  • Every state one goes look so different.

  • my hometown.

  • I remember this highway before they redid it. It was falling to pieces! They did a great job with it. Wished my productions looked as good as yours!

  • The soundtrack is like a old game :) Nice vid in general.

  • Man, this was just a fantastic production, from start to finish and thanks again for great quality!!

  • @CAMINOANDALUZ Sure Josan! Thanks.

  • Peoria looks like a really nice city. Looks to be very tourist friendly.

  • Nice work on this one, Luke. Love the graphics.

  • @Bryant5493 Thanks Bryant!

  • @eluko79

    You're welcome!

  • Great video, I love the Google Earth intro. I look forward to more vids and am subscribing!

  • @cochrab Thank you sir!

  • EXCELLENT! I especially like the way the road signs appear in the video; what software did you use for that? It's a great touch!

  • @ChrisK529 Thanks. I use windows paint with the highway gothic font to draw the signs, and sony vegas to edit the videos.

  • I drove that stretch right after the massive reconstruction ended, it is a nice piece of Interstate.

  • Argh, people sticking on the left lane, move over to the right!

  • Great video! I think Peoria is a nice city!

  • What camera and mount did you use?

  • @TheDeen114 A flip ultra hd with a panavise suction cup windshield mount with extension arm.

  • @eluko79 Thanks for the info. I am waiting for the panavise suction cup to arrive to use it with my Sony DSC W290. My camera is heavier than yours but hopefully the video is not shaky. Your videos are very stable even on concrete roads. Good work!

  • @eluko79 Is your flip 3rd gen or 2nd gen. I am debating whether to get the 3rd gen 2 hr version which has electronic image stablization.

  • @TheDeen114 I have both. The anti-shake on the 3rd gen can make time lapses look twitchy sometimes but the improved color balance is what makes it a better camera.

  • @eluko79 The colors looking nice and sharp. Did upload as is or used any software for color correction ?

  • @TheDeen114 Nope. Its as is.

  • I miss my old eight bit NES :)

  • That is such a nice nintendo-like song! And that is a nice freeway, too. Anyway, I filmed St. Louis just this past friday, and I have some Tennessee videos to work on, too before I get to the STL videos. Did you go up the Arch while you went to STL? If not, I did and I filmed at the top.

  • @FreewayAndrew Cool. I was there on Thursday. Wasn't able to go to the top but it'd be awesome to see it.

  • it sounds like a nintendo game song that freaking awesome

  • Yay! I go to Peoria a couple times a year. Gotta eat at Avanti's and at Steak & Shake while I'm there. Got my protective cover for my phone in Peoria, and my future father-in-law is a retired engineer for Caterpillar

  • @brojoghost Hey brojo thanks for watching! That steak & shake did look tempting.

  • the old I-74 in Peoria made me want the Highway 40 in St. Louis (pre rebuild Highway 40) back so bad. I made couple trips on the old version of 74 back in the late 90s when my high school went to basketball state tourney two years in a row.

  • That was a great video. Loved the way you did the Google Maps "fly in" and the signs.

BTW, Peoria is the hometown of singer Dan Fogelberg and comic Richard Pryor.

    l

There's even a Dan Fogelberg Memorial, an "honorary" Fogelberg Parkway, and one of the streets is named for Richard Pryor (IIRC).

  • @georgiaroadgeek Oh wow I forgot about Richard Pryor being from here. I loved watching his movies back in the day.

  • This was really nice to see again! I only live about 120 miles from here. Just don't get over to Peoria that often any more. IL Dot really did a nice job on redoing I 74 right thru the city!! Looks like it would be lot's easier to get thru there now! Last time I was around Peoria, I used the I 474 bypass both east and westbound. Thanks for posting! 2 thumbs up! Gread video! Mark in Iowa.

  • @hawkeye52353 Thanks Mark!

  • awesome video, that is a very nice frwy.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Thanks its one of the best ive seen.

  • Excellent video, the rebuild looks great, I was always curious about this road, thanks for the ride!

  • @Freewayjim Sure thing! Thanks Jim.

  • Wow, I would have never guessed how nice of a freeway this is. It looks more modern than some of Chicago's interstates. They did a great job at reconstructing this. Nice to see you back with a new video!

  • @FreewayBrent Thanks Brent. I got plenty more on the way. I-229 in St. Joseph is another hidden jem, although its a bit older.

  • Nice work. Did you film this on a Sunday? Otherwise, I'd have to say that the 55MPH limit is under posted. Thanx for the ride.

  • @necroslair Thanks. I'd have to agree. With modern cars and an interstate like this, the default 55 is to low. It was around 4pm on a Wednesday.

  • Awesome! I went to Peoria a few years ago for a college event.

  • Nice video from a nice city! Where all did you go in this trip?

  • @FreewayTitan I did a 5 day loop through the midwest starting in Chicago, then STL, KC, St. Joseph, Omaha, and Des Moines. I got about 20 videos, maybe 15 to work with.

  • @eluko79: Please tell me that you recorded the newly reconstructed I-64/US 40 through St. Louis?? I've been waiting for *anybody* to record that stretch. Hoping you were able to get in US 71 through the southern half of KC, too.

  • @FreewayBrent Oh yeah, I got em' both.

  • @FreewayBrent there is at least two videos of Highway 40 pre rebuild up on youtube if you search.

  • @eluko79 I did St. Louis, too, just last Friday!

  • @McBearPEI Someone actually put it in a game. I left a link to it in the description.;)

  • awesome vid, luke What were you doin' out there? :--D

  • @OnThatPowder Thanks. I had a week off from work so I thought I'd visit Missouri.

  • Nice video! That crazy white 4x4 driver from 0:55 to 1:29 when you pass him was ALL over the road - it was as if he couldn't keep within his lines!

  • @svartmetall48 It looked like he was taking turns tailgating people lol. Thanks.

  • It was a funny music and nice intro, man :)

  • @AndreyPurtov Thanks!

  • Nice video! This highway is certainly much more interesting than what I would've had guess from Peoria. Haven't seen a video from rural Illinois (i.e. outside Chicago) before.

  • @aswchris Thanks Chris. The highways in Illinois can be hell sometimes so this was definitely refreshing to see.
