  • words cannot capture the awesomeness of this performance

  • A few months ago my friend went missing. I sat around at the computer, facebook/news website, etc.etc., waiting for news of his return home. 3 days went by and no clue of where he was. I kept listening to this song over and over again, this version here, wondering where he was. I kept thinking Im gonna ask him where hes been, and laugh about listening to this song so much later. They found his body a week later. He was murdered. Now I cant listen to this song without thinking of my friend. RIP

  • Sorry about the multiple comments. Love this video

  • AMAZING. I doubt I'll ever see another video where the lead singer brings that much passion and intensity.

  • He puts a lot of passion in each song but we'll never see this song ever played to this level again. This video is freaking ridiculous

  • Always makes me cry when he sings it live. I've never seen so much emotion..

  • This song was amazing live. I saw them in Austin October 9th. That show was the most emotion I'd felt for quite some time, and it hasn't been topped yet. He added the "don't kill yourself to raise the dead, you'll only end up joining them" scream a few times at the end. That part was one of the main reasons I listen to MO frequently now.

  • This shit made me cry.

    Such a great band.

  • They are a fucking phenomonal band.

  • Man I love this band.

  • Not really calling him out, more of a rhetorical phrase.

  • Its honestly cary how bad the quality is for the audio to be so amazing

  • Andy looked so different!

  • wow i got mad chills right now

  • in the end...is he calling out God?

  • @GB4ManU7fan yepp, he does !

  • Daytrotter session version is WAY better

  • wow andy looks skinny back then haha

  • i saw this song live a few years back and it made me fall in love.

  • Essa música é linda d+ não conhecia a banda até um dia assistindo à Gossip Girl e ouvi essa música e fiquei louca atrás dessa música, e me apaixonei pela banda

    =)

    thanks

  • They are beautiful.

  • Gutting, absolutely...

  • This still makes me get all shaky.

    Excellent!

  • ;w;

  • I stumbled upon this by chance. I was there, fell in love instantly.

  • I can see why they went on tour with Mewithout you. The end of this really reminded me of them a lot.

  • hollyyy shit

  • wow !!! the end!!!! cant believe it... so deep

  • this sounds a lot like Modest Mouse!!! Goood thing!

  • really?

    huh.

  • i love how andy changes up the lyrics at the end.

    "Child,where have you been?"

"Father son and ghost, where have you been?

"God,my god, where have you been?"

i read on a forum that the changing of lyrics is supposed to symbolize the struggle of man continuing their search for faith,

And the child part is God trying to find his own way to reach out to man kind.

  • i was here. amazing

  • I wish I could scream my lungs out with him at the end.

  • Wow, they are profound.

  • i love andy hull with all of my being.

    seriously.

i'm seeing them tomorrow night in portland and it will be glorious. each time it is a treat.

    fourth time. bam!

  • this song is somethin else....sends chills up my spine

  • THERE. i was literally leaning on these three annoying girls in the front row the whole time...

    amazing show.

  • holy shit, wow.

the ending, when he says "god, where have you been?" blew me away. i always LOVED that part but seeing it live is so much more emotional. i looooooove manchester orchestra, wooh!

  • they are so awesome. :D

  • gosh i love how he really gets into it at the end, much more intense than the album version!

  • I grew up with these guys, hah hah. Andy Hull and Chris Freeman are still friends of mine. I have albums from them back when they were 17 and called "East on Autry." Everybody here in Atlanta are going a long way -- It's nice to see .

  • What the fuck? I'm a well-respected Atlanta staff music journalist for SIR (Southeast Indy Report) Magazine. These motherfuckers have been my friends since 16 years of age. Don't fucking insult me, jackass. Also, try punctuating correctly if you're doing to insult someone. You might as well be calling someone "dumb" and spelling it wrong. Christ! Don't be jealous.

    -William

  • lol.

I don't think he was insulting you about being friends with them.

or trying to prove you wrong about anything.

And it's common to not use correct punctuation in non-formal text on the internet.

    =/

    calm down man.

  • i like William, and i love Andy Hull :D

    -Depwarza

  • You have got to be kidding me. No one CARES that you know them. They are not like god's or something. Nobody wants to hear you flaunt your "friendships" just because YOU are jealous you're not making music like this.

  • I care, its pretty cool you know a band alot of us like...,

  • They're gonna be at the city limits festival (is that what they call it) in Austin on the 14th though! Maybe you can make it there?

  • they're playing friday afternoon and i have class. and no money.. so unfortunately i can't make it. no way i can afford to spend $80 and miss classes ;[

  • Dang, that sucks! I'm sorry! They'll definitely be back for more touring though. They're about to blow up! Lol.

  • @ohgirlfriend They will be in austin May 28th with Cage the Elephant... Tickets are already sold out and have been for a minute... :(

  • I live in Austin too. Any idea when they are coming here? I can't wait to see them!
