price of my kimura.

  • my srceen frosted up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the red would stand out more than blue :)

  • man i really want one of these, but is it woth forking over that much money when i can get 3-4 nice high value knives instead?

  • Hey Jeff, love your videos. So you talked about possibly sending it in to get it re-anodized. I'm thinking of doing just that and don't really know where I'd send it in to. So where did you have in mind? and would it keep the patterns on the inserts? Thanks!

  • The spine is "crowned".

  • Gold on black would be awesome, especially since the titanium liner is already jeweled.

  • Killer review!! I own a 42 and have a green and gold limited production 51 on the way. Can't wait. On these limited production 51s they have stone washed SV30 steel that is numbered on the blade. Example (111 of 200). Just killer. I am a huge collector and and can't wait to get my hands on this Bali- song. Watch your six.

  • I just realized you posted this in 2009 and said that in about a year if they're still making them the price should go from $265 down to about 180-200.

    2011 and they're still $265

  • @bubblebrainz7l7 msrp.... bladeplay has them for 199

  • hey, I just got into balisongs and I am about to upgrade from my bear and son bali. would you recomend the 51 or the 32?

  • I have ONE BM42 left, if interested MESSAGE me, but act fast cause it won't last!

  • @kapipo1 ill pay 300

  • @kapipo1 ill pay 300

  • ignore the last mrsjosie2024 post that was me thinking i was signed into my account

fucking google keeps signing her into youtube when she checks her Gmail

  • looking at a bradley kimura prototype can i get your opinions on this blade

  • @mrsjosie2024 there is a review of it...

  • You sound like the scout - irony.

  • 6:16 i removed the clip and now i cant put it back together, DONT REMOVE THE DAMN CLIP

  • i just ordered my 51, exclucive one of 200 made green g10 with gold anodized titanium :D will post a vid soon

  • Are the G-10 handles shatter-proof?

  • what is the best balisong that isn't the 42 model?

  • We have the same serial number ! 0.0

  • Did you ever make that video comparing the 32 with the 51?

  • If balisongs are illegal in the USA why are they made in the USA

  • @FallingSkyCows I herd u liek state laws.

  • @FallingSkyCows Balisongs aren't illegal in the all parts of the US

  • Don't feel stupid, the preview idea is really funny

  • Hey, i just recieved my model 51 a few days ago, iam loving the knife, but the handles are a little lose(they wobble a tiny bit), i tried tightening up the pivot screws but once i get it to the point where it doesn't wobble anymore the blade moves with extreme resistance, i was thinking about applying some sort of lubricant on the pivot screws but iam not sure which lubricants are safe or not, could i have your thoughts on this and what i could do to fix this?

    Thanks a lot.

    Dennis.

  • @7footShadow Its supposed to have some play.. the handles are supposed to be a little "loose" so that the blade is moving free If its really loose then only tighten it up a bit if not just loosen it back to original

  • @7footShadow

its fine if they have some wobble, don't worry about it

  • i just got my 51 this week. i have to admit i was pretty disappointed by the blade not being very sharp at all. d2 isn't my favorite. great video as always

  • It will heal faster but it also takes longer to stop bleeding BECAUSE its a clean cut. I have filleted my hand open minutes after stropping my blade and it can take up to an hour for the blood platelets to coagulate and stop the bleeding.

  • @cutlerylover you were talking about how cheap knives indent where the tan pin hits, does that happen on the Bradley kimura?

  • Selling my BM51. Like new in box. Pm me! Going for 170 shipped

  • is it legal in california and if so where

  • @mikster97 yes theyre legal in cali but its illegal to carry in public if the blade is more than 2 inches that law applies for all knives

  • @HarveyMilk26 does not apply to all knives, only balisongs and switchblades. I can carry my cold steel rajah in cali if I like, and I am not breaking the law when I do.

  • @SactownClownin oh ok thanks

  • The gpknives has gold liners not blue green g10 not black and s30v not d2

  • and its s30v

  • @pnkrocker881

Correction: the blade is D2 tool steel.

    I prefer S30V, though.

  • jeff check out gpk! they have a green g10/gold liner exclusive ltd edition kinda last minute its only 200 pieces!

  • would you need to locktight this?

  • I finally have the money to get one of these. Shipping right now, I can't wait!

  • Balisongs are legal to carry in Oregon, where Benchmade's HQ is.

  • @cutlerylover Should I get a 32 mini morpho or a 51 morpho. Also should it be black or is the extra money not worth it?

  • @Redy8009 for your first one i would get the satin blade not the black

  • benchmade needs to bring back the 42... : /

  • i know ur busy with the new website n all but would u prefer this over bradley kimura series?

  • Would you sell me one of these? If so, for how much?

  • Great knife, been using ever since my 3 cheap knives fell apart systematically. So much better.

  • Everyone talks about the Bmade 42, but I can't find one to buy anywhere.... so the 51 is going to be in my cart after I resell my Lum Tanto Sprint

  • @MrSkippydoodle You're the douchebag. Why don't you go fuck yourself you stupid hypocritical, immature 18 year old. Don't start shit for no reason. This man does what he does because he enjoys it. And you? You're the kind of person that I wouldn't mind getting my expensive knife dirty on. Catch my drift, jackass?

  • Been abusing the shit out of my model 51..

I had a problem where the latch would get suck in the open position while filliping, you can take the g10 layer off, and put a bar in there for tension (i used a tiny phillips) and bend it a bit back, no more problem!

  • @MrSkippydoodle no, i think the reason you dont go showing off your knives is because you dont have any knives nice enough to show off. Also, i've come up with a solution. Every day, i carry a 710, as well as a 51. if i'm ever cutting something i'm afraid might damage my knife or whatever, i use the 710, not the 51, though there are times that i use the 51. and i dont worry about my 710 because the only thing i will damage is the blade, which i can replace. plus there is the lifetime warranty.

  • ok guys i think the comments are getting a little out of hand...... last i checked, this video is about a knife, not sex toys.... how about we talk about the knife and not anal sex toys and boyfriends??? idk just seems like a good idea to me.

  • @MrSkippyDoodle

Hey. How many things do you love to do, and love to share with the world and others that share your passion? Your boyfriend? thats what i thought, fucken fag.

  • @mrvenom1231 Dont insult his collection of anal sex toys. If he wants to be a cock sucking faggot, let him. Some people masturbate, and i guess some people get off on shoving long rubber penises up there ass. Well, whatever floats your boat and makes you come.

  • should i get this knife or no sum1 plz respond fast!!!!!

  • @1234alienkiller yes you should. buy off blade hq, lowest price of 190

  • @Mr69avocado GPknives has it for $165 plus shipping

  • Hey jeff, Im confused on The Flipping Arena, I dont no how to trade a knife or something, Im looking to trade a Benchmade Model 51 for a Spyderco Spyderfly, Do you think you could find someone willing to trade?

  • @MrSkippydoodle you know your just making an ass of yourself knocking on something that someone likes to do. What if i were to see what you do as a hobby and tell you straight to your face that its dumb that i don't like it think about how that would feel, and also consider this im going to start up a hobby of collecting bali-songs. So next time think before you post as you could offend some people quite a lot.

  • @MrSkippydoodle " i think i missed it when i was having sex with a woman" I love this comment, its just goes to show your just another hypocritical douchebag...hmmm I have a real life and get laid so I dont have time to collect knives...yet you comment on a knife review on youtube...yeah...whatever man...

  • @cutlerylover your comment to mrskippydoodle made my day thank you!

  • @MrSkippydoodle "most people dont put that kind of money into a knife." Ever been to bladeforums? 100,000 strong and a good cunk of them own several knives worth $500 each...ever been to a knife show? you wouldnt want to eb showing off your bear and sons balis there...to each there one, buy quality once and enjoy it forever buy cheap and keep replacing it...either way your going to spend the money

  • the 51BK is a lot better

  • amazon sales the same one

  • just got mine a couple days ago, love it. i use it all the time at work even gutted a couple fish with it, the blade is still flawless i broke the edge down a little on a fine stone to make it last a little longer

  • i just got a benchmade knife (940 osborne) that is next on my list

  • I'm thinking about selling my 32 to get a 51 my views about carrying balisong have changed and the 51 seems like something I would like to use and flip

  • @Hissatsu5 how much?

  • @delbert505 not sure I'm working on some other transactions that I need to take care of first

  • or 32/51

  • can u sell me a 42

  • where did you get your knife

  • i love this knife that is all i have to say i have been saving up for it so hopefully i will have one soon i have the bradley kimura II right now and i love it i just put up a review it would be cool if you could check it out and give some advice

  • you need to make a new review for this balisong with beter quality

  • Is there a BM51 black (prefferably serrated)

  • @xNuclearWiNTeR Yessirr, plain and serr, look up "benchmade 51 balisong" on BladeHQ.c0m

wanna let me know what the difference is between the two?

  • I'm getting my 51 on thursday, looking forward to it.

  • if the pin doesnt stay straight like the 42, wont it accidently hit the blade and damage it?

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan no the design keeps it away from the blade

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan it does have a whatcamakallit gate so it goes down, but not that far down

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan the latch gate prevents that from getting near the tip of the blade. it even locks in the open position with the new style spring. very nice IMO.

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan No, the blade isn't long enough to hit it, same with the 32. They learned their lesson from the old T-latch benchmades haha

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan No. As he said in the video, it would bounce back before it got anywhere near the blade. Benchmade is smart, theres a reason for every modification design.

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan No. As he said in the video, it would bounce back before it got anywhere near the blade. Benchmade is smart, theres a reason for every modification design.

  • @JapaneseAnimationMan I assume it has a latch gate.

  • The spacers aren't decorative, they actually add weight to the handles and give the knife more balance towards the handles. I thought they were also decorative, but I found out that they were heavier than usual spacers lol

  • i've come to like the 51 more than the 42.....

  • just picked up my model 51. cheap balisongs just don't compare. Its like holding a Les Paul after a Fender squire. People pay more for cellphones that they will replace after a few years, this knife is going to last much much longer.

  • Comment removed

  • @MPSecare I got those two guitar and i can't agree more ^^

  • have the inserts uparmored.

  • The handles look sandwiched. If that's the case, how sturdy are they? Can you squeeze them and have the two sides come together like you did in your "Quality vs Crap" video?

  • @BoozyBeggar On my 51 if I squeeze the middle as hard as I can they will squish together about 1 to 2 millimeters.

  • @ehhhhhhfssssssfdtg Ah, so its solid. Good, thanks for the info.

  • I suppose you wasted my time talking about f*cking "pouch".

  • Should i get this or 32 morpho?

  • I have this blade and it's amazing, but I hope Benchmade comes out with another full titanium blade. I really want this "click-clack" noise that full metal will give.

  • Does the latch ever get in the way during flips?

  • @Insertnamehere01 No. I can't figure out how to explain the system but no it won't get in the way

  • just bought mine. can't wait to see it next week

  • i found it funny that in New York, where (legal) concealed weapons are few and far in between because of the strict laws, you can carry any knife (as defined by the state) you want as long as you dont intend to injure with it.

while in South Carolina, where they have tax free gun sales on Labor Day and very simple and lenient CCW laws, you cant carry a knife over 2.5 inches....

  • dog

  • my favourite model

  • Comment removed

  • Just got my 51 today, I do seem to have a problem though. My latch doesn't seem to pop open unless pressure is applied to the actual latch itself via thumb while squeezing. Not sure if theres some adjustment i need to make. Lit

  • @Vehei00 probably benchmades fault

  • 15 assholes dont know how to live

    thay disliked this vid

  • he shod do a new review on the 51 in HD!!!!!

  • hey where did you find one for 190

  • @rsinall93 $165 in PA.

  • I sadly rate this a 4/5 because, I lost the T6 torx screw next to the bite handle on the pocket clip side after 36 hours of purchase and approximately 1000 opening and closures. The latch screws constantly need re-screwing and if you screw them to tight they will make the latch stuck. As my first balisong I'd say it's extremely precision engineered in design but the screws were over looked. I would use loc-tite but that could compromise the spinning axles. The safe side latch paint wares off to.

  • Just bought one....cost me an arm and a leg but OH MY GOD the difference between a 15 bucks cheapo and this is amazing.

  • AWTHOME

  • Comment removed

  • u make me feel bad when u say cheapo balisong and such those are just to expensive for me to afford

  • @SPINEXM1 it is what it is, I feel bad when I see cool old muscles cards I can never buy, thats just life...if your really into teh hobby you will save upo for a nice one if you diotn care that much then your cheapo will be fine

  • @cutlerylover yeah, thats true, i bought the BMW e46 from 2002 year, and now i dunno who will buy fuel for me coz we've got bad times in Poland.

  • @cutlerylover "If something's worth doing, it's worth doing right"

  • @cutlerylover hey i would like to trade but i do not know where or what website can you pleas fill me in thx

  • @cutlerylover I couldnt agree more jeff, You should not feel bad because someone says they are "Cheapo" because the truth is they are, Its hard to find a decent balisong for anything under 100$ besides a Kimura, Other balisongs will break and are made very poorly, If you truely love the hobby you would save up for a Benchmade, $200 is not that much money and it is defently worth it to invest into a Benchmade balisong.

  • what happens when you drop it on like cement or tile?

  • @TheMrairsoftkid if you drop it on the tip it will most probably snap the tip off but if you drop it anywhere else (apart from the blade) it should be fine

  • @TheMrairsoftkid it looks better

  • at 27:32 : Gentlemen...

  • Gentlemen...

  • a live blade lol i hate messing up gun and knife terms. the other day i said check out my new pistol sheath XD

  • Jeff-

is it illegal to own a balisong if you're in a state that doesnt alow you to carry them? because my dad gave me one that he had before they became illegal in my state and i dont want to get in trouble.

    -Schneib

  • @schneibgamer1 im not jeff obiously (wish i was) but most of the time you are allowed to be in possession but not have it concealed (carried) but you can google it

  • were do i find which states they are legal to carry in?

  • anyone know how good of a flipper the 51 is?

  • @BFBC22

i think it flips very well and i have the 4x series to compare it to

  • i am looking for a model 42 can any 1 healp me out?

  • @XxxxXAndrewXxxxX1 go to the benchmade website

  • @RAINMAN22TP they discontinued them

  • does it have a spring latch the same as the benchmade model 42?

  • doggy

  • @yoyosrule321 you r really really funny btw, like lol. i would date u if i was a girl. if iwas ugly betty

  • @cutlerylover what kind of oil

  • @cutlerylover is there a model of this that comes with a Bowie style blade instead of the spearpoint blade?

  • not there isnt

  • @cutlerylover you are by far the best reviewer/collector/trainer there is on youtube, i have watched all your balisong vids. i am a collecter myself but nothing compared to u keep it up pls and how about a reveiw on the model 53

  • @pinolikescheeseidont there is 1

  • thnx

  • whats loctite

  • @pinolikescheeseidont

Basically, from what I understand, loctite (blue 242 I believe is what you would use) makes it that your knife's pivots will not come loose. If you want to loosen it you could heat it up.

  • Would you recommend this as a beginner flipper?

  • @cutlerylover whee do you live man like i want to move there just for the wepons to be legal un like fuckin canada

  • @AZAZOZ

Just move the the USA. With proper licenses you can own grenade launchers (and HE frag grenades fro them) full auto guns, silencers, and just about any type of weapon you can imagine. Of course you need a clean criminal record and money for tax stamps but it's still possible. Without licenses you can get a flamethrower, and I beleive a minigun.

  • many people dont know it but you can put your weed in that puch

  • @jimkressin Because of how it opens.

  • i got my first real bali in the mail today, its the bm 51

  • How do you take the clip off? I unscrewed it, but the two threaded prongs are stuck to it.
