  • look at tiff smiling after the first corner lol i love this guy

  • People who says that tiff is a bad drive dont even know what driving is.

  • 0:40 FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • tin needle is a faggot driver my man dnt have a clue...

  • @alemcodon Your just a fucking jigalo and the only thing you can drive is a screw driver up your arse!!

  • @nas4m wtf's up ur ass? The man mangles cars everywhere he goes, watch the soarer drift vid, the ferrari crash.....and hes clearly a homo.

wot u got a crush on him or something?

  • @alemcodon You dumb ass tiff is amazing it looks ruff because hes right on the edge of a car that snaps like a bitch when, you finish 3rd in Le Mans was witch happen in 1990. then you can talk shit but shut it till then....

  • im betting it would take the stig like 10 minutes or so less.

  • that's fuckin masterclass for just ordinary mortals driving their pandas out there :D

  • Tiff is such a lad.

  • Finally a supercar for people with cataracts!

  • Tiff, WTF is all that wheel sawing about?

    Stop it!

  • @angusdawe I'm sure Tiff knows what he'd doing.

  • It's nice to see Tiff isn't one of those limp-wristed wheel shufflers. Crossing arms is the way of the dragon.

  • did the car auto shifted at 0:46?

  • @ToInfinity1 i think it just gained grip from that oversteer

  • @ToInfinity1 Looks like it did, electronics to save the engine lol

  • @ToInfinity1 yeah what was that? :s

  • Tiff awesome skills!

  • You can see why this thing could eat anything on a track, never has a RWD front engined car came close to achieving what this car can do on a track.

  • @dufunk10 yea.....right until the ferrari 599 gto came along

  • @dwildkat Bullshit Man, Just look what the LFA did on the nurburghring, plus not really fair to compared a 6.0L V12 against a 4.8L V10 and funny enough the toyota engine has more impressive figures considering it capicity than that ferrari u mentioned,

  • @dufunk10 Hey relax dude...I was only correcting your statement about a RWD front engine car. in that class the GTO is the better track car, bigger engine or not. Plus 7:38 minutes on the ring isn't that impressive...the GTO should do at the very least 10 seconds faster

  • hard handling there

  • Finally, a supercar for women. Vogue magazine recommends the lavender exterior with the black interior, but not white because that would be a fashion faux pas.

  • This old guy can drive... He's very, very good...

  • 8 people were rich enough to buy the LFA, but were too late because they all sold out.

  • beep

  • There worst part is I can't even do this on Need For Speed.

  • Go on Tiff!

  • Tiff is the man!

  • @superfast30 His driving is just amazing, so good!

  • OMG guys, maybe he's sliding on purpose. Do you think that guy who had a chance to drive that beast (it is a beast) doesn't know how to drive to get faster lap ? Maybe you criticizing him would kindly show us the video with your behind the wheel action, of course the wheel of LFA as I understand you got to know so much about this car's hjandling.

  • @gornes You're so right! You can clearly tell he's sliding it around by the way he punches the throttle. Imagine arguing that Tiff Needell is a bad driver, some people haven't got a clue!

  • Great sound

  • so this cant be a fastest lap run. hes driving like he has parkinsons. wheres the smoothness on the throttle and steering. hes driving that lfa like hes on gravel

  • Look at all those quick steering adjustments I wouldn't have done! Tiff is the man.

  • When he does the full review could anyone tell me what song it is when he's about to get in the car please...searched everywhere and still can't find anything close!!

Very nice car that though! (Y)

  • sooooo sick. less beeping next time and better camera angels

  • tiff ur my hero, whipping this lex like there's no tomorrow w/ a smile on the face =)

  • Tiff says " Whoaaaaa a bit of oversteer whoaaaa now a bit of understeer and a little oversteer and we rocket out of the corner whoasaaaaaaa"

  • Lexus thinks the people who'll buy this car don't know when to change gears.

  • Comment removed

  • @clintonpuah Man that's a Japanese thing all together. I believe the Mazda RX-7 FD era had the same thing. It is quite annoying.

  • @clintonpuah And your probably right because driving skill doesn't increase with the size of your wallet.

  • @clintonpuah indeed!! paris hilton bought one..

  • @President2Europe Wanna know something kinda funny, it was actually a boyfriend who bought it for her. Now I don't like her or anything, but looking at the car she owns, and how she personally has never crashed any of them, I find it pretty funny that if you put her and you in a serious race in this car, I bet she would win. Now thats funny.

  • Tiff rules!

  • every corner i was liek NOOOO be CAREFUL!!

  • He's not sliding it, he's controlling the oversteer with opposite lock.

  • @afthefragile

that's my point, but (seems) someone else didn't get it at all

  • @afthefragile hahah well doesnt that mean that hes sliding it??? if he wasnt sliding he wouldnt be using opp lock

  • That's some car control right there

  • Camera angle is not very good.

  • Lol it's fun to read all the comments about why the car is sliding haha. Sliding the car is NEVER fast. Simple as that. He is just showing off in this video for the

It's not hard to slide a car when going slow, the hard part is to not slide it when you are going fast

  • @sdimm

    not 100% true

people like Colin McRae(and countless Flying Finns) cannot won their champions if they are not sliding their cars :D

  • @volante8657 And the cars were sliding cause they were going so fast rather than them forcing it to that :)

  • @volante8657 Colin is not from Finland....

  • @sdimm very true. I dont think a lot of people understand the physics of driving a car fast through a corner so i will simplify.

    sliding around is badddd

    no sliding is good.

tiff saggressive streering and throttle is badddd

smooth on\off throttle and steering control is goood

  • @pretty00lights true... bt what people dont understand is how it is much harder to drive a rear wheel drive car round a track vs the gtr or the 911 gt2 rs round a track with their all-wheel drive... bt tiff was just driving for fun not as serious as it appeared to be...

  • @ammthizzowner 911 gt2 rs is rwd.....not awd

  • Comment removed

  • @sdimm youre an idiot, just because you powerslid your bitch ass neon when it rains doesnt mean shit.....that was skillful driving

  • @acuradan623 haha what are u talking about man?

ofc he drives good but not fast...

  • WHATAFUCK...

    who is the driver?

  • @onehunterr Tiff Needell is his name he is a old school F-1 and Le Mans driver.

  • remark:

if Tiff is sliding a car purposely, he would put the back out before he touches the apex of the corner, not after the apex

  • they should make it where u can turn off the beep :)

  • orgasnic :D

  • either tiffy here is provoking oversteer by stomping on the gas mid corner, or the car has very bad mechanical grip. it's like a drifter's car...is toyota trying to recreate the AE86?

  • @isftish

toyota did the AE86 with the FT-86, me think the LFA would be the Supra with Veyron-level of technology

  • I really like the way that engine revs, so damn fast :)

  • Tiff likes to test cars with the traction control off, for fun you nimrods!!!

  • on the other hand, what we all need is a "foot-camera", and a "dashboard-camera", juz like the Japanese did on Best Motoring, and this video is complete

  • VrrrrMMMMMMMM *beep* VrrrrRRRRMMMMMMMM *beep* VrrrrrrrRMMMMM *beep*..... silly Lexus

  • It needs front grip. its too twitchy. & you dont have to slide around turns to go fast

  • @MetalMilitia1811

it slide rounds corners becuz it didn't generate enough grip like a morden F1 car, if you look around footage of old F1(like the "Moss-and-Fangio era", or the Turbo-F1 era), you will see cars simply slides round corners becuz the cars don't have sufficient grip to send it through the corner flat.

  • @volante8657

the driver doesn't deliberately slide the car to show off his skills, it simply becuz the car doesn't not have enough downforce nor sophisticated traction control, one touch of the trottle(which the driver must engage) will make the car goes sideways INSTANTLY. And as I mentioned, sometimes on some cars, going sideways doesn't meant slow--juz ask any rally driver =]

  • @volante8657 I think the car slides around alot because Tiff Needell is purpopsefully over driving the car to show when you go past the limuits of grip the car is still very forgiving.

  • @suprastar2

no, the LFA is particularly "light at the rear" as to most cars, Tiff did race a Turbo F1 so I think he should know when and how to slide a car.

and you should watch those "dog-fight" films of fifth gear(and as I mention before, on-board footage during the Fangio-era), and comparing it to those D1 drifters, from there you will see the difference of "sliding a car purposely" and why Tiff is sliding a car

  • @volante8657 Why would you say its light in the rear when the weight distribution is 52/48 back to front.no I think Tiff Needell is just over driving the grip

  • @suprastar2

i specially quote the word "light" doesn't meant the car is PHYSICALLY light,

wt i meant was, and I THINK, is becuz the anti-roll at the rear was too stiff for the handling of the car, thus making the back tyres unable to withstand the lateral G's generated in a corner, and therefore making the back slide out way too easy then it should have been

  • Comment removed

  • So much g-force it shifted the camera! And those things are stiff!

  • That beep would drive me crazy!

  • @TheCruizer what is that?

  • @St8Solja: I think, this is some kind of a shift indicator.

A simple flashlight would be too easy for the generation playstation. ;)

  • @TheCruizer you can turn it off

  • He botched it at 1:52... He was in the wrong gear.

  • @Rastamut so you can do better

  • @kainj100 ,, I dindnt say I can do better, but at least I know he was in the wrong gear. When you start driving a real car then you know. So I urge you to get off your video games and get off your bicycle.

  • @Rastamut I actually wondered why he changed up and I'm pretty sure it's because he didnt want to crash in to the wall, i basically think he changed up so the car would be in a higher gear and so it would be harder to spin the wheels so the back end doesn't just snap out, it did look pretty ferocious. What do you think man?

  • Wow that sounds good! Except for that annoying little change beep. I don't want my supercar telling me when to shift, I'm fine looking at the tach myself.

  • Instant Hard On! : )

  • eres el puto amo tiff

  • im sure i will beat him on the track!

  • tiff goes everywhere sideways, I wonder if that's why he never won any serious races.

  • It's not too late, you can still order one! rjeanlouis@czag.net

  • For a car like this i'ts all about the driving experience, you can tell by Tiff's statement and the look on his face that this is one of the most enjoyable cars in the world right now, just listen to that intake noise!!

In car, it actually sounds very similar to a 10 cyl version of the McLaren F1!

  • God I love the sound of that thing. For a Lexus I'm pretty impressed. And Tiff is the man behind the wheel. Sure better than the blowbag from the other "gear" show.

  • @PonyPower71 Of course you're talking about Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.... just wanted that to be clear to everyone reading.

  • @TheArfdog Yeah you got it lol. Didn't want to mention any names but the other gear show was a pretty good clue.

  • @PonyPower71 Yeah, I agree. Tiff was once a F1 driver, that's why he is so good.

  • @moom2003 Oh yeah no doubt he is one hell of a driver. You can tell by the way he shifts and handles the wheel. I like how he pushes it to the limit and shows us just what it's made of and lets the car speak for itself.

  • That's how you use a steering wheel!

  • What's with the cheap sounding shift warning beep? I wouldn't want that in a $10k car let alone something of this caliber! :P

  • Some top gear lap times all driven by The Stig (white costume):

Lexus LF-A: 1:22 (Pouring rain and wet track conditions. Dry would have been 1:18.XXX)

    Ferrari 458: 1:19.6 (completely dry)

Ferrari 599 GTB: 1:22 (completely dry)

    Lamborghini Gallardo: 1:25 (Wet)

Out of all these cars, LFA is the only car that was raced the Stig in soaking wet conditions, yet he ran the fastest wet lap time. It was 3 seconds faster than the Gallardo in wet conditions.

  • @SpeedKlz Agreed the LFA on a track is more than a match for anything Porsche Ferrari Lamborghini Aston Martin or any exotic carmaker has to offer.Money as Tiff Needell said who cares the lucky people that can afford these won't give a stuff if they choose to go with this its because its unique and it has the performance to match..To be fair how much fun was Tiff Needell having and he's probably the most revereed of all car testers/car evaluaters so the LFA must be quite good.

  • @SpeedKlz Top Gear test track is nothing..,I'd prefer the Nurburgring lap times as holding more of a real test of all round performance than that of the top gear test track.Thats why I think the LFA has it all over alot of its supposedly superior opposition that costs 1/2 of the LFA's price.

  • @suprastar2 The fastest Nurburgring lap time of LFA according to Chief Engineer is 7:18. That is still A LOT faster than the GT2, ZR-1, LP560 etc. GTR is not even comparable. The Chief engineer has repeatedly answered to journalists with 7:18 as the fastest lap time of LFA.

The price comparisons are absurd since LFA comes fully loaded with every option imaginable right down to Mark Levinson sound system with 14 speakers while all other supercars base price are for a stripped down model.

  • @SpeedKlz I wonder if that is the time for the Nurburgring Edition LFA as I have heard the test driver Akira Lida mentiion that the factory LFA does a 7.23 with a clear track. Also remember the new 911 GT2 RS has also done a 7.18 also officially aswell but as you have mentioned I don't think theres to many others that are close.

  • @suprastar2 That could be possible that it is the Nurburgring edition lap time. The 7:18 claim by the chief engineer has been around for a long time (around 8 - 9 months ago) so I doubt the Nurburgring edition development had begun at that time.

Still, I am not 100% confirmed it was not the Nurburgring edition the chief engieer was saying runs in 7:18. All I know, the journalists asked him about the LFA hot lap time so it SHOULD have been about the standard LFA.

  • @SpeedKlz I would think that 7.18 claimed time would have to be the Nurburgring Edition as that has the updated aero parts and the semi slick street legal rubber so if I were to guess I would hazard to say that it would have to be the Nurburgring Edition that is capable of that time.

  • @SpeedKlz Are you sure 7.18 for the factory LFA I have tried looking everywhere for that time and have tried wikipedia and google for that laptime. The only quote I have come up with for a laptime is from the test driver I mentioned earlier of 7.23.

  • wow edgy awesome v10

  • he is a lit bit to violent with the throttle but it is obvious that he is a good driver

  • BEEP BEEP BEEEP.... Fuck you!

  • Tiff is one of the most unsmooth drivers i've ever seen.

  • @mrshine67 his steering imputs are just like they should be when driving a car in it's limits. He's all the time making adjustments to the steeringwheel and also feeling how the frond end grips to the road, just like you do with a race car with a fast steering. The way his driving looks from inside hansn't got anything to do with the smoothness of the lines of the car.

  • @mrshine67 I think hes just doing it for the camera's

  • I'd palm the wheel while sipping a double-double.

  • I bet that Tiff just looooves that piip sound to sift up.

  • i can do better...

  • What an awesome driver Tiff is. Price of the LFA is still ridiculous. Japanese car companies don't remember their 90's sports cars do they? RX7 and the Supra were pretty affordable and quick.

  • That was a great video. When watching a professional driver you realize that in your wildest boyhood dreams you will never be that great of a driver. I guess video games are the only average mans chance to drive.

  • Lexus claims this car is meant to compete with 599 GTB which is a grand tourer and isn't so good on a track due to soft suspension. But they're not fooling anyone.

They're just trying to hide the fact that Ferrari 458 Italia might be better and half the money.

    *

So far we know, that Ferrari 458 - shifts much faster and smoother

    - is more comfortable

    - has better engne with better power/displacement ratio, more torque and better fuel economy

    - better interior

    - better aerodynamics

    ...

  • ...

    - more advanced differential and traction control

    - it might not have as stiff chassis or handle as well due to higher ride height, but I think the depth of abilities it has clearly outshines that of Lexus.

  • I'll tell you why Lexus is so expensive. They build those huge carbon fiber machines and they're saying they belong to production costs of LFA, when in fact they plan to mass produce carbon fiber in the future. Toyota wants to become the biggest carbon fiber producer in the world, they want to destroy all competition.

Unfortunately, those 500 fools buying this car for 3 times the money it's worth, are unintentionally gonna finance their demonic programme.

  • @sspope "demonic programme"- lol, go see doctor! :)))

  • @sspope

But then let's not forget Ferrari has been making supercars for years and it's Toyota/lexus' first attempt.

  • @sspope You are full of shit!

    - LFA is officially faster around a race track than the Ferrari 599 GTB.

    - Ferrari 458 does NOT have even a remotely comparable interior. The base model comes with absolutely no luxuries stripped.

    - Ferrari 458 is not very comfortable from reviews.

    - LFA has a better power to weight ratio when comparable equipped.

    - Both cars have a 62% rear and 48% front weight distribution. LFA is a front-mid engine car while the 458 is rear-mid engine car. WTF?

  • @SpeedKlz it is not very comfortable from reviews? actually in every review they say it's a pretty comfortable car and please don't start talking about the interior because it's not that the reason why the LFA is much more expensive.

  • Comment removed

  • WOW!! Looks like Mr. Tiff is driving with no TC...

  • Tiff = Stig ??? he has the skill for it :P

  • damn that's a handful, Tiff is very good at what he does!

  • apparently the stig posted a 1:22.4 seconds on the corvette zr1 and 1:22.8 on the lexus lf-a....the lexus's time was done on a wet track while the zr1 on dry..the zr-1 is 6.3 liter supercharge producing 630+ hp and the lexus is 4.7 liter producing 550 horsepower....

  • @powersliding Good points. LFA is a race track car meant to be raced around a race track.

LFA was raced around the track by The Stig when it was completely soaking wet and it ran a 1:22 (about as fast as the 599 GTB with 630 HP).

Since it was pouring rain, Hammond had later revealed The Stig said he could have run the LFA in bone dry condition in around 1:18.xx.

  • @SpeedKlz no, the lf-a is not a track car it is jsut that they raced it before launch.

  • @powersliding The LFA competes in the SP8 class in the Nurburgring and VLN 24-hours endurance races and they are planning on continuing to race. It has been winning the SP8 class and placed #18 out of 300 cars overall in just one year since first race.

SP8 class is the "near stock" class. That means, the engine and transmission system should be to stock specs. If you look at the Gazoo racing LFAs, they both are 560 PS like the stock LFA. The transmission is also the same single-clutch manual.

  • @SpeedKlz yes but it does not mean it was designed to race, it is designed to be a supercar first and foremost

  • @powersliding Remember that you're now comparing a 400k$ to a 90k$ car.

  • @BEEMERFAN79 just responding to those who want to compare a 90k car to a 400k car i guess....its just plain stupid

  • i think its best to avoid corvette fan remarks...must be really daft to compare a piece of art with a piece of crap(corvette) eventhough they both can produce the numbers.

  • if you look through the flares, splitters, air dams and wings....it can be spotted that maybe...this car was going to be the next supra..

  • Tiff loves to have the electronics turned off for the fun factor. I don't see the connection when someone compared this with the Corvette. The LFA out classes and out techs the Corvette hands down. Nice driving Tiff. Would have liked to see how the car handled from the outside more.

  • the lfa is so beautiful (and overpriced) :)

  • Because the chassis is made from carbon fiber, its 4x less flexible & more difficult to find the limit.....according to Tiff.

  • i love this view of tiff racing on the track, i think more cars should be reviewed like this. allows you to see how the car handles

  • Tiff needel is a showman and loves to drift. He does it with every rear wheel drive. He was not running a timed lap. It was merely a show-off lap.

He was doing drifts and power oversteers on purpose (you can see the huge grin on his face from the sides).

  • It didn't look like a clean lap. Tiff was having some issues keeping the LFA on the track (or, rather, the tarmac at Rockingham is that tough to manage with any car setup). Plus, those beeps! That would annoy me if I had to listen to those on the road.

  • a 100K ZR1 would SMOKE 400K LFA

  • @youlance29 The 100K ZR1 is also made with shitty plastic, has a shitty interior, is not nearly as exclusive, has leaf springs in the back, is over powered etc.

  • @youlance29 a ZR1 is about as advanced as a cattle grid.

  • @youlance29 Sorry, but no.

  • @youlance29 You are a fking dumba** fanboi if you think the ZR1 can keep up with the LFA AROUND A RACE TRACK!

The LFA has run a fastest lap time that is 10 seconds faster than the ZR1 around nurburgring. It is not even a race. If you want proof, look at the C6-R ZR1 getting demolished in the Nurburging 24-hours endurances race in the SP8 class. LF-A has been winning endurance races and the C6-R is eating sht!

  • @SpeedKlz Prove it.

  • too much oversteer to be a hot lap.. i think..

  • 5th Gear is back better than ever.

  • Supra Turbo looked better and cost 1/8th the price of this car.

There is no prestige at the club or the bar saying that you own a $400,000 Toyota, I mean Lexus...

  • @venom5809 but i bet if they give you one u'll be bragging about it.

people always said: 400k for a LEXUS??? think about it.. people who can afford this kind of price aren't thinking about the price --

  • @johnyeros Well ask the 500 (most of which are Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche owners) who have made the LFA all sold-out. The demand was far higher than the supply so those millionaires/billionaires have the answer.

They will be able to answer that.

  • great video, not sure about the car though

  • I'm sure its because he was driving it hard but the car seemed as skittish and a Viper on slicks on sandy asphalt.

  • where is the helmet, tiff? ;)

  • Nice drifting, Tiff! ;)

  • holy sht that engine sounds like it revs so fast..

  • @skyfaze Because it does :) Goes up to 10k RPM.
