i liked restless and wild, balls to the wall and metalheart. but some of their older and newer stuff is good. their live stuff is very kickass, i saw them on metal heart loved it. but these three albums are their golden era. lets plug a bomb in everyones ass.
This is very serious heavy metal; UDO had the voice. Scorpions, to comment on the other member's view, is hard rock, should not be compared, really; both are classic to what their respective genres.
I think this and Restless and Wild are the best songs on the record. German Heavy Metal was always great. Even though I listen to Brutal Death Metal above all else, I still love the classic Metal bands like Priest, Maiden, Accept and Scorpions. UFO was great too with Micheal Schenker.
@afoolisharrangement I like the original and I love Cannibal Corpse's cover. How can anyone hate the cover? It was done with love and respect to a band that influenced them. That's what a cover is all about.
The "Restless and Wild" album is Accept´s masterpiece! but "Balls to the Wall" is their best song and "Starlight" from "Breaker" is the second best in my opinion :-)
I'm trying to think of an early 80's metal album that is better than this one...and can't...you'd have to go with Met/Meg/Sla/Ant to compete - Maiden, Priest, Dio, Sab, etc....didn't match this album...
Not just the best Accept album, a real metal masteriece full stop and this track typifies the class on the album! Blows most around now out of sight, Rammstein and Priest apart IMO. Indeed saw Accept support Priest, what a gig! Problem is, anyone else think they ran out of steam after this? Although Breaker before this was a great album, Balls to the wall didn't inspire me much then, Udo leaving and the next album with the new singer, XTC apart, seemed average.
Szaam as a huge fan of accept I give you props for honesty cannibal are just so intense every time those guys step into the studio watch out,but thats what they aim for, Accept came from a different era when metal was partying and lusted after women,in a time of cockrock like ratt and winger, that shot for chicks and blowjobs which is fine they still had there aim on being metal and if a woman could handle it even better.
@dubya68 Hey its now how fast you can shred. I like both of those bands, but the quality of music you can't even compare. Loomis couldnt compose princess of the dawn solo if his life depended on it!
Dub - can't find even 1 CC/Nevermore album that can touch Restless and Wild - to each his own --- notice who is playing who's songs...love the CC drummer....
This is fuckin metal!!!!!!!!!my opinion of making you want to bang your head or drive too fast or fight it makes your blood pressure shoot through the roof my favorite since 15 and i'm 38 now and it still makes me want rage!
Yep gravelandart these guys are not joking around they play really hard and heavy stuff and they are doing this soo good every other band sounds shitty compared to them hats down Accept is probably one of the best heavy metal bands ever
This is the best metal album of all time. I have about 5ooo metal/hard rock/hardcore/etc records. I'm telling you----this is the best. it's up there with Back in Black....bette than anything from Metallica, Priest, etc......simply superb.
Scorpions has recorded some classic material (mostly the early stuff), but Accept has just always been my German classic metal band of choice, that's all. Just preference. There are a lot of terrific german heavy metal groups ... but Accept will always be my numero uno.
Speaking of, the new Accept CD, Blood of the Nations, kicks ass, as does the new U.D.O., Rev-Raptor.
Well, I classify Scorpions as a heavy metal group (certainly the classic '70s material; perhaps not, like, Lonesome Crow, or whatever it's called, though). True, much of what came after (post Love At First Sting) can be called hard rock, but ... yeah.
Scorpions is one of metal's founding fathers of the style. It was recording metal when there wasn't much available of the form. Sabbath, Priest, Rush (prog metal pioneers), AC/DC, etc., ya know?
Well, I certainly do not agree with your suggestion that Scorpions is not heavy metal. The latter material definitely took on a more pop sheen, sure, but the early-to-mid years stuff was as metal as is Accept's music. Regardless, I am a HUGE fan of Accept (saw the band open for KISS on its Balls to the Wall tour here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada).
I am not gonna debate with you. I hear what I hear.
I remember one of my friends turning me on to Accept in 85 but I turned his ass on to Trouble's initial release now titled Psalm 9.He was blown away...Hell, I still haven't got that sheeat back.....
forgot how good Restless and Wild is...Wolf Hoffmann lays down the cuts, great drumming and bass playing, awesome metal vocals by UDO...easily one of the best albums of the golden age of heavy metal.

Music reminds me Mercyful Fate, just imagine King's vocals ..The guitar work here is similar to Sherman/Denner, great song though.

Yeah, because Pat O'brien sucks i guess. Pfft Nevermore/Cannibal Corpse blow away Accept guitar-wise.

And it lives on as U.D.O.
