  • Felicidades! Grandísima interpretación!

  • Fran Jeffries' performance and voice was perfect in the movie, and one of my favorite. However, your instrumental is simply wonderful; you even provided the accents perfectly! Thank you.

  • @jsbach15

    thanks!

  • Very nicely done indeed! Smooth, smooth, very smoo-oo-ooth. Thanks for posting this, it is exactly what makes YouTube so enjoyable.

  • Omg I loved it...Do you have any tabs or a guideline anyway?

  • I wish you would turn toward the camera so we can see your chord forms more clearly, other than that I love the arrangement.

  • Great playing. I like the way you started in a slow, classical style, then made it faster and more forceful. Almost like jazz somewhere in there. And like you, I liked Fran in the movie. Wished she had done more things.

  • what kind of mic is that and how much does it cost?

  • Excellent arrangement. Spot on. Fran Jeffries is terrific in that scene.

Can't quite figure out the complaint in regards to her "Italian"...her character is not Italian. It's like complaining that she didn't deliver her English lines with a perfect English accent.

  • @str4ngebiscuit

    I quite agree. Thanks.

  • Beautiful job guy... my respects. I love that song, but I don't think Fran did such a great job at it in the movie... there are other much better versions (like yours).

  • @bollorr

Ahh, cmon, Fran is the bomb! Thanks, anyhow.

  • @troubleclef I know it's a classic and people love her performance... but I believe that's mostly because it's a classic, and the film had such great actors in it. Fran is 73 living in San Jose, about 5 hours from me. She didn't do that great in her career, probably to prove my point.

  • @troubleclef My wife also hates her performance, not to mention her "Italian" destroys half of the song... I have very sensitive ears. I believe this performance to be better, wwwDOTmontescagliosoDOTnet/node/9807

  • @bollorr

yeah, her Italian definitely leaves something to be considered. Her character isn't terribly well developed in the script. she's supposed to be Turkish or something, so there is an excuse, I guess. But she's SO easy on the eyes. And it's just a shame her version didn't make it onto the soundtrack. The soundtrack version is really lame with that male choir singing those English lyrics. yuck. that's pretty awful.

If not, still a beautiful job!

  • thanks. pay close attention to the early part in this clip where i play the whole thing but slowly. you should be able to pick it up by ear.

  • if you knew classical guitar you would answer that simple question..

  • Its not Laurindo Almeida. The musician is Waltel Branco.

Thanks for playing it so clearly too so that I can learn by playing along :)

  • Como siempre: Muy Bueno

¿para cuando un tema de TARREGA ?

    Saludos desde Andalucia

  • thanks. I haven't played any Tarrega in quite a while. Maybe I'll look back into his pieces some time. cheers.

  • Sei sempre grande...

    Marcello

  • I love your style.

  • Beautiful, amazing job, as always- especially enjoyed this since I am a Mancini nut and the Fran Jeffries scene is also one of my all-time favorite film moments.

  • thanks. yeah, it's an ultra-classic.

  • when you talk about the pink panther do you mean the old ones or the new ones?

  • the original, the classic Blake Edwards film. See video details. I've never seen the newer film with Steve Martin, but I doubt there's much of Henry Mancini's score in it other than possibly the main title theme.

  • old, 1st one with peter sellers & david niven

  • where did you learn portuguese?

  • Excellent! 10*

    Gretsch'n

  • I went and downloaded The Pink Panther right away! I've never seen it.

Great piece of music! And fabulous playing of course.

    Happy new year!

Lynn From A Very Cauld -4 Scotland.

  • thanks, Lynn. Rent and Watch 'the Pink Panther'. It will make you feel warm and toasty. Of course a little single malt might help as well. :D

  • Wonderful -everything- Tony (you must get tired of reading this as well). And as some guitarists have already pointed bellow it is a beautiful inspired work, where do you keep your muses?

  • On the bed, on the floor, on a towel by the door, in the tub, in the car, up against the mini-bar.

Thanks, Buddy. Happy New Year. Keep on pluckin.

  • Great as always! Happy new year!

  • Have a wonderful 2009 and thanks for all those little gems like this one you gave us in 2008,

    Pascal

  • Very good Tony,a beautiful inspired arrangement, keeping that bass steady going in the beat against the syncopated melody,I liked this one very much,a very happy year and I'm sure we will be inspiring each other as always, Vic.

  • Hi Vic. Thanks. I hope you'll check out the other video I just posted. Django's "improvisation #2". cheers.

  • Very inspired arrangement, and playing is great

    Best wishes

    Patrice

  • thanks, Patrice. Happy New Year!

  • Hi Toni,

what shall I say, you nearly play all my favorite tunes. These are the songs I can hear over and over again. Your playing and arragement is pefect as always.

I'm looking foreward to your wonderful music in 2009.

All the best and a Happy New Year,

    Bernd

  • yeah, this is a favorite of mine too. thanks, Man. Happy New Year.

  • fantastic thank you for sharing

  • thank you for watching

  • Again a very good piece of music for your exellent repertory. Thank You for this music.

  • Wow. Beautiful tune! 5 ***** :)

  • Nice tune, you play amazing. You have nothing written, did you played it from ear. It must be difficult to learn such pieces from ear.

  • Yes, it learned it by ear. But I must have heard the song about 5,000 times or more in my life, so it wasn't too hard.

  • 5000 times! Oh! It is much! But the result is good!

  • Another great one. This past year has been a lot of good music, and a lot of education in music for myself. I wish you a great year coming up, and look forward to more good music , and more music education for me. Thanks for all. John

  • Nice jobe, Tony. I like Henry Mancini's music, so this was a nice treat.

  • thank you, Mr. Resident.

  • "I have nothing written down. (I know you get tired of reading that)".

You'd think so, but since a large number of commenters never seem to grasp this fact and ask for tabs anyway, I sure can't blame you for continuing to mention it. Great playing as always.

  • Amazing!

  • Amazing m8

    Great work. 5/5

    Cheers!

  • Tony, How much I like when you post these rarities! It sounds fantastic, and I also love the clumsiness and the absurd humor of Inspector Clouseau (especially the ludicrous fights of martial arts with Cato). Nothing to mention about Mancini: he was from another planet... Have a fantastic new year!

  • Thanks Jesus. You too, man

  • great job again man!

  • Amazing as always. You definitely have your own sound.

  • Yeah! First view and comment
