  • I know it is suggested fr Boxer's though because they are prone to bad circulation ib theirs tails and a lot of the time the tail eventually does need to come off. And it saves the dog the pain it will experience much more when it would be older.

  • Cut. Her. Tail.

  • If any creature, Yorkie... other breed of dog, or any other animal for that fact, can live healthily and happily with the features they are born with, then there is NO need for docking, dewclawing, ear trimming... anything. They are born like this for a reason: because it's their natural form. People need to keep it this way under most circumstances. We have no right to mess around with their form and structure!

  • I have a yorkie with a full tail and I love it! I like seeing how he expresses himself with it and he has his dew claws, these animals should be accepted as god or evolution made them.

  • @WhatTFood Oh my gosh, that sounded stupid. *animal shelter.

  • I wish my Bailey had a tail. But I had no say. If I wanted a long tailed Yorkie, she'd be in the humane shelter, or put down. (It has been over 4 years.)

  • When I got my yorkie 5 weeks ago his tail was already docked I was so sad if that was mine before I had it I would of never got it done :(

  • 90% of people commenting here are Wall Street occupiers. Get back to work and stop bitchin about docked tails.

  • I have a yorkie don't listen to them

The Yorkies tail has to get docked unless you want a major infection :( 99.99% of Yorkies tails get infected I'd there not docked

    Suit urselves

  • @kimberly9rox Oh, for god's sake - what a crock of shit. That is the stupidest factoid I've ever read. It a fashion statement imposed on a tiny creature who can't defend himself. Many Yorkies (mine included) have full tails - LIKE THEY"RE SUPPOSED TO - and never have had your dreaded mystery infection. Dumb and ignorant comment, kimberly9rox.

  • Dogs "talk" to their human companions and other dogs using their ears and tails.

  • damn i'm getting a yorkie in 2 days but the seller has already docked the tail. Im kinda upset about it cuz a dogs tail is a way of communicated.

  • it looks good and you get ther ears croped nice

  • I wish my yorkie still had her tail, it was already docked when I bought her.

  • wish my yorkie was still this small! thank god it hasnt had its tail docked either

  • I don't think it matters. My family has 4 yorkies, three with docked tails and one without one, and either way both are perfectly healthy. We got the one without the tail docked when he was a year old so we decided not to. It doesn't matter whether it's docked or not.

  • AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Doesn't anyone wonder what on earth he's barking at??

  • @FuiSooty his shadow lol

  • I'm not trying to be a jerk who doesn't care but in my opinion I think Yorkie's tails should be docked.

  • ADORABLE!!

  • we all should make a petition to stop tail docking. i have a 7 month old yorkie and he still has his tail he wags a lot thats way we called him wags

  • a wild herdier appeared

  • I wish my yorkie still had her tail!

  • he is so cut

  • I clicked on this video thinking it was a rabbit at first.

  • @DarkLadyLoz baby boys are born with foreskins and why do doctors circumcise them if they were born with it?

  • @jfgb1979 Easier to clean, less chance of infection.

  • I don't understand docking, or cropping. Both are thankfully illegal in Sweden (where I live) since many years. But still, people have been importing docked and cropped dogs from other countries.

So, almost three years ago, Svenska Kennelklubben (the Swedish Kennel Club) came up with a new rule - you can't show, breed (?) or participate with any docked or cropped dog within SKK, if it is born after 1/1-08.

So sure, import a docked and cropped dog, but you can't "use it" for much.

  • I just wanted to say thank you for being a wonderful, human being!!

Your Yorkie is beautiful and NOT tortured with a butchered tail!!!

Many states have banned this and many vets are banning it because they have done research and have finally realized that it is extremely PAINFUL and unnecessary.

What kind of heartless pieces of shit can torture a 2 day old puppy's ?

Why don't you go back to school and get a job and stop breeding animals and torturing them to pay your bills you lowlifes.

  • My yorkie has a docked tail, as a matter of fact they are supposed to have docked tails. And it is not cruel, because once yorkie puppies are born, you have to take them to the vet within 24 hours; why? Because puppies don't feel anything in their tails until after 24 hours. So it won't hurt them.

  • I love this video! I love his tail wagging! Sorry docking tails was done to stop the tail from getting caught in the under brush. The Yorkie is a natural Hunter. Poodle tails were docked for the same reason. Poodles were used in earlier days as hunting dogs too. I have had a Poodle to point Birds. This is why they started docking tails on Hunting dogs to protect the dog. Do your reaserch.

  • We were first time buyers and we love our Yorkie with his tail. He was a Christmas present for our 8yr old daughter 2yrs ago and the best present we could of ever of gotten her. He is so amazing! Everybody that meets him instantly falls in love with him. I can't imagine him without his tail.

  • why do ppl even cut off pups tails? thats sad!

  • He is a beautiful yorkie and seems really happy!

  • mine has her tail , never a problem with cleanliness. Why would it ever get broken??

Don't see a need to chop it off.

  • Curious do you have any issue with the hair under the tail being soiled from feces or is it over all kept clean

  • My yorkie is having puppies soon and we are getting her spaid right after the babies get weaned. And we found out that she was a breeder dog and that's very cruel!!! So she gets to keep one of her babies.. And the babies are NOT getting their tails docked or ears cut. Their looks are just fine when they come out of their mother.

  • @Lephrasean23 Ears cut?? Yorkies never get their ears cut... This is a myth. Some Yorkies ears don't stand naturally, and some do stand naturally. Then some don't have a good ear stand. Tail docking only takes a second if done properly it doesn't even bleed. It is required. This doesn't always mean it is the right thing to do.

  • I think it;s so cruel to dock yorkies tails, or any dog. Your little Raffy is adorable. I have a yorki, and I can't imagine what she had to go through as a puppy. I wish she had a full tail. Thanks for putting up this video! SUPPORT 100% (:

  • @pinkydinkydoo218 when they dock the tail the puppies are so young they dont even remember it, its not like the dog tramatizes. And they dock tail often to prevent certain breeds that are prone to breaking their tails, which a broken tail is lot more painful.

  • @nikigurl08 so it doesnt matter if you break a infants nose or cut off their ears?, they wouldnt remember it.. so it ok~ :)

  • I have a Yorkie too and we did not dock her tail. We love he just the way she is

  • What a wonderful dog. So cute. ^^

  • I never realized that people docked yorkies. Learn something new every day.
