i think that the apocalypse may happen, just in a way nobody expects. i don't think the world is going to die, maybe just it's habits. or maybe that day we discover some infinite power source, powerful enough for the whole world, and to last until the sun expands into a red giant. (basically, there will be an apocalypse, but not a mass kill until millions of years after the current generations die.)

The rapture is going to take place- long story short- for all of those who are not born again christians are left on earth- (just watch the left behind movie) after that happens there is a 7 year "tribulation" where mankind spirals downward for 7 straight years and so on and so forth. look it up in the bible for exact details. point is, if that were to happen right now, there is at least another 7 years on earth.
