By 86-87 Ratt had the best couple of guitarrists in the Glam Rock scene, that was one of the reasons they were so respected, Motley crue, Twisted sister or Quiet riot were no competition for them in that matter, only Wasp had another killer couple of guitarrists (a band that I prefer instead of Motley) Ratt always had a very polished and clean riff sound, that´s what makes their songs so good and special.
@MikDonsen im assuming yr 13? it seems like a parody cause all the others copied RATT , mate these times aint coming back n theres plenty of copycats . It was a great time girls , alcohol , optimism, These days ahhhhh , no one has a positive outlook.
juan croucier what a douche bag to say he was the demise of ratt, the guy contracted aids or hiv ,what a douche like show some respect, what a douche bag ,i mean i dont know why he could say that stuff, maybe robin was a jerk off in life but if he wasnt than that was a really mean thing to say about someone who was dying from a life threatening disease
Amazing they didn't say anything about Marq Torien being in the band from summer 1982 to spring of 1983. I asked Robin about why they got rid of Marq, and it had to do something with they didn't need and EVH clone.
@mrosenk What killed the scene was too many bands looking the same and crappy songs. Amazing how Pantera managed to weather the grunge storm during the 90s. I won't include Metallica, because they sold their souls, and were no where as extreme as Pantera.
@rip2shred Haha, well kind of, I mean it is true that too many bands went for the same thing, but smells like teen spirit helped usher in a new trend in music and really mainstream culture for sure...Pantera was just awesome, I luckily got to see them when I was 16 not too many people my age got the opportunity to see them!
@Gearstothewall513 I think what he meant was that panteras first album of any kind was in the early 80's, but the band dismissed it as well as the three that came after it. They didn't sound like the thrash groove metal they would be assoicated with.
@TurboInfidel There are some current bands that are very good though......... incubus, tool, three days grace, puddle of mud......but your point is not missed!

Is it just me, or is the guy who had the least amount of talent in that band - I mean getting his ass carried for that time - the weirdest looking guy? Come on, Pearcy couldn't shout his way out of a brown paper bag, let alone really live up to the quality of a DeMartini/Croucier/Crosby song. And he looks like a fucking weirdo. Even Blotzer (who might know what town he's in on a good day) doesn't look that bad, Pearcy - it was a great run. It's over. You're creepy now.

@osp80 , pffffffft not metal. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, ANthrax, Exodus, Sabbath, Motorhead, Nuclear Assualt, Iron Maiden, Angel Witch, Venom, Deat Angel, Testament....That's Metal! Crue, Poison, Ratt, not Metal- Rock, still good songs, but still not metal. and KISS in a league of thier own, you can't touch 'em.
Ratt was my favorite band for a while in the 80s. Out of the cellar was my favorite album. My friends always made fun of me because I was always listening to it. The next records had fewer good songs and sounded more commercial to me. I think Warren is an excellent guitarist.
@shaggy160, forget what your friends say. Out of the Cellar is the first and last melodic groove metal album. Also, their EP is a groundbreaking HEAVY metal classic.
I like all of their albums (minus Collage and '99 LP).
This is so half assed! They left out that Jake E Lee used too be the lead guitarist and that Warren Martini was living with him at the time. When Jake left too join Ozzy thats when Warren Joined Ratt. I guess Jake put in a good word for Warren.
Im 42. This was my favorite band growing up. I always caught shit for liking them cause they went hard enough, or they were to pretty or some shit. The truth is that they were always a great musical band with a great front man and GREAT songs. Im only a minute into this, but im soooo glad to see there finally going (or reather did) get the regognition they deserve. Im going to see them twice in the next week, once alone, once w/ the Scorpians. Cant wait!!!
@JosephKuby Thats cool. Glad you think that. I was taking about what my friends thought though, not myself. I always just loved RATT and really dident catagorize them as hard or whatever. But hey, if you think there heavy, thats cool. I always thought of them more as a fun party kinda band that had really good songs and alot of good looking woman at the shows. Thats pretty much how I sum up RATT, party and woman :) But hard, not really. Atleast not in my mind.
ratt = scat... shit band... these hacks are irrelevant now.

@timewarped2the80s, Warren wasn't happy with this documentary. He said too much stuff was left out. His original interview was MUUUCH longer.

@sralmy, I think their EP was hard enough to be considered heavier than Pantera's first album - Metal Magic.

Atleast not in my mind.
peace
