Just means I gotta listen really hard

  • jeez some people look like dorks wtf lol change your style man its not 1982

  • I'm playing on getting this, I was wondering if you can use an external amp with that DJ console.

  • you talk too much ..

  • I'm new with the rmx and dj'ing. How do i pre-listen to either deck through the headphones? Thanks.

  • can i use this controller with a crack version of virtual dj? i have a crack virtual dj 6

  • i just ordered it!(: ahaa i hope its all good and you can get a fisheye lens at opteka.com mateee(:

  • what is the name of that dj?

  • I have one of these babies on the way. SOOOOO EXCITED

  • can you use Traktor pro with this console?

  • stupid noob question, do you need speakers other than the speakers in your laptop??

  • @elsunn If you're just practicing you'll be fine with your laptop speakers, but if you plan on playing any sort of gig, you will need a set of speakers. Laptop speakers aren't powerful enough to push the kind of sound you're talking about. Even a set of mid-range computer speakers will do for small house parties; the last time i did a house party though, i had two 15's and a single 12 sub. Kept the volume down quite low obviously ;)

  • ..Flan-ger?

  • @Dubunto I probably mis-pronounced it, but then again i've heard it said many different ways

  • dj virtual pro

  • HI

    I HAVE THE RMX HERCULES

& IHAVE THE DJ VIRTUAL PRO I DOES WORKS WELL

BUT ABOUT 2 HOURS THE AUDIO FROM ONE DECK IT WILL DIE

    I WILL SELL,,,,

i will sell the dj pro for 4 dollrs a copy : )

  • is the Hercules Console RMX better than the Control Steel?

or in other words: Console RMX or Control Steel?

  • Ive decided to start djin and have literally just bought this equipment today! Ive installed everything, but when i start to mix music, there is no sound! Am i missing a cable? any suggestions!!

  • Hey can u ppl help me out?

    Whats more worth it to get?;

Hercules Dj Console RMX OR iCD DJ in a box?

    please help!?

  • @SSM3ddY13ST where can u get icd dj in a box?

    and what company is it

  • would this be good for a beginner?

  • @AcEMizZy1

Absolutely; it's good for a beginner all the way up to intermediate DJ. Eventually you will hit a point where it becomes a limiting factor, but that also depends on your DJ'ing style. since i'm a mobile and club DJ, i haven't hit that limit yet. If you're a scratch DJ, i would look at other controllers out there

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • @PGHDJStatic thinking about getting that one...been out for a couple of time now, think they're gonna update it soon? don't wanna buy it now and being replaced just after lol

you think it's perfect for playing Justice/Deadmaus music style?

  • so whats the verdict m8 with desktop computers? will we never be to play it through the pc without it cutting out cue channels for the headphones?

  • @joeinferno23

So far i haven't been able to figure out the issue, as i've never had to use it on a desktop PC after this review.

It has been trouble free for the two years i've been using it so far, and the built in soundcard is actually pretty high quality.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • will all pc desktop users have this problem then when trying to play the music through the pc. e.g no cue-in use with the headphones?

  • can this be hooked up to the ots virtual dj pro aswell?

  • this works whit windows 7 64 bit?

  • Nice review on this RMX. I'm thinking about getting one for my studio.Check out my videos and subscribe to my page. thanks

  • you can hear both channels *similtanously* if you wish thru ur headphones......

  • hey i have a few questions:

Can you prelisten deck A or B through your headphones?

Can you use virtual dj pro?

Is there a sync button (beatmatch)

    thx!

  • @TheCampStars

    Whew, long delay here.

Yup, you can pre-listen through either deck.

Yes, that's what i use it with.

That there is, as well as a beatlock button to keep the pitch the same

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • THank you...good and informative

  • Can you only hear 1 song at a time in your headphones?

  • @PilotSV

Yes sir, the RMX doesn't have the multi-track preview capabilities some other midi controllers might have. Though as a DJ, i personally don't see a reason to have more than one preview pipe, unless you want to do some crazy mashups live.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • @PilotSV you can hear both tracks if you like, there are cue select buttons next to either deck, and use traktor instead

  • Hi There!

May I know actually how can I connect my PC or laptop to the Console?

Can I use USB ? Or do I need to have special sound card?

    Thank you!

  • @2606608

It's a USB cable from the RMX to the computer, no special connections needed. Now if you want to get sound out of the RMX, you'll need some RCA cables, but just about every DJ has those in their gear bag ;)

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • whats better omni control or this one? the hercules

  • I haven't been able to test the Omni Control, so i can't really give a good recommendation on which one is better.

Just my policy: no verdict until i've reviewed it ;)

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • fish eye lens would be nice...

    whats better in ur opinion,

the numark omni control, or the hercules?

  • 1, is the version of vdj it comes with only a trail version?

2, does it work with traktor?

3, is there a different console you would reccommend insted?

  • 1. It's a Limited Edition, so it does have some of the features of VDJ full, but not all of them

    2. Yes it does; it's a bit tricky to setup, but it can be done.

    3. Depends on what you're doing really; i've heard good things about Vestax, but as it is now i'm moving more towards Serato instead of VDJ.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • Can you preview your samples before you send it out to your main speakers with this unit. I know that you can preview each deck but sometimes I like to use samples. Thanks

  • @mwilliams6666

The only way to preview a sample would be to load it onto one of the decks and listen to it that way. Sadly there isn't any preview feature for samples, at least not to my knowledge.

  • would you by any chance be giving your hercules dj console mk2 away

  • if so i am interested

  • Really, ppl, do not buy the hercules controller, but buy the Reloop digital jockey2, and if you can, buy the interface edition, with touch sensitive jog's and a soundcard.

here you get a waaay better controller with more functions AND a waay better software, traktor LE, that isn't as stripped down as virtual dj and can be cheaply upgraded (then you have got like more than 20 fx,...)

    it even costs the same

A lot of pro dj's (even richie hawtin and carl coxx) use traktor, none use virtual dj!

  • srry, forget to say, still good review of the RMX, and sorry if i'm sounding like the Rmx is bad, I just think the reloop is a better buy, and you should think about it too

  • Nice opinion. Ive never seen anyone use Traktor in my venue. Most use serato, a couple use VDJ... twice Ive seen people use deckadance. Probably 100 people and not once have I seen traktor. hercules is fine for people that dont scratch and useable / better than many for people who do.

  • well, here traktor and serato are for sure the leading software, and i dont get why vdj is that popular, the normal layout is horrible, unless you use one of those graffically heavier skins, that makes you crash more often, vdj crashed me twice, in the 30 day demo, and traktor is stable as can be (now I own full) and, the timecode isnt nearly as good either, however, the rmx maybe isnt that 'bad' as i said, but if you want to spend 300€, just look first at some other controllers

  • I have a Hercules RMX myself. It's the most consistent and reliable with VDJ (Sadly because I prefer Deckadance.) I will admit traktor seems pretty stable. I find the autogrid / beatmatchin isn't quite as good as VDJ. Overall I just love the layout and features of deckadance though. VST chaining it from a DAW is awesome. Especially if you have something like ableton plus a novation launchpad. WOOO.. THATS fun. I forgot I saw one DJ using TORQ once as well.

  • Major delay on my part ;)

To each their own i suppose; mind you this review was done almost a year ago, so my skills and tastes have changed since then.

Having used Serato now, it's hard to go back to the RMX; don't get me wrong i can still use it, but it's not as intuitive as it was when i made this review.

Though i will check out reloop eventually; i really wish companies would let me test some of their products without having to buy them lol.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • can you adjust the parameters of the effects from the controller, such as flanger?

  • While there are controllers out there with that sort of capability, out of the box the RMX does not have anything mapped to do that.

There are programs available, but they only remap the 6 buttons on each deck; you could map it using midi mappings, but that didn't work too well the one time i tried it.

Best thing to do is have another controller to do that, and just use this as a mixing console.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • I use deckadance which has a grid and I sync the x and y to my kaoss pad. its pretty awesome :) kind of overkill just to have a touchpad though but i got a good deal on it

  • I'm getting the mp3 lol. Is it waay worse than the RMX?

  • That's the controller i started with, and it's long gone if that's any indication :p

It's actually not that bad of a controller, but there's no sound card attached to it and it still has the limited version of VDJ with it, which has to be the first thing you chuck.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • Yeah, I agree. That's why I'm probably getting the hercules steel (non-soundcard version of this) tomorrow and using it with my high quality soundcard.

  • Btw, use asio4all it'll solve your soundcard problem

  • Thanks for the tip; i'll have to give that a go.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • im ready to sell my Hercules MK2 and get a RMX :)

  • You'll be glad you did my friend; i tested an Mk2 a few weeks ago and by comparison the RMX takes it to the cleaners.

Better sound quality out, better control wheels, better button feel, it's just better all round (at least if you ask me)

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • great presentation.... could u tell how you programmed the effects buttons on the rmx? just purchased one a week ago. I'll appreciate any help.

  • Without having the Omni Control to review, i can't give a definitive yes or no.

It's just my policy; if i haven't reviewed a product or used it myself, i don't give any opinions on it.

Sadly money is tight, so i don't think i'll be able to review it anytime soon, unless Numark sees my channel and is willing to let me have a go with it.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • hey I was looking into getting it but I would like to know if its reliable enough has it ever frozen up on you or something would you rely on it for the clubs or weddings? please respond

  • Every computer program has it's faults. I've only had VDJ freeze up on me once at a mobile gig, but i have CD player's as a backup just in case.

You always need to have a second music source, even if it's just an iPod; PC's are too finicky to really work solo.

Even if i had a Mac i would still have a backup, just for the sake of having one for that dire moment that will inevitably hit.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • Did you figure out yet, that part with the headphones?, (That you can listen forward)

  • Not with the way i was setup here; i eventually ended up using an external mixer, so that's how i do the setup now.

Run RCA cables from the two outputs to my chosen channels on my mixer, then the crossfader is disabled completely and i only use my mixer's faders.

    Hopefully that clears things up.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • You get any loops or sumtin with the program?:D Is it good for beginners?

  • Sorry it took so long to get back to you, bit busy ;).

You get loops with your copy of VDJ, and there's plenty more available once you register the program.

There's also lots of effects available as well from the site.

    Practice and N'Joy!

  • nice....

  • Nice Review!
